No C.S. XL Voyagers? Lynn Thompson said the 3 inch blade is fine if your a Ninja and sneak up on someone unarmed but for the real world a larger blade is needed.

Hey DCA. I’m looking for a knife like the Mini Bugout, drop point or tanto, similar light weight (below or at 2 oz ideally), and similar closed length. Basically I want a budget Mini Bugout at a price point around +/- $50. The cheaper the better.

  3. Daniel Vargo on October 27, 2021 at 5:45 pm

  5. Eliezer Vega on October 27, 2021 at 5:46 pm

I can’t decide between Adamas and HEST. What are the main differences and advantages against each? Also, the HEST has so many different types. Anywhere I can go to know the differences between the HEST’s?

  6. abrams atwo on October 27, 2021 at 5:48 pm

Got the mini Adamas and it came with FREE blade rock. Sent it back to Benchmade and it came back the same way.

  8. timothy jorgensen on October 27, 2021 at 5:49 pm

My go to tactical knife I use for my job witch is a tire tech witch is the gerber o6 auto tanto that is a beast

  9. Taylor Greene on October 27, 2021 at 5:50 pm

I think a microtech stitch would be a much better choice for a tactical auto than the gerber lol

  10. Josh Graziosi on October 27, 2021 at 5:51 pm

Modicum: a small amount of a particular thing.

  11. BygRedBear on October 27, 2021 at 5:53 pm

  13. Joe Scola on October 27, 2021 at 5:54 pm

Awesome Show as usual! Finished with my personal favorite Gerber 06 Auto! I have the tanto version which is twice as nasty!

Got my ZT0308blkts as a birthday gift, three days later dropped it and cut my leg😐…. needless to say, it is incredibly sharp out the box. My leg is fine no stitches needed. As for the knife. Absolutely love it, it is my EDC. I’m 6’6 245lb so it may be a little big for other folks, but it fits my hand perfectly and doesn’t feel too heavy in my pocket, even when wearing basketball shorts. It’s so great I am contemplating canceling my order for the ZT0990 I was planning on using as an EDC, if this was too big. As I already have a civivi Shredder for Less conspicuous days. But I really do like the look of the 990…idk.

  17. supperterofsanity on October 27, 2021 at 6:05 pm

I don’t want something flashy or something with a lot of extra levers flipper tabs or protrusions to get caught on stuff. Benchmade triage is my favorite. One hand operation with gloves. “Compression locks are a complete no go with the gloves I wear”. The belt cutter has gotten more use than I ever imagined. In addition to seat belts and webbing it Cuts flex cuffs quick and safely. I accidentally ordered the serrated one but again I use it more than I expected cutting rope and even sawed through some lamp cord someone tried to tie a door together with.

  18. Ross G on October 27, 2021 at 6:07 pm

    No Emerson. Epic fail.
    CQC 7 flipper

  19. Glenn Miller on October 27, 2021 at 6:09 pm

I don’t understand why you don’t have the ka-bar tdi, any Emerson, bastinelli, or smith and Wesson on this list?

  20. ToxicTiki on October 27, 2021 at 6:12 pm

How is the 7505 not found on your site?

  21. James Harris on October 27, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Sog flash at xr is the best

  24. Ryan Simpson on October 27, 2021 at 6:16 pm

Really impressed with Civivi. It’s hard for me to want to buy expensive knives when their knives are so good. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  25. Scott is not from Here on October 27, 2021 at 6:18 pm

Me and my friends (both of them) binge watch this channel and do a shot every time he says he has big hands.

  26. Robert Iversen on October 27, 2021 at 6:18 pm

What about the Adamas Auto… a great knife with an automatic blade deployment.

For Rick Hinderer knives, I really like the Jurassic 2nd Gen a lot. Better ergonomics and a little smaller for great EDC Tacatical use. You get get great after market deep carry clips, too.

  27. Joseph Pace on October 27, 2021 at 6:18 pm

Texas did away with knife restrictions- thank God

  28. doliverelliott on October 27, 2021 at 6:21 pm

The Spyderco Resilience, the Chins get the master werx award for heat treatment and grind on 8Cr13mov(that performs better than AUS 8, other budgets, as well as any on the generic S30v), Walker liner lock G-10 scales. I bought one and then a half dozen to have for trade or gifts at under $60, they are over $60 now, stills value 4” blade. The Tenacious are some I picked up butI like the big uns.

  29. Tim Lehman on October 27, 2021 at 6:22 pm

Hey DCA, I’m looking to get a diving fixed blade for around $100-$150 and curious to hear your suggestions. Thanks!

  30. Armando Ortiz Jr on October 27, 2021 at 6:22 pm

I need that civivi in my life

  31. Bruce Leroy on October 27, 2021 at 6:25 pm

Knives have weak stopping power and a ton of killing power. The best tactical blades are big, shiny and scary in order to discourage engagement.

  32. AR9fy on October 27, 2021 at 6:25 pm

Always great to start of the day with some tactical advice from non-tactical individuals 🤡🥳

  33. George Zipp on October 27, 2021 at 6:28 pm

Video’s are great the service is a big ZERO

  34. jatbatman on October 27, 2021 at 6:28 pm

I will never understand how people say the deep carry slows them down. Slide your thumb in, pinch between that and your middle finger on the clip, drop your index finger to the flipper, yank, press position, get on target.

I just recorded myself doing five full cycles each of pulling two totally opposite knives. The first was a Civivi badlands vagabond. It’s a deep carry with very good engineering. The other was a Kershaw CQC with the Emerson wave. Protrudes about an inch when fully in the pocket. As I said, it has the Emerson wave.

The Civivi I was fully on target in under 2 seconds each time. Due to the Emerson wave, the Kershaw was on target in closer to a second and a half. If I dug through my collection for a knife without the deep carry or the Emerson wave, those numbers would probably align exactly. The Emerson wave reduces the time it takes to actively open it, which after 30 years of carrying knives is less than half a second with any knife worth carrying.

  35. James Harris on October 27, 2021 at 6:30 pm

David mentioning the Gerber tactical knives what has happened to the Gerber Ranger? In my opinion the Ranger if upgraded would become a top seller. The knife is not heavy or too big. Sometimes I ask myself why are these knife designers hired? They have no creativity

  36. matty d on October 27, 2021 at 6:34 pm

Do you have upgraded springs for the Gerber 06?

  37. Scott is not from Here on October 27, 2021 at 6:34 pm

I have been carrying my cold steel sr1. I don’t feel under knifed.

  38. Robert Nixon on October 27, 2021 at 6:34 pm

Can I get the esee 3 with s35v steel with the 3d black an white grips like they do on the 6 ?

You tell me everything I need about all the knives and I just wanted to say thank you….

  41. Bill Shoemaker on October 27, 2021 at 6:35 pm

Hey David love the show, I am trying to find cold steel srk and srk c but nobody has it in stock. Did everyone buy up the old inventory before the buyout? Is cold steel going to make any more ? Help please.

  42. Kyle C on October 27, 2021 at 6:37 pm

In my mind cold steel or nothing cold steel can take a heck of a beating do anything I love my XL Voyager serated EDC one knife for the rest of the life this would be it

  43. Patrick Mccrea on October 27, 2021 at 6:37 pm

Yeah my favorite tactical knife is tha microtech Socom manual tonto blade I have the auto in the clip point but the tonto is my dream knife 😁🤣

  44. Eliezer Vega on October 27, 2021 at 6:37 pm

I loved loved loved the Adamas look but I keep seeing tests by bushcrafters or military types and they just show how it fails and the axis lock breaks too easily. They show how the original did not do this. There seems to be a design flaw. Even the M4 Superfreek couldn’t break and it’s the same company. Have you heard of any recalls?

  45. Chaz Hendrickson on October 27, 2021 at 6:37 pm

Another awesome video DCA. I now need almost your entire list in my life now.

    Tactical edc, my favorite

  50. Jim Kissell on October 27, 2021 at 6:42 pm

That artisan cutlery hornet which you show I own, exact same model, and I love it, I wouldn’t wanna put that much money into a tactical knife that you might actually have to use because, odds are police will confiscate it and you’ll never see it again, yet if your life is on the line what’s limit you’ll pay for a quality weapon? For the money and the quality and the design you can’t beat this knife. The fidget and cool factors are checked 100%! “Don’t call it an Emerson” opening has never failed to deploy fully and quickly, which can also be said for the flipper tab, but the hidden gem of this design is an amazingly satisfying front flip that you get from thumbing the guard open like a thumb stud or “slow roll” flip, One issue I had upon first purchasing was the handle design, but after using it for a few months I think it may be my favorite thing about it! If you, like me, need some piece of mind living in an urban area where you might just have to defend yourself with whatever you have on you, this knife ain’t just for piece of mind, you’ll love to play with it, it’ll scare potential threats right outa messing with you, it’s the best knife on this list!
