Well done! It looked like Winchester could have been a contender, until it’s moment.

  2. Paul Harrell on July 17, 2023 at 5:43 am

    HEY EVERYONE:
You didn’t win any prizes. That’s a scam. I have blocked it, but they create a new sock puppet account. I have reported it, but google is powerless to stop it.

I love shooting my 10/22 and see no reason to buy a clone. The Wildcat doesn’t appeal to me. However, I don’t see well enough to use iron sights. If you are fitting an optic to the Wildcat then the iron sights are irrelevant. I do not consider the crappy iron sights as a critical flaw; Paul does. Give him 10 years and he’ll be squinting like the rest of us old geezers.

When I first saw this review I thought it was harsh.
Them my wife recently won a Wildcat in the local sportsmans club raffle. We just took it out yesterday. 250 rounds, various ammo, using the stock mag and two Ruger BX25 mags, no problems with firing, extracting cycling. Fit and comfort, I’m 5’8", my wife is 5’2", we both found the rifle comfortable. Because we both wear glasses and have problems with either seeing the front or rear sight, we mounted a scope. So we have no comment about the rear sight. Cleaning was much easier than cleaning any 22 I’ve owned or cleaned. However, Winchester does say spray the trigger group assembly with a polymer safe solvent, and some people may need to obtain that mixture first. I did.
Opposite the ejection port are some small slits in the upper receiver. These did show some fouling. I found it interesting to have these included. A lot of thought went into this little rifle. That it is manufactured in Turkey does not bother me, they have been making fine tools there for centuries.

A user induced critical failure does not for a bad gun make.

As they say in pro wrestling, "He had everything going for him, the physique, size, athleticism……….and then the bell rang, BLEEEEEEEEEEEH!". Hard not to go w/a 10/22 if you’re gonna get a semi-auto 22lr…..I believe the phrase "tried and true" comes to mind.

  8. Keith Winston, Jr. on July 17, 2023 at 5:55 am

Well I guess I’ll remove it from my cart now. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  9. Joseph Bellardine Jr on July 17, 2023 at 5:55 am

    they make an 18-inch barrel.

  10. jpb1231000 on July 17, 2023 at 5:57 am

    ARKANSIDE…CBC: 301 !!!

  11. jpb1231000 on July 17, 2023 at 5:59 am

    FRAGGED!

  12. Tim Robinson on July 17, 2023 at 5:59 am

Paul didn’t properly tighten his rear sight and got butt hurt when he lost it.
Losing your temper and destroying your firearm because you screwed up tightening your rear sight is pretty pathetic and childish.

  13. Randall Hackworth on July 17, 2023 at 6:00 am

Did the 2 magazines that malfunctioned have plastic feeds?

  14. Opa Knows on July 17, 2023 at 6:02 am

Why didn’t you just compare the 16.4” barrel 10/22 with the Winchester? Huh? Huh?

  15. Hides in long grass on July 17, 2023 at 6:03 am

So….. Run the wildcat with a 1-4x scope. Got it. 👍

  16. xccelagator on July 17, 2023 at 6:03 am

    The ending..😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

  17. J R on July 17, 2023 at 6:05 am

You know I wanted to buy one of these – maybe get a third 10/22 instead. 🙂

  18. Brother Bruno on July 17, 2023 at 6:06 am

I’m a little confused. Why not have a spare 1/20th Allen wrench on hand and use that to tighten the sight, then call it a failure when it DID break? My Allen set does have a 1/20th size, and even if it didn’t I found a set on Amazon straightaway that did as well. Seems a little odd that you deemed it a critical failure before the tool they provided for you to tighten the sight actually failed. Love your work, but this just seemed a bit out of character

  19. Julio Gonzo on July 17, 2023 at 6:07 am

You could probably put a pic rail mount metal rear sight on it if you could find one with the right height. I get it that it should not fail out of the box, but if I have to spend $50 to make a cheap rifle with one flaw better, it might still be worth it.

  20. Juan Fransisco on July 17, 2023 at 6:07 am

Woah!! Why not just locktite it?

You did after all wood screw a peep sight from another gun on your 10/22…

  21. adventurfly on July 17, 2023 at 6:07 am

Those extended mags don’t work in the 10 22 very well either really…..

  22. 155DangerClose on July 17, 2023 at 6:08 am

Okay….so what I learnt was it’s a great little rifle, just put different irons on it. wtf are you all freaking out about?

  23. Ken B - on July 17, 2023 at 6:09 am

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!! The best review I have EVER seen. I’m laughing crying and kinda in disbelief that Paul shot up the Wildcat HOWEVER – CRITICAL failure is not acceptable and this is like half a notch behind Kid Rock’s statement to a certain beer commercial. But definitely of more value to us who need to know more about guns. Thank You, Paul.

  24. JimmyD on July 17, 2023 at 6:10 am

I can’t figure out how to redeem the prize I won

  25. Moredread25 on July 17, 2023 at 6:11 am

Really enjoyed the video. I was not expecting that ending, but having the sight fall off with is pretty critical failure.

  26. Striker Fired on July 17, 2023 at 6:13 am

I’ve had zero problems with mine.

  27. Toophess on July 17, 2023 at 6:14 am

Thank you, again, for helping me dodge an unnecessary purchace.

  28. Bill Tree on July 17, 2023 at 6:14 am

One day Paul is gonna be in a hill with a rifle, hidden among the trees. The last thing his enemies will hear:
    "For Instructional Purposes Only"

  29. Travis Farmer on July 17, 2023 at 6:17 am

if they made a wildcat takedown I’d tell them to shut up and take my money

  30. 5Dancing Israelis on July 17, 2023 at 6:22 am

Its the combination of awesome humor and semi-low production value that does it.

  31. Trad Bow Time With Uncle Dan on July 17, 2023 at 6:22 am

Dang Paul. You could have just put a Red Dot or Scope on it😁

  32. Terry Dudley on July 17, 2023 at 6:24 am

Wahhhh the sight fell off . It still functioned just ass good as the over priced 10/22 at a fraction of the price

  33. Tiddy Heart on July 17, 2023 at 6:25 am

    500$ wildcat or a 1500$ 10/22 , pretty easy choice for me

  34. stanly steemer on July 17, 2023 at 6:25 am

Shot up a better rifle than the 10/22 because you didn’t tighten the sight down. I don’t think much of that, will evaluate whether I stay subscribed.

  35. Missouri patriot on July 17, 2023 at 6:27 am

Tbh this is the most dumb and immature video I have seen paul do and the only one of pauls video I have put the thumbs down on 1 has he not got out of the stone age all the high cap mags he tested are chepo trash mags that half the time have trouble in rugers there is this cool thing called the bx25 made by ruger that works about 99% of the time in any ruger 2 He said it was reliblie accurate comes with rails out of the box has a bolt hold open and is really easy to takedown and clean and even works with some old crapo off brand ruger mags all pretty big wins 3 this is a 250$ budget gun for target shooting and hunting critters not a us army combat or home def rilfe so the 10$ plastic sight falling off is not a crtical fail when one most people will put a cheap scope on it anyway and never use the irons 2 loctite would have prob fixed it so ig lets throw a hissy fit and ruin a decent gun Ig with that logic im gonna go shoot my old ruger target pistol in half and my m1 carbine cuz rhe sightz fell off or it would be like taking a new 25,000 car to a car crusher cuz a tail light fell off and got loose cuz its a crtical fail

  36. the flava bean on July 17, 2023 at 6:29 am

I only ever want to hear people say "wildcat" the way Paul does.

  37. Hawkeye in the house on July 17, 2023 at 6:31 am

I didn’t see that coming, WOW. THAT WAS BAD, BUT I LIKE THE RAIL THAT IS ALREADY ON THE RIFLE. I HAVE A NICE 3-9X-40 AO with quick release mounts on it. 😮😊😊😊 I thought when you KILLED the Wildcat was a little bit EXCESSIVE but well in your rights TO DO. 🤔😉😂

  38. ThatGuyFishing Ben on July 17, 2023 at 6:31 am

I bet some little kid somewhere would have loved to have had that rifle. With a red dot it would have been a blast for em. But I get it no one likes when sights fall off.

  39. gorzinplatz on July 17, 2023 at 6:32 am

My 10/22 was made in 1993 and my first rifle. My brother gave it to me with a homemade peep sight. It’s literally just a bent piece of metal with a hole drilled in it screwed into one of the scope mount screws. So far the Wildcat has been disappointing. Failures to eject and poor accuracy. The old 10/22 shoots better at twice the range.

  40. cuda40 * on July 17, 2023 at 6:34 am

The Ruger 10/22 you had to modify the sights. You should shoot the Ruger instead. Lol

  41. One Rusty Datsun on July 17, 2023 at 6:34 am

    That ending 🤣🤣🤣

  42. leftcoaster67 on July 17, 2023 at 6:35 am

The sad part is here in Western Canada the Wildcat is $349.99, and a Ruger 10/22 starts around $479.99. Honestly it’s worth paying the extra $130.00.

  43. Jason Harder on July 17, 2023 at 6:35 am

Ok so I found your ending to the review a bit harsh considering the real estate for mounting a scope. You could also use loctite to keep the ghost ring in place. Funny but somewhat harsh lol.
Mind you my ghost ring never seemed to work itself loose so I didn’t have the same problem you did.

  44. seeratlas d' Tyria on July 17, 2023 at 6:39 am

What impressed me was that Paul could actually get an off hand group out of HIS Ruger that DIDN’T look like a .410 pattern, something not a lot of shooters can do..though yes 😉 to do it he had to modify it with his own ‘wildcatter’ peep mod 🙂 Thumb’s up , though i hated to see the WildCat go down for the lack of some loctite 🙁

I’m disappointed that you failed to provide the obligatory cigarette and blindfold.

  47. Trent Rumba Outdoor Adventures on July 17, 2023 at 6:41 am

The rascal is getting cocky with the instructional purposes only. Im genuinely impressed

  48. Chubby Johnson on July 17, 2023 at 6:42 am

So, safe to say that Paul isn’t a fan of the Winchester Wildcat?

  49. Charles Collucci on July 17, 2023 at 6:42 am

Hello boy and girls my comment is to Paul, man you must be eating way toooo many pop tarts. You are shooting off hand as apposed to using a rest bc that its a better way to evaluate the sights, and in your words REALLY!!! You know that anytime you minimize movement when shooting you better your chances for better grouping. If your purpose is too teach as well as demonstrate and you are going to test for accuracy, in the future use a bench. Here is an idea for a show. Shooting off hand as apposed to from a bench, use your 10/22 at 50 yards. Dollars to doughnuts your group will be half the size from the bench,
and shooting off hand in a product evaluation is in my opinion baloney.
