Sig Backing Out Of SHOT Show!

Sig Backing Out Of SHOT Show!

Sig has decided not to attend SHOT Show in 2022 due to a multitude of reasons. I wonder if they are the first but NOT the last.

Shot show is an archaic, relic. Why would any CEO of any brand, regardless of market-share, bother spending money on an outdated form of marketing? LET ALONE, one that could potentially put their employees in danger of contacting a potentially lethal disease? The entire world now relies on the internet for product reviews, whether it’s firearms, cookware, shoes, cars, or sex toys. The idea that one industry still requires an in-person centralized trade show is arguably the most ignorant, outdated concept for a person to offer.

  2. Kaden Lipke on November 1, 2021 at 7:41 pm

I think this might be because of the P320 lawsuits.

  3. Julie Munoz on November 1, 2021 at 7:41 pm

they could just scale back their both. of course if their to big for their britches we can put our money elsewhere. There’s plenty of good manufacturers.

  4. Kenny Stalter Bean9198 on Twitter on November 1, 2021 at 7:41 pm

I can agree and disagree, I’m sure a big part of it was just bizz ness will the end justify the cost???

  5. Scott miller on November 1, 2021 at 7:42 pm

Sounds to me they need that money to put towards frivolous lawsuits.

  6. Philly Patriots on November 1, 2021 at 7:42 pm

I doubt shoot show will happen again

  7. Jon Franklin on November 1, 2021 at 7:42 pm

    Bean counters. Enough said.

  8. j j on November 1, 2021 at 7:43 pm

    Mask, hmmm no thanks.

  9. SKYDIVINGCOMRADE on November 1, 2021 at 7:45 pm

Send only those employees who have had the Rhona already i.e. those with natural immunity. The million dollar gamble I can understand, but it’s worth the risk in my opinion.

  10. tk0100 on November 1, 2021 at 7:46 pm

Well if their people have taken the vaccine they shouldn’t get sick according to this stupid president we have now.

  11. Gentlemen Arms on November 1, 2021 at 7:47 pm

I want to go to shot show.

  12. Chris Jarvis on November 1, 2021 at 7:47 pm

The most overrated gun company on the planet isn’t going to shot? First thing that comes to mind is “oh well sig sucks anyways so no loss” who want to see the 64th version of the 320 or 365 anyways 🤣😂. It’s a liberal company anyways and y’all know how we feel about liberals. Every time I think of sig I think about Nancy Pelosi cuz they r both a lot alike 🤣😂🤣😂

  13. MrArob826 on November 1, 2021 at 7:48 pm

I’m willing to bet that if they weren’t going to be charged an additional million they would do it. I don’t understand why they had to pony up the money, seems counter productive. Everyone should had sat down and figured out a better way, but also, I thinking that was done to steer people to the other booths

  14. Matthew FORTIN on November 1, 2021 at 7:48 pm

SIG needs to stay home and fix their engineering issues. Not to mention the lawsuits they need the money for.

  15. Walter Niklowicz on November 1, 2021 at 7:49 pm

Who cares they could go out of business for all I care.

  16. Will Centeno on November 1, 2021 at 7:49 pm

Sounds like a bunch of B.S to me 🤷🏽‍♂️

  17. Matthew Cooney on November 1, 2021 at 7:50 pm

Don’t forget about Cesar Sisolak changing requirements to attend conventions.

  18. Blue Falcons Suck on November 1, 2021 at 7:51 pm

Vegas is turning [turned] into Cali-East… Shot Show should up stakes and move. There’s far more gun friendly places to choose from.

  19. steve harper on November 1, 2021 at 7:52 pm

they probably are not even going to have it, operation covid19, if they do the lethal injection will be required to get in. i dont care for sig, but with the lethal injection mandate it aint even worth going no one will be there.

  20. Richard Vezzani on November 1, 2021 at 7:52 pm

Excuses are just that….and these have a funny smell….the smell of coercion. You don’t like the spot because you are not visible enough so you make yourself less visible buy taking your toys and going home? Covid ? Really? Too much wrong with this to even go into. I’ll just say…if you buy the narrative your cognitive abilities are on Par with Bidens…LETS GO BRANDON !

  21. thepatriotsrock2 on November 1, 2021 at 7:53 pm

  24. Brent Nunn on November 1, 2021 at 8:02 pm

  25. Kenny Hennette on November 1, 2021 at 8:02 pm

A new variant of COVID virus.

  30. bullthrush on November 1, 2021 at 8:11 pm

The mid-term variant is due to be out next year.

  31. hateca1 on November 1, 2021 at 8:12 pm

If all of their employees have been vaccinated since they are a government contractor what are they worried about? Unless that vaccine doesn’t work. Just saying.

  32. Gentry Debbie on November 1, 2021 at 8:12 pm

Not Going to fly for me Sound like something Fauci would Say , Maby They should ask Fauci For Permission ?

  33. Heath McDonald on November 1, 2021 at 8:12 pm

All of the bow manufacturers have dropped out of the ATA show in Louisville. They are selling as many bows as they can produce without paying the ATA $250k for booth space. ROI…..

  34. RE:Desert_Boy on November 1, 2021 at 8:15 pm

Too bad as Sig Sauer is now the featured rental manufacturer for the Clark County Shooting Complex where some of SHOT Show is held. Sounds like they need staffing to be healthy to support their military contact. Thanks.

  35. KID SANJOSE on November 1, 2021 at 8:15 pm

    Yellow belly sig!

  36. Doug Dunlap on November 1, 2021 at 8:15 pm

    Boo on them. !!!

  37. American Rider on November 1, 2021 at 8:17 pm

Masks have been proven to have no benefit and for that reason a mask rule or mandate would be the #1 reason to not go to the SHOT show. This nonsense and stupidity has to end

  38. Carey Quinn on November 1, 2021 at 8:21 pm

Everything you said about exposure and participation is certainly true but they still have to consider return on investment especially taking in to account the cost of relocating. Additionally, the current administration or local government could shut it all down within weeks of the show – again.

  39. steven Dieken on November 1, 2021 at 8:22 pm

Sig can go out of business, the cowards.

  40. amlite on November 1, 2021 at 8:25 pm

is this an apologist for hire show?

  41. R. Brown on November 1, 2021 at 8:25 pm

Live in fear and surrender your freedom.

  42. NGMonocrom on November 1, 2021 at 8:26 pm

Pandemic isn’t over. That first reason, very good reason. Not going to fault SIG for accepting reality and not pretending that the planetary pandemic is over…. unlike clearly much of the gun community in America has done.

  43. goodmaki on November 1, 2021 at 8:27 pm

Big Dick Sig doesn’t need no Shot Show to Blow Loads!

  44. ItsAmk18-ish on November 1, 2021 at 8:28 pm

So is sig saying they don’t believe in the effectiveness of masks? 😂😂😂

  45. Gordon Adams on November 1, 2021 at 8:28 pm

I won’t wear a mask. If wearing a mask at shot show is required- screw it. WHO NEEDS THE SHOT SHOW ANYWAY.

  46. Jason Croft on November 1, 2021 at 8:31 pm

It’s a bummer, but I can understand it. Before Covid it was an issue having employees down with cold or flu after SHOT. They need all hands on deck to build and fill orders.

  47. Tom Edgar on November 1, 2021 at 8:31 pm

Worked in marketing for a living, pulled out of a show if floor location was not right. Cost to attend is huge and this might be part of the negotiation for the following years location

  48. Hazcat on November 1, 2021 at 8:31 pm

Many years ago my Drill Sergeant told me the maximum effective range of an excuse is … zero meters!

  49. Christian Fritz on November 1, 2021 at 8:31 pm

Having some inside experience with Sig and trade shows I know that they take extreme precautions with the health and safety of thier employees and subcontractors. So my experience validates the first reason they gave. Secondly as far as the million dollar changes required to relocate the booth, these booths in question are literally sectional buildings custom designed for each show, for a smaller event they will send a smaller setup and the shot show layout is by far the biggest/most elaborate. As big as shot show is on paper you have to be a part of "the industry" to attend, does it not make more sense to focus your attention to the dozens of smaller shows and make connection with the general public while putting your personal less at risk?

  50. SirGlockALott on November 1, 2021 at 8:32 pm

WTF, sounds like BULLSHIT!! They can send a dozen employees, go smaller on the booth as long as they are present, show up. Instead, they are taking orders from the government. They don’t want to loose their giant Military contracts. Citizens purchases I guess are shit, compared to government purchases. Sig is just another big company that is part of the military industrial complex. Sig Sauer needs to get their shit straight. They have been selling junk. That is why they have a $10 million dollar lawsuit (actually many lawsuits, many are law enforcement agencies) over the P320, which they also have a government/Military contract for $580 Million. FUCK SIG!!
