Walsh reviews the sig 1800 BDX and goes over all the features of the BDX and its limitations.

We unbox the Sig 1800 BDX and show you all of the features that come with it.

We show you the different features of the range finder. We go over the differences in LOS, AMR, and ABU modes so you know how to best use the rangefinder.

It is important you know both what this range finder can do and what it can’t so you know if it will fit your application

This ranger finder maxes out at a minimum of 5 yards while it has maximum of about 1000 yards. You can get out a bit further but its extremely difficult.

The BDX features does NOT operate past 800 yards. To know your measurements past 800 yards, use the LOS mode and input the distance and input angle into a ballistic calculator. The AMU mode will give you an incorrect distance measurement and mess with the ballistic calculator.

I have the 2200bdx and it will not range anything past 1300. I’ve tried in all light conditions. Buildings, car , trees. Most of the time it won’t range anything past about 650. I can only do deer out to 450. I would 100 percent not buy again. Save you’re money people

Okay im confused…I was about to go for the kilo 1600bdx. Is there more than 1 model of that? Also considering the new leupold rx1400. Does it have holdovers like bdx?

Can you use the range finder without the app or the sierra scope?

  5. Roy Pijnenburg on November 30, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Is it only in moa or also in mrad? And is it in meters or also in yards?

Do some more thinking about Why Sig Sauer does not want to sell a rangefinder with a BDX capability for greater than 800 yards. I think your comments are way off base and naive.

    Awsome review thanks.

So from bdx 100 to bdx 2200 will range the same distance? For price point 1000 series will suffice but 1400-2200 give you the red lite reticles? Thanks for the info good vid.

Mighty fine review. Took into consideration different types of shooters or hunters or distance. Good stuff!

Good job man. What else should I look at? Is Nikon image stabilized in a rangefinder worth it? or just a gimmick?

  13. John Stewart on November 30, 2021 at 11:03 pm

    Hello
Could you please explain how I can change the distance from 800 to longer like you have done. I could work out hoe you got to the page to change the distance to 1000 m
    Thank you

    Nice video! Thanks for sharing!

How about using it during the night? Is the reticle lit? Say I want to find a distance in the night. If I aim towards an objective, will I be able to see the measurement in the reticle? Does it show lit in red? Or is it impossible to use it without ambience light?

    Thanks!

I have purchased a Sig bdx1800 thinking that it can read up to a 1000 Y. I would like to find out how to enter in the LOS mode my line of sight distance, the unit is rather difficult. Can you help and advise.

wow, i was about to buy this. Their approach to the marketing and the BDX has turned that into a hard no. Didnt even realize there were 2 different laser versions of this, thanks for the heads up. Doesnt display which version in 99% of the listings for the item. Looks like the SOK18601 SKU is the 3R, maybe? SOK18602 is the 1M? Still not even positive. 601 was embedded on a OP listing for the 1M, but multiple ebay listings show 601 as being 3R.

Vortex warranty worth it if only to give SIG the finger on this one. Even if it would fit the bill nicely for my precision AR and bow.

Anyone know which SKU is which for sure?

New Sig KILO 5K BDX just came out. It is $750.

800 yards is way out of range for shooting any animal ! Try hunter ethics ! Anyone using this range finder for hunting will have good results as long as they use Hunter safety and Hunter ethics. ! Facts !

  23. Crazy Horse on November 30, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Did it come with a printed user manual or just the card?
