πŸ˜ƒ PLEASE HELP ME MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS, BY SUBSCRIBING, GIVING ME A πŸ‘ AND HITTING THE πŸ””. πŸ˜ƒ Mike Bryant is one of the top benchrest shooters in the world and also builds some of the world’s most accurate rifles. Some of his rifles have set world records. He lives and works from his ranch in Texas. This bio documentary tells his story.

A bit more about this film:

I flew to Texas to interview Mike, find out how get got into building rifles, and then filmed him as he built a super accurate custom rifle, from start to finish.

This was filmed on a single GH5 recording to an Atomos Ninja Inferno recording 4k 60p 10 bit. There are a few 180fps shots but it’s pretty much all 4k 60p 10 bit.

I used one 12 x 18″ flexible LED panels, and three tiny portable LED lights for the subject and the rifles, and a few of Mike’s 3200k shops lights for the background.

Camera gear on this production:
Panasonic GH5 recorded to Atomos Ninja Inferno
DJI Ronin-S

The best rifles… not the best shooters.

Wished youd shown the cutter , milling on your letter pantograph . Stamping letters , could distort your barrel .

I think My br gun was painted by the same guy that painted the american flag gun in the background about 57 secs in

An honest man who says the first 5 shot group was .08! Honest because he didn’t try to claim a three place decimal. You cant measure a group to three place ,you can’t measure a bullet hole to three places . Image a barrel maker wanting to know the diameter of a barrel shooting a hole in a piece of paper and using that to claim he/she could tell the bore diameter by measuring the hole in the paper! They’d be a laughing stock!!!

Really well done, thank you. Perfect for helping people understand what is involved in a high-quality custom made rifle! My only suggestion would be that you take the volume down on the background music down.

In your opinion, would it be worth having a .22 LR custom built for silhouette bench shoot competition, or would the factory Voodoo, Ruger Precision, CZ, Anchultz be the ticket. I shoot a lot for fun but just retired and am considering a pastime to meet new friends and pursue a lifelong passion. I also subscribed and liked thank you for your video, it was well done!

The average hunter around my home has no idea that someone can shoot five shots thru one hole. If you showed them a target they wouldn t believe.
I d give , well a lot to get where you are. I ve tried to learn all I could about guns, ammo and balistics of the two. I had no idea what a custom precision rifle was. I thought it was one made to fit .
I couldn t imagine a better job than building the most precise shooting rifles and seeing them shoot tiny groups. My respects to you sir , for all you ve accomplished.

I noticed you use a Unerdal style , sliding scope mechanism . I make my own scopes . theyre huge , but heavy . at 600 yards , if you cant see it , you cant hit it . I get lenses out of old telescopes from second-hand stores . I had trouble getting fine enough cross-hair wire . Then I found this calibrating resistance wire , used in commercial photo copiers . Its so fine , that if you lay a peice of it on the table , you cant find it, unless you marked where you laid it . I found for accuracy , the scope has to index exactly back in the same place . so now I use indexing cones and a light spring . The only time its ever off , is when a dust partical gets on a cone surface . The cones are made from wheel bearing races . My freind put a sticker on my target once , and said " can you read that [ at 600 yards ] ?" It said Baby On Board . , but there was a black tryangular line around the writing . Within the 3/16 black line was fine white printing , 1/16 high . I said " Ya , it says C-Fax 1070 Radio ."
