I go over the upgrade changes I have made to my Smith and Wesson SD40ve. I changed out the light laser combo and added a slip grip to it. This 40 caliber striker fire pistol looks just like the SD9ve.

you should change that trigger and spring kit and upgrade that recoil spring with a spring pad. It will make a difference. I also put some fiber optic sights and a laser as well. I got the same wrap you got; very comfortable. I went and polished that barrel up, along with those groves on front and back of the slide and also the barrel release polished up real nice; a lot better than that black and then put a new slide cover plate with a cross lasered in it, and some new chrome mag plate and extended slide lock lever; made it much easier to break down, I wish I could show it to you. It turned out nice. Made it my new carry pistol. Of course I’m talking about that SD40VE

I have the exact same firearm. You need to upgrade your rear sights Amazon’s got some Trujicons for about 20-something bucks it came with extra different color light tubes and you need to upgrade your trigger my man I recommend the Boudicca made by Galloway Precision it is about 20 bucks and I also polished my Barrel with Mothers Polish and got an extended magazine plate that ads about 5 more rounds off of Midway. Com you can also get a stronger sear spring and guide rod which both I got off Amazon for a few bucks makes a big difference. That 1911 is sick though🤜🏼🤛🏼

The SD40VE is my EDC. I added the Hogue slip on grip and purchased two extra magazines. I have 43 rounds available at all times. I do have some questions if you don’t mind answering them. Night sights recommendations? Has the laser and flashlight held up to recoil, even on a mag dump? Any issues sighting in the laser? Holstering issues?
Edits: Recently solved all issues. I put on a Crimson Trace CMR 209 Rail Master flashlight for $60. Ordered an IWB R&R holster designed to fit my SD40VE with the Crimson Trace CMR 209 flashlight for $70. This was the only holster company I could find that make a holster for my exact build. Painted the front sight neon green, painted rear sight block from black with white dots to silver with red dots. The contrast in color works perfect for me.
I just added a rubber grip ,I did the spring kit and tactical trigger from apex. I also just added ade optic red dot. Looking to get that light added soon .
