I invest in gemstones, so often times the gems are above 5ct. If I wore my Saphire on my pinky ring I would look like an absolute bafoon, I keep it to the index finger for any of my gems above 5ct.

The traditions of a wedding band worn on the left hand is Catholic. It originates from Catholicism and the Popes as well as the Caesars of ancient Rome and has now been adopted by most western cultures. Non Catholics including Protestants wear their wedding band on their right hand.
