    I just got my first .45, a 1st gen 4.5 inch M&P and omg I have become obsessed with all of your Slug Fest videos and really any video you’ve done on .45’s, it’s such a great caliber and now my wish list of guns has completely changed to all double stack .45’s, thanks for all the videos man keep em comin

    I saw your first Video and I picked one up when CDNN had them for 299 back this past Oct 2018 and your video assisted me with the decision of getting one. I have been a Ruger pistol fan for a long time all the way back to the Ruger P90 back in 1992. I figured that my Sig 1911s and P220 45acp needed a new friend. I added the TruGlo FTX Night SIghts and let me tell you the Factory Novak Front Sights was a Bear to take off! The FTX is an Awesome addition as well as the Talon Grip with was one of the first things that I added. I have been looking for a Kydex that will allow me to carry it with one the Olight PL-2 Valkyrie that I added.
    I would like to increase the Recoil Spring Weight by 10 to 15 percent will reduce felt recoil.

    Talon Grip on mine and the Galloway striker guide, this pistol is a favorite of mine. No problem with knuckle for me. I use the lrg, grip panel.

    Not the first of your reviews that I’ve watched. And each one offers good practical information on the firearms. Straight and to the point and kept simple. Learned a lot about the gun in 15 minutes, can’t beat that.

    I had the compact so I’m going to say when things are made smaller the different dimensions sometimes things don’t go right. I had recoil guide failure. Failure to feed and eject with high grade ammo. I sold it in disgust.
    But I’m a Ruger guy. I may try the full size version this time.

    Be interested if you can review the “New” Ruger American Compact 45ACP in cerokote Gray. Until then, your review of the HK45 convinced me to Fall/Winter carry the HK45ACP

    Jesus is coming very soon for the Rapture of all of His true believers. Prepare yourself spiritually by repenting of all of your sins, turning away from every sin, pursuing holiness and surrendering yourself completely to God (God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit) and His will.     This gun is my EDC. Can’t believe I can conceal this without discernable printing. Big hands, and the large palm swell makes those the perfect choice!

    I was never a big fan of the Ruger American but not for any lack of quality, I just wouldn’t replace my Ruger SR40C, love that gun, ergonomics are great and it’s a reliable shooter, it’s hard to explain the feel but just racking the slide on it reminds me more of an all steel gun compared to other even more expensive polymer framed pistols I own or have handled, there’s no play in the slide and just feels so solidly built, they’re well made and anyone who owns a Ruger knows what I mean, when I hear people say Ruger’s are built like tanks I think it’s for some of the reasons I noticed as well and it just runs smooth so all in all Ruger makes a quality firearm.

    Consider this is a sub $400 pistol new. You get what you pay for with Ruger. Love my vintage Ruger One and my Blackhawk revolver but would never consider their modern pistols.

    I put the Galloway precision smooth it kit in my compact 9 and it’s a dream to shoot and I love it.
    Did 100rds after I installed it and it ran flawless.

    Most modern pistol manuals refer to the slide stop…as a slide stop. They are not designed to be used as a slide release. Hence the reason people have problems using it as a release. Manuals do not state to use the slide stop as a release when loading, but to pull back on the slide to release it when loading. I always teach students to pull back on the slide from the slide locked position to charge the pistol. This utilizes the full compression of the recoil spring (especially on compact and subcompact pistols) to load the round from the magazine. It also teaches them one way to charge the pistol and how to operate the slide to clear feeding malfunctions.

    It wasn’t so much about the ammo finding the target as much as it is about how well how you handle the gun. You do an excellent job in transforming a gun into a WEAPON.

    I’ve been shooting mine for a long time and would choose this over a glock just for the price and what they give you! If glock put out a gun at this price point then it would fall apart!

    I like my Ruger American, but you are right; it has some quirks. My peeve is the slide release sometimes doesn’t catch when the magazine is empty, or when inserting a mag it will forward itself. They could have also put in a beaver tail or just have shortened the back in way more.

    At the time of typing this, it’s been 4yrs since this pistol emerged. I really hope Ruger plans on releasing an improved version like Glock or how S&W did with their M&P. Also they should do a tungsten infused polymer to the frame to give it durable weight balance will using a standard steel frame you find in most semi autos.

    The American has a lot of potential to become a favored firearm if Ruger just tweaked some things.
