I really enjoy your videos sir. I’m a big Rossi fan. I have the Stainless R92 in 45 Long Colt. It matches up perfectly with my Stainless Ruger Vaquero that is also 45 Long Colt. I will be purchasing 2 more R92 very soon. I want a Stainless 44 Magnum and a Stainless 357 Magnum. 😁

  3. Robin Roper on November 5, 2021 at 9:30 pm

I also have the same 44mag as in the utube plus the ranch hand in the 44mag. Both great guns, Also I have the model 92 in a 357 because it uses the same ammo as my S&W model 19 handgun.

  4. Alexander Gennaro on November 5, 2021 at 9:31 pm

American gun manufacturers should be ashamed!

  5. I HATE NEW YORK on November 5, 2021 at 9:34 pm

Can’t go wrong with a Rossi, especially their 16 inch carbines

  6. David Weikle on November 5, 2021 at 9:34 pm

We call it fat lighter down here in South Carolina

  7. Karl Sarpolis on November 5, 2021 at 9:36 pm

I bought one in .44 magnum back in the 1990’s with the 16 inch barrel and large loop lever. Fun little carbine with the magnum or .44 Specials. I traded it to my brother a few years back when I acquired an old Winchester 1892 in 44-40. The wood was darker on mine, and the finish was top shelf. I believe mine was made in Brazil and it has Puma on the carton.

  8. Suds Reserve on November 5, 2021 at 9:37 pm

I have the Rossi ranch hand chambered 44 mag and i love it. Great shooting gun with zero issues, very well made.

  9. NebukedNezzer on November 5, 2021 at 9:38 pm

I have the rossi 92 stainless carbine,16 inch barrel. in .44magnum. it shoots terrible with standard pistol ammo but great with .432 diameter bullets. I had to learn to open the action smartly all the way. then it feeds fine. I am pissed off at SAAMI for making .4315 diameter standard for rifles only. no one sells ammo for it. All the rossi guns are rough machining. the worst is the Trifecta(defecta?). the .243 barrel fits the action so poorly it sprays bullets all over.

  10. patrick kinney on November 5, 2021 at 9:38 pm

I got one in .357. I had to change out the front sight to a high viz cause I couldn’t see it

  11. Matt Smith on November 5, 2021 at 9:40 pm

If it has anything to do with Taurus it’s will be junk . south American guns are cheap for a reason .

  12. ZMOA2006 on November 5, 2021 at 9:42 pm

Hi good video! Can you shoot 44 special with this rifle? Thank you very much
    Cheers from Calgary πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

It always mystifies me, when reviewers say fit and finish is great, but then point out action needing smoothing, slop in the trigger etc. All are part of the FIt, imho. But, Rossi’s are good for their price. Well, that WAS the case. But at the time of this review, and now, you will pay just as much for a Rossi, as you will for a Marlin, or a Henry. Current street prices are the same(ish). I had a choice of a Rossi, only $40 less than a Henry X, both in 44 Mag. It easn’t even close, as far as which was better made, so the Henry is now mine, and the Rossi still at the FFL. SO, it should be compared to a comparable Henry or Marlin. Compared to a Henry, it is just inferior. To current made Marlin;s, it may or may not compare, depending on the luck of a draw on the Marlin. At usual Rossi prices, yes, great bang for buck. For current pricing, no, it just isn’t as good as a now similar priced Henry, and some Marlins. GRANTED, right now, it depends on what the heck you can GET your hands on.

I couldn’t abide the curved, butt plate.

    Texas/Louisiana: its cold.

    Men: No, its not.

We call it fat lighter here in eastern nc

  18. Anthony Surrency on November 5, 2021 at 9:48 pm

I’ve heard that some rossi 44mags will shoot .429 bullets, and some need cast bullets seized to .432. Do you know what size was working with that one?

  19. Mike Davis on November 5, 2021 at 9:49 pm

I’m curious how you make sure someone doesn’t wander into the background of your range. Bullets travel a long distance and your range looks flat. You must have a ton of land to know what’s behind the target is safe. Just curious.

  20. Dalton C. Rocha on November 5, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Here in Brazil, I watched this video.

  21. Anthony Briglia on November 5, 2021 at 9:50 pm

  22. Lloyd Wright on November 5, 2021 at 9:53 pm

I have the 24 inch octagon barrel version withthe crescent butt plate. it is not that accurate, but it is fun to shoot. Greetings from GODS country, Arkansas.

  23. Rex Gardner on November 5, 2021 at 9:56 pm

    What does it cost?

  24. Ranger Point Precision on November 5, 2021 at 9:57 pm

Hey George. Just found this video. Glad to see that you have a Rossi too. We’re just rolling out our new Rossi Parts with many more to come. Think we’ll need to get some in your hands for testing. πŸ™‚ https://rangerpointstore.com/rossi-92-parts/

  25. M W on November 5, 2021 at 9:57 pm

My Stainless Rossi 92, 20′ barrel is in 357 Mag. Handloads clock at 2250 fps with a 125 gr bullet over a max book load of 2400. Those are essentially AK 7.62×39 velocity and energy levels with a gaping hollow point up front… Much smaller ammo and hits harder with that Hollow Point. I love this little rifle.

  26. Rich Weatherly on November 5, 2021 at 9:58 pm

Thanks for your review of the Rossi R92. I’ve had this rifle in 357 Magnum for several years. It is a great shooter. Mine has a 20" barrel. I highly recommend it.

  27. Dermot Shaw on November 5, 2021 at 10:00 pm

They cost the equivalent of $1167 here in Ireland

  28. HELPMEPWEASE on November 5, 2021 at 10:05 pm

I just snagged me one of these. Picking it this coming Monday πŸ˜†πŸ˜πŸ˜Ž

Ever rossie I had was worth the money. From shotguns to rifle

  30. Charles Tex on November 5, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Hello, George. Greetings from a Brazilian gun enthusiast and amateur shooter. Thanks for the video and also for trusting one of our products.
Basically, as far as I know, this would be the correct short version of Rossi’s timeline:

1889 – Amadeo Rossi (Italian immigrant living in Brazil) opens up a metallurgy company.
1921 – They start manufacturing primers and hunting ammo.
1943 – Gun manufacture is established (their sturdy revolvers and lever action rifles got pretty famous over the years, actually).
2000 – Company is acquired by Taurus.
2014 – Taurus was acquired by CBC (Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos – Brazilian Cartridges Company).

Nowadays, Taurus domestic website still presents those rifles as Rossi rifles and carbines, but they’re actually made by CBC (which also makes Magtech ammo for you guys). In the US, you have many more Rossi and Taurus gun models than us. We can’t find blued Rossi lever action rifles here, like yours.
By the way, I’ve just ordered mine earlier today in .357, after plenty of years of day dreaming, waiting for gun-right laws and finding the nerve to face 6 months of paper work.
I hope my comments have enlightened some of this conglomerate confusion.

Congratulations on your channel and I’ll be using your disassembly video as soon as I get my R92 (down here, model Puma 067).

    Adriano Mano.

  31. Wild Tex on November 5, 2021 at 10:12 pm

I really like the Rossi 92 in 44 mag. It’s small and very powerful.

  32. StagArmslower on November 5, 2021 at 10:12 pm

I got Rossi 357 mag with gold bands, trigger. hammer and lever. Maybe they put some heart to it because rifle is smooth like my Winchester Miroku. Wood inlay is perfect too

  33. Wannabe on November 5, 2021 at 10:13 pm

Nothing cheap bout it. A thousand bucks on their website. Cheap would be half that

  34. 12floz on November 5, 2021 at 10:13 pm

I have a model 94 AE trapper in 44 magnum with the large loop lever. Not fond of the cross bolt safety but it’s a fun gun to shoot.

  35. Daniel Trivinho on November 5, 2021 at 10:14 pm

Taurus own Rossi, and I’m not sure if they merge with CBC or own them too

  36. Charles Eye on November 5, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I’ve got the 92 in .45 Colt. Damn good little rifle that can handle "Ruger only" loads. After about a thousand rounds, the action smooths right out. Mine is about as buttery as a Henry.

  37. Rick Rivers on November 5, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Great video, a simple light sanding on the internal parts will make her run smooth as any other lever. Now I dont know if I should buy a .357 or .44. Both are great cals.

  38. Joe Barrett on November 5, 2021 at 10:18 pm

My brother has an R92 with the short 16" barrel in 44mag. Functionality is solid, accuracy is great. His only complaint is the sharp edges at the loading gate just as you pointed out. I think they are a fine little rifle for the price point regardless of the need for a little smoothing of edges

  39. Spencerbo on November 5, 2021 at 10:18 pm

    I call it fat lighter

  40. DRAY00 on November 5, 2021 at 10:18 pm

That has a better wood to metal fit than my post 64 winchesters

  41. Alexander Gennaro on November 5, 2021 at 10:19 pm

American gun manufacturers should be ashamed, brass balls and no brains!

  42. Nathan Sutter on November 5, 2021 at 10:19 pm

    These are great guns

  43. Michael Klewinski on November 5, 2021 at 10:19 pm

I got the M92 357mag from Rossi December 2019. After a few months of firing it smooths out but not as smooth as a marlin. Never the less I love it. I recommend if you get the 16inch barrel to cut the spring by 1inch since they use the same spring from the 20inch. It allows you to hold +1 357 or +2 38spl and lessens the load on loading the magazine.

  44. Carlos Comas on November 5, 2021 at 10:19 pm

    George
    What website you recommend?

  45. steve on November 5, 2021 at 10:20 pm

I have a Rossi RIO GRANDE, in 45/70 Stainless. I really like it. I took mine apart and polished the action, and it is very nice. mine was made by Taurus.
