The Sig also had the advantage of accidentally discharging a round if dropped on a hard surface, just in case the enemy hit you with a fatal round, as a last ditch effort when you drop the pistol the fight isn’t over yet..

They only mags that dont the 19x are the gen 5 all others fit from my understanding
The standard issue m17 i think came with 2 (21 rnd) n 1 (17 rnd), also the actual military version was all tan, to include the slide lock n mag release. Some of those were sold when sig changed put all of them, with the versions closer to this.
The only issue was sig claims the military wanted a slightly diff cor n didn’t wanna repaint them so the just replaced them n sold the originals to the public which makes sense financially. However, some claim there was actually a safety issue with the original released m17’s n then painted them slightly diff so the military would easily be able to identify the ones OOS to the replacements. So needless to say a rocky start but overall still a reliable weopon. I just wonder if they fixed the ones originally sold before they made it to the public. I knkw they added a diff spring so they can reliability shoot regular ammo.
Glock is the best

It’s all coming back to me know i would 9/10 1000% rather have a m17 m18 over the glock glocks just have 50 round drums and ets clear magazine THATS It for me I can get a 15 round 20 and 30 rounder for the sig

I have both and I like the grip and trigger better on the p320s and the lower boar on the glock
I fought all the way into my 30’s not to buy a Glock until I shot my dads 40 s&w mind you and it still shot better than any of my 9mm pistols it was police issued gun it felt blocky in my hand I hated it until I shot it now the Sig loved loved the P229 but the P320 was awful compared to the 19 the P320 might be one of the worst out of all the military trials it is hot garbage!!! 🗑🤯🔫
I like Glock don’t get me wrong but the sig is just the better over all gun
M18 would be a better comparison.
That’s what I don’t understand, Glock should have kept the grip to a shorter length, and made the magazines more modular. Where you could have 17rds or more but, it would have the grip extender on the mag. The two main reasons they lost 1) Sig came in at $130mil cheaper, 2) Sig is a trademark and in USA firearms company. Yeah glock has a factory in Marietta Georgia but their home of operation is in Austria.
When I was at the range I shot both of these guns personally I prefer the glock 19x because it’s heavier and I’m a glock fan
The Army over engineers basic applications. They have no need for a modular system.

You’re correct. The gen5 mags won’t work on 19x, but gen1,2,3,4 glock mags will work.
I have a G19x and a M9A3 both are great guns. like the way the M9a3 shoots though, way better trigger

That recoil control was way better with the glock than the sig.
