Taurus G3C – Major Safety Issue- literal manual safety issue – Gun will fire with safety on
The Taurus G3C and likely all “G” series pistols have an issue with how the safety is designed – if you stage the trigger then engage the safety – the trigger can still be pulled to allow the gun to go off. I don’t hate Taurus and I’m not “bashing” them – but this was pretty big in my eyes.

*The irony is this exact issue- **_manual safety engaged but not preventing trigger pull_**- was one of the serious safety allegations made in the class action suit that Taurus recently settled- a Safety RECALL affecting nearly one million pistols of about 19 different models.*
Why would anyone in their right mind do that anyway?
Clickbait 🙄. Who would ever do that with a firearm. If you wanna hate on Taurus just say that dude
Really geeze this is such a non issue, why would anyone do that? Even an inexperienced shooter wouldn’t pull the trigger to the wall and engage the safety. Good way to get YouTube clicks tho.
So how do we know it will fire if dropped. Because you said
Not a big deal
Why any idiot pull the trigger back and put the safety on!
I have allot of Taurus guns and NEVER had a problem, miss fire . Nothing EVER.
Dumbest shit I ever seen
A lot of salty Taurus fanboys in the comments. Didn’t know they existed.
Seems like a decent Darwin test to me.
What a fool g3c all day great firearm
Holy shit the poor fanboy copium is insane in the comments.
Well crap I guess carrying a round in the chamber in any gun is a safety issue if the pull of the trigger and it goes off right? I get it, you can’t teach common sense you either have it or dont
I do think this is more of an issue than people are letting on. This gun is likely to have more first time inexperienced buyers than higher end models. So you have to allow for people not knowing what they don’t know.
My G2C, G3 and G3C can’t recreate it. That said this is something buyers could check for in the store before walking out with that gun.
Foolie return every single gun you own right now
This guy should not have a gun u set the safety without touching the trigger duh
What bumbling idiot is having issues like this, tell them to go back to Cali and put the guns down. It’s not for you! If you had good finger control This would never be an issue.
He sat down looking for an issue cuz who tf has their finger in the trigger before putting safety on ðŸ˜
Yea, I always pull the trigger halfway back and then put the safety on. LMAO. I guess that it does have to be "childproof" for some people who post "reviews" on You Tube.
This is the most useless and useful video at the same time. Never even thought to set the trigger before enabling safety but great to know it can do that
Plain simple solution don’t do that…… no offense to you good person.
What kind of dumbass does it take to pull the trigger before engaging the safety?! This is a non issue.
Solution: Don’t halfway pull the trigger before you put the safety on… Not to sound snarky but seriously anyone with good gun etiquette is not going to have this problem. Now, if this were to some how happen because of your holster or how you holster the weapon, maybe that would be something to be concerned about and definitely something to be investigated. I will try to recreate this with my G3 and if I remember to update this comment I will.
This is pure stupidity if you stage your trigger before putting it on safe you need more training before you handle even a bb gun
That was bullshit. I think you guys are mad that a 300 gun is better or at same level as your 600 gun that y’all love so much.
Not a huge deal if you have some gun safety education, but I would never carry a gun with a manual safety on it so this isn’t a problem for me.
If you want to have the gun on safety with it loaded you rack it while it’s unloaded then you insert the magazine after that you flip your safety switch up no accidental firing. Also who stages it then engages to safety
If you’re a big enough bonehead to be putting the safety on while the triggers depressed, you have as much business with a pistol as Alec Baldwin.
I feel this video is a safety issue..if you are sincerely interested in putting informative videos out ..you should be telling people to not prestage a trigger for the fact the manual safety is not intended to work that way..any time a safety is put on it is with your finger completely off the trigger with the trigger fully at rest and then put on the safety as intended by the manufacturer and taught in every safety course in the the country…telling someone to pre stage a trigger and put the safety on is wrong and irresponsible…
What you say about the G3C is absurd. Based on your logic, a Glock is even less safe.
When you pull the trigger on a Glock it goes off every time!!!
To top it off – they claim to have three safeties.
Thanks I like that just in case I forget it will still fire you go taurus
Not very likely to happen, but of course safety is always worth mentioning.
However i do believe taurus has corrected this issue by making the stryker not stryke the primer or making it do light that it wont fire. I have to check mine real quick. Gimme a sec
Mine wont just attempted it 7 times (not loaded) but good to know none the less
So lets find ways to force a gun to fail
I own a Taurus G2 PT111 Millenium and duplicated what you demonstrated in the video in the dry test. My gun did not "appear to" fire. Obviously, in the comfort of my home, I did NOT place a round in the chamber, so I can not say for certain if it would have fired. That’s something I’ll do at my first opportunity at the range.
I have SOME questions for you. Before you conducted your live-fire test, did you put many rounds through your G3c, or is it brand new? Since you absolutely did get the gun to fire while the safety was on, has Taurus been informed of the failure, and has a simple solution been found to resolve this obvious problem?
One comment I have is, I doubt seriously that I would EVER stage the trigger as you did before engaging the safety. But despite that, you did find a way to get the safety to fail nonetheless. As luck would have it, I have a G3c on order from Buds. The first thing I’ll do in the store is to perform the dry test. I’m wondering what the Buds rep will say when I go to pick it up.
Oh. 🤔 interesting
Knocking Taurus while getting paid by higher end gun companies to do so.
I am sure the YouTube idiots of the world it’s a problem
I picked my G3C up about a week ago and the first day that I got it… I was seeing just how good the some safety really was. Now… The only other weapons that I own that have a thumb safety other than shotguns and rifles are 1911s and a couple of Beretta 92FS. I pulled the trigger almost all the way back and then hit the thumb safety on the G3C and continued pulling the trigger after and it did fire. I suppose what’s one would consider to be normal person wouldn’t do that. But… Well I mean the Beretta and the 1911s don’t do that. Typically with striker fired polymer wonder guns if they have a thumb safety I usually don’t bother with them anyway. At any rate excellent video. Carry on.
Bakit mo ipepress ung trigger bago mo isafety, bobo
My Ruger ec9s does that too don’t pull the trigger before the safety
This is not an issue in my point of view, you must be very, very, very, very dumb and idiot to pull the trigger before activate the safety….
Misleading title, general advice tho don’t do whatever the duck that was to any weapon or it can be a safety issue
I don’t know why you would pre-set the trigger? Like I read in a previous comment, do not pull that trigger unless you intend on firing the weapon. This is a waste of time! Don’t be stupid!
Your a fucking idiot if have any reason to play with the trigger while o. Safety if its loaded you don’t pull the fucking trigger unless it’s needed it meant to be like that it a self defense handgun you don’t always have time to flip off the Safety in a self defense situation!!!!!
For the love of Dez nutts, this doesn’t even make sense to do. He mad cause Taurus sold more than his favorite gun company, facts lol.
Here it is.
The gun will not fire even if it’s trigger click.
