S&W Model 10 .38 Special

S&W Model 10 .38 Special

What a classic! This mid-size S&W frame and caliber has been around well over a hundred years. It’s still a great caliber and firearm.

This gun is super accurate. Great for small game handgun hunters. Love this gun. I remember seeing a colt police positive at gander mountain than that’s when I knew that when I was old enough my gun of choice would be a 38 caliber revolver. Using full metal jackets because those work too says the army and other military branches.

I bet all the crooks who have been killed by the .38 don’t think it is weak or not deadly

  3. The National Timely Action Hour on December 7, 2021 at 10:43 pm

I would like to buy one.

  4. israybil32980 on December 7, 2021 at 10:43 pm

You know what they say, a .38 can really motivate.

  5. Mangalone on December 7, 2021 at 10:43 pm

Learn to use the speed-loader effectvelly and not lose your nerve under fire !! Practice those groupings, hit those targets !! 👍🏼

  6. TOM COOK on December 7, 2021 at 10:43 pm

People laugh at the .38, but it’ll still put a man down…

  7. akira _ on December 7, 2021 at 10:45 pm

  8. megadethGUY M on December 7, 2021 at 10:45 pm

  9. Martin Gallo on December 7, 2021 at 10:45 pm

It’s a great reliable gun I also have a 2 inch barrel Model 10 I carried them for 20 years in the NYPD , I’m retired for 20 years and still carry the 2inch Model it’s a reliable gun that I know I can depend on.

  12. Trev on December 7, 2021 at 10:48 pm

Hickok is correct not to turn up his nose at .38 too hard. I am a police officer and have seen fully grown men on various substances killed by .38 spl. Some in a single torso shot.

  13. Nick Porter on December 7, 2021 at 10:52 pm

The Smith and Wesson K-frame is the ideal size for a revolver. Compact enough to conceal, but large enough to be easy to shoot. I love my .38 special K-frames. I wish they still made snubnose K-frames.

  14. Steampunkerton on December 7, 2021 at 10:57 pm

It’s best known as the Police Revolver (To people who aren’t as informed in weapons or want to pronounce it shorter)

  15. Mark Maue on December 7, 2021 at 10:59 pm

Is the smith & Wesson 38 special victory model worth much or anything?

  16. Spud Mead on December 7, 2021 at 11:03 pm

Can you use +p in it ?

  17. Alexandre L.C. on December 7, 2021 at 11:03 pm

  18. Ling COD on December 7, 2021 at 11:04 pm

Love these and the earlier M&P.

  19. Daniel Jackson on December 7, 2021 at 11:04 pm

I recently came into possession of one of theses. It was a c model made between 1958-1959. Were those able to handle the +p self defense ammo or not?

  20. Mitchell Crager on December 7, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Hickok 45 is literally my favorite therapeutic YouTube channel. He’s like the Bob Ross of firearms, I love his calm exposition on the firearms. I love his expertise.

  26. Godzilla Simpson on December 7, 2021 at 11:14 pm

Full metal jacket 38 special regular was used by the police. I intend to use the same once I am old enough to get one of these pieces of art.

I’m carrying a model 10 4 inch bull barrel, the grip doesn’t print as much as my .45acp in lighter summer clothing

  32. Drowsy D on December 7, 2021 at 11:23 pm

I own one of these. It’s a beautiful weapon with a nice weight. Mine was made in 1914

  34. na on December 7, 2021 at 11:24 pm

Great video. Have always enjoyed firearms especially wheel revolvers like the Model 10 and the Colt single action army. I have found watching your videos very educational and they help me to enjoy my interest in firearms even more. Thanks

  35. Josh Niles on December 7, 2021 at 11:24 pm

I recently received one of these or something like it. The metal looks very old. CTG printed on the barrel along with some dates "09 14". Also theres a stricker on the hammer. Im not an expert but i wouldn’t be surprised if it was made around ww1. Just having some trouble researching the value of it. Serial # wasn’t recognized at s&w lol

  36. 1aztecninja on December 7, 2021 at 11:25 pm

  37. Invader Joe on December 7, 2021 at 11:26 pm

Once I get my open carry license this is gonna be my open carry self defence gun, I might even have one of those old military flap holsters because they are my favorite

  38. Coyote Anon on December 7, 2021 at 11:29 pm

  41. Marcos M. R. on December 7, 2021 at 11:32 pm

It’s pretty accurate revolver, still good for self defence specially if you’re protected inside your home

  42. Keith Kotake on December 7, 2021 at 11:35 pm

Anybody know what speed loader he has? Pops has same exact gun been looking for a couple. None of the new models fit correctly

  43. Quadrenaro on December 7, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Found one in rough condition for 300. All I really need to do is get new grips, but otherwise, it’s pretty nice.

he was one of the commanders of Liberation war 1971

  45. Emperor Constantine 1. on December 7, 2021 at 11:38 pm

There is just something about a revolver dumping the casings and the brass bouncing on the ground…

  46. Tyler L. on December 7, 2021 at 11:39 pm

I love the Colt Python or Navy Colt but the model 10 always get the job done

  47. Chris Smith on December 7, 2021 at 11:39 pm

That’s my first pistol and one of my favorite I own today .38special and it has good stopping power IMO but I’m no expert or anything but I know I wldnt wanna look down the barrel of one.

  48. ludsat1 on December 7, 2021 at 11:39 pm

I am so happy you made this video I inherited my dads .38 service revolver And I love it…I am glad you didn’t blow up on the .357 mag….I love your range

  49. Doug Hansen on December 7, 2021 at 11:39 pm

My late father, an FBI Agent from 1951-1967 carried short version of one of these on his hip during is entire career. Right hip holster, similar to Hickok’s. One night in the early ’60’s, he boarded his bus home from work in downtown Detroit. As he turned to walk to his seat, the fare box railing pulled back his overcoat, revealing his S&W to the driver. A few stops down Charlevoix, the bus was boarded by the Detroit Police, who asked my dad to step out for a meeting. Needless to say, Dad got a free ride home that night, courtesy of Detroit’s finest.

Is it safe to shoot 38 S&W ammo? They fit…
