Why??? Is Springfield and Ruger never on your lists?? These are fine weapons too! Springfield 45 out of the box..is very tight and shoots very well..Ruger SP series are exceptional wheel guns also…fyi..shooting both for over 25 yrs.

In one of the safest countries in the world ( the UK) the highly trained police are traditionally not armed. Gun violence in that country is a small fraction if the gun violence in the USA. Think about it.

I would argue, admittedly a small point, that the Smith model 10 Military and Police revolver and its copies was more popular and common than any and all 1911s. Probably also the most common handgun of all time.

Police should not carry guns with no safeties and striker fired. That little sure-safety trigger thing is not safe.Ther have been many AD’s resulting in deaths with these guns.

My father was a cop for 30 years. At first, you only got a revolver with no extra ammo. Six shots and that’s it. You weren’t allowed to carry a knife either (but most cops said fuck that). He went through 3 different 38s. Eventually they got Berettas, and of course those were much better. But soon he got a Glock, and that became his favourite. A Glock 22, to be exact. I’m fond of that gun knowing it kept both him and our community safe, and I thank God he never had to use it.

Lots of officers in my surrounding departments carry Glocks. I’ve seen 17s, 19s, 21s, and both versions of the .40s. I’ve also seen a lot of 1911s, a couple of Berettas and a few Walthers. I personally carry a Walther PPQ M2 9mm.
i cant believe he didnt mention the springfield XD’s. i mean i know its not insanely popular (yet!), but LEO do use them and as for me. ill pick a xd-9 subcompact over a glock,sig or M&P any day..
