The 1p29 was a Soviet direct copy of the British Trilux SUIT scope, which later turned into the SUSAT unit on top of L85A1 rifles. Nowadays the 1p29 is no longer common, but had still been seen in modern engagements in Crimea and Chechnya… with it’s 400m zero range for a 5.45 rifle.

How much sense does this setup have? Why even bother? How cold and rainy does it get on the 9HR range?

HUGE thanks to Nick G. for loaning us the otherwise difficult to source scope!

Nice thing is, that you can still easily use iron sights with the scope mounted. Which as far as I know is not possible with original SUIT scope.

  2. nuraly78 on October 27, 2021 at 5:45 pm

7N6 is probably the oldest amuntion in 5,45.

  3. axl schweiz on October 27, 2021 at 5:46 pm

just shot irons at short distance, like the russians do it

  4. joe martinez on October 27, 2021 at 5:48 pm

Wouldn’t it be easier if you just set your targets at meters rather than yards?

  5. Rhon Bacolod on October 27, 2021 at 5:51 pm

Ok that Blyat in the intro caught me way off guard.

  7. Bthorn 50 on October 27, 2021 at 5:51 pm

It seems like the Russians are always 15 years behind the West in terms of optics development.

  8. J P on October 27, 2021 at 5:53 pm

Worth buying a 1p29 as an every day/range scope? I assume the scope can be (imperfectly) zeroed for 7.62×39, at least for ranges of 100-150ish yards without relying on the cam system?

  9. ротато sаск on October 27, 2021 at 5:55 pm

Lmfao I fucking peed myself at the heavy slavic breathing meme, so unexpected given the professionalism of this intro.

  10. David Kohler on October 27, 2021 at 5:56 pm

Henry Chan…You sir are a monster behind the trigger. So impressive. I shoot a lot of my 150 plus military rifles at a private range. And watching you go from one platform to another is amazing..you make it look easy. But I know the challenge and expertise and practice practice practice.this type of marksmanship takes. Thanks for the footage.

  14. Osama A. on October 27, 2021 at 6:00 pm

why would they even design a sight like that

  15. Reuben Dobbs on October 27, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Yes, you can’t push the scope on a trilux, common problem that. Good old heavy duty optic almost soldier proof.

  16. Brad Engen on October 27, 2021 at 6:00 pm

  23. Bojan B on October 27, 2021 at 6:05 pm

Imagine being one of the morons who spent their entire military careers ”knowing” the AK platform is inaccurate.

Where did you aim for hits at 150,300?

  34. Aukai Collins on October 27, 2021 at 6:23 pm

There were no engagements in Crimea. Donetsk and Lugansk are pretty far from Crimea which is where the "engagements" have been occurring.

  35. Michael X on October 27, 2021 at 6:25 pm

    You’re in Russia not Ukraine.

  47. zoiders on October 27, 2021 at 6:36 pm

I was struck by it’s similarity to the SUIT. The SUIT wasn’t around for that long so I am curious as to how the Soviets obtained one to copy.

  48. 9-Hole Reviews on October 27, 2021 at 6:41 pm

I should not have called this an AK74M, blame it on me trying to impress the Tarkov boys. Will fix later
