Wasteland 3 Builds: Heavy Hitter https://fextralife.com/wasteland-3-builds-heavy-hitter/
In this Wasteland 3 Builds Guide I’m going to be showing you my Heavy Hitter Build which uses Heavy Machine Guns and Rocket Launchers to blow the living shit out of every enemy on the screen. Wasteland 3 can be extremely overwhelming for new players and can cause confusion for veterans alike. In this Build Guide, I’ll explain just how to make this Build, including what weapons to use, what Skills to take, and which Perks to pick up. If you’ve been looking for a Heavy Gunner Build, with a bit of Leadership then check this one out!

The Heavy Hitter Build is a Leadership Build that takes advantage of the high firepower of Rockets and Machine Guns to get kills quickly in order to buff its teammates as quickly as possible with increased Damage and Critical Chance. Additionally, because it has so many Action Points it can use Rally effectively and still get off an attack on enemies, which can be challenging to do otherwise.

Is there a good brawling build? What about a pistols build that doesn’t use leadership/charisma?

  2. Michael Soldatov on July 18, 2023 at 5:08 am

Heavy Hitler? Oh my. What a build!

  3. ProtMythic on July 18, 2023 at 5:08 am

I just realized he plays with friendly fire off……. derrrrppp NONE of his builds will work if you got friendly fire

  4. blkwng on July 18, 2023 at 5:09 am

Hey fex, I haven’t seen you try your hand at an automatic rifle build.

  5. Alex Oz on July 18, 2023 at 5:09 am

My heavy uses fire damage. I went with disciple of the metal & pyromaniac. Put points in heavy weapons get all perks & toaster repair to get the last 2 perks and 1 skill point in explosive to get the 1st perk for fire resistance. You do initial damage that does multi-turn damage, debuffs enemies with engulfed, stack with critical chance/hit chance armor and buffs. Pretty fun

  6. hq on July 18, 2023 at 5:10 am

    heavy hitler ?

  7. Andre Melo on July 18, 2023 at 5:10 am

"Ambush: Set up an attack that will trigger on the enemy’s next turn. Uses all remaining AP, gaining +5% Hit Chance PER EXTRA AP spent". So it doesn’t give a +35% aim por turn like the op said.

  8. FJFD on July 18, 2023 at 5:11 am

How do you write like you’re running out of time?

  9. Demo Petrov on July 18, 2023 at 5:12 am

Definitely not my build for explosive expert. You can’t use grenades effectively only 2 str…

  10. Otarrec Channel on July 18, 2023 at 5:12 am

    Mortal blast+ Freezer Grenade=100% kills

  11. Major Mason on July 18, 2023 at 5:15 am

My tired ass eyes when i first read the tittle: Heavy hitler

    My brain: wait WAT

Reads it the second time: oh I am dumb

Suggesting a build based on a specific weapon is as pleb as it gets, even more so when the build is so bad. If you want a REAL Big guns build, pump fire damage, take weird science and toaster repair 7, combine with pyromaniac and disciple of the metal. Pump mechanics to max along with the perk to deal extra 20% to mechanicals. Take your best HMG and convert it’s dmg to fire (you know, a GOOD HMG not the complete shit N/hog). There, now you have a Flamer that decimates the whole screen and an HMG that one-shots everything. You are welcome.

Basically, Nidhogg is 40k bolter. So:
Power armor + Nidhogg = astartes

  14. Jason on July 18, 2023 at 5:18 am

Is a heavy gunner medic viable??

  15. jeff bezos 2 on July 18, 2023 at 5:18 am

    High key rad

  16. Daddy Dagoth on July 18, 2023 at 5:21 am

I love wasteland but it has the issue of the stat determining ap being waaayy to powerful

  17. Andre Melo on July 18, 2023 at 5:21 am

Build not optimal. BigGun users need the aim buff from leadership. Noob.

  18. Wɛndɪɡoʊ on July 18, 2023 at 5:21 am

OMG that first spray attack lmfao

  19. Hanzyl on July 18, 2023 at 5:21 am

What do you think of a Pyromaniac/Explosive build?

  20. Cho on July 18, 2023 at 5:22 am

How effective is this build without Nidhogg though? Should you even try it until you obtain that HMG? How far into the game is the weapon? (Yep, I’m new. 🤣) If it’s a late game item, it sounds like you should only ‘recruit & build’ this guy once you get it.

I want to try them all

  25. Barokai Rein on July 18, 2023 at 5:26 am

Whilst Nidhogg is great I’d personally recommend Minigun with an HE Fuse linkage. With this build it would deal more damage, has cheaper, more common ammo type and 10% better hit chance which comes in handy since it shoots 18 bloody bullets with one attack which also gives plenty of chances for crits. Just to compare numbers Nidhogg has raw damage of 295 per attack and minigun has raw damage of 341 ”after -10% damage penalty from slapping on HE Fuse Linkage to it.”.
Now Nidhogg has some stuff going for it such as higher critical damage multiplier, assuming 100% crit chance Nidhogg would deal 649 raw crit damage whereas Minigun would deal 443 raw crit damage. So if you’ve got critical hit chance somewhere around 80% Nidhogg would be by far the better weapon for you, however if you don’t have crazy high crit chance Minigun would be better and would also crit a lot more often since one attack has 13 more hits in comparison, meaning a lot more chances to crit.

You can also just ignore heavy guns completely and go for literally any other weapon type, slap HE Fuse Linkage onto that and you’re done. Same exact build, just different weapon type, one of the better ones being Automatic weapons, since there are two late game weapons which also come with explosive damage. SMG called PDW-01 and an automatic rifle called Lancer, both are pretty damn good,PDW-01 wins over the Lancer because it’s pretty damn godlike. It’s kinda crazy but it deals on average ~270 raw damage and has AP cost of 4,so you can easily shoot it at least twice per round for 540 raw damage…which now that I look at the numbers is enough to just completely overshadow both the Nidhogg and the minigun in damage per round while also being more flexible due to lower AP cost.

  26. WitchZer0 on July 18, 2023 at 5:26 am

That demoralize + suppressing fire looks spicy.

  27. wutingwei on July 18, 2023 at 5:28 am

mini gun with +20 damage -10 hit chance weapon mod is op with big guns too

  28. Pete Mitchell on July 18, 2023 at 5:29 am

Finally! This is the build that I was waiting for. Every gang needs a heavy companion, and this hits just great!

  29. after thought on July 18, 2023 at 5:32 am

waiting for the detailed Fantastic Firestarter guide

  30. Richard Kim on July 18, 2023 at 5:32 am

Are ammo limited in this game from merchants? I need more rocket ammo but the merchant literally have none because i bought all of it…

  31. Kisa Me on July 18, 2023 at 5:36 am

I read it as Heavy Hitler -_-

  32. Gacha Ýoshiřo on July 18, 2023 at 5:40 am

glass cannon build btw how many NIDHOGG in the game ?

  33. Folksy P on July 18, 2023 at 5:41 am

Wich one of the “pre made” followers you get to pick from hq do you think would be easiest to turn into this build? If that makes any sense

  34. FerretYe on July 18, 2023 at 5:42 am

I found HMG works better as Critical Miniguner. Big gun10+ some Combat shooting + minigun (20dmg barrel/long range scope/ hit% under barrel/-1ap mag). It does 800-1000dmg per "shot" without crit (combat shooting 10=80%+ crit rate), when every bullet crit, we are looking at 1600~2000 dmg per "shot"!
It does not require a NIDHOGG to work and not need to invest explosive skills, plus it does the job for the sniper (21m range), my sniper is now designated grenadier. The only downside is you have to get the combat shoot skill book…

  35. Mac on July 18, 2023 at 5:42 am

Can you beat this game with just two people in ur party?

  36. Caio d'Lima on July 18, 2023 at 5:43 am

LOL sometimes its fun to be dislexic.
    i just read: heavy hitler

  37. Trojianmaru on July 18, 2023 at 5:47 am

Hope to see some companion builds soon. Really love the look of Ironclad Cordite, but my first 2 characters were a tank melee, and sneaky sniper, my 3rd and 4th are heavy weapons man, and doc.
So his combination of brawling, explosives and mechanics, doubles up on both the tank and the gunner.

Same with Scotchmo, be has small arms, lockpicking, sneaky shit and melee, so he doubles up on my sniper, melee tank, and doc.

  38. callum on July 18, 2023 at 5:49 am

gonna make this but just change the leadership and the quirk. pyromaniac seems too good not to have with this build

  39. Rail on July 18, 2023 at 5:50 am

what do you mean with "ambush" and the increased accuracy that comes with it?

  40. Kitkami on July 18, 2023 at 5:51 am

I REALLY wish i could respec my people.

  41. Chester Rico on July 18, 2023 at 5:52 am

Good synergy with leadership actually, unless you find a quick mag (-1 AP) for your minigun or Nidhog…
But even then you probably have enough AP to use Rally, provided you’ve maxed coordination.
    Good build in any case.

  42. Ckovich on July 18, 2023 at 5:52 am

When will the brawler class come out?

  43. GuiSilva84 on July 18, 2023 at 5:54 am

Hey bro. I’m new to the game and was wondering, what is " ambush with HMGs " you mention at 5:19 ??

  44. Almighty Loaf on July 18, 2023 at 5:55 am

You got an assault rifle build?

  45. Daddy Dagoth on July 18, 2023 at 5:56 am

    Thanks dad.

  46. Elend Zhao on July 18, 2023 at 5:58 am

how about a minigun with explosive mod, I found it does more damage than the 50 cal

  47. Nazull on July 18, 2023 at 6:05 am

IF i use your Shotgun Leader is it then best to use the skill point from this leader to send on somthing else?
I am looking to make a good group. but you builds are all on combat skills but none with lockpicking or toaster or others that u need in game.
It look like its all combat. do you have any advice on makeing char with these skills too.

  48. TheRAMBO9191 on July 18, 2023 at 6:05 am

I’m guna use this build, like using a spartan in halo wars 😁

  49. Miles Williams-Lewis on July 18, 2023 at 6:05 am

Do you remember that scene from Dredd (2012) where Karl Urban shoots an incendiary round into a crowd of bad guys?
