In my opinion, a fighting rifle is not complete until it has a good sling. Finding the right sling can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. There are a lot of slings I despise such as 3 point slings, other slings I prefer not to run such as single point slings, and then there are my beloved 2 point slings.
I prefer the Vickers Sling by Blue Force Gear and Larry Vickers for reasons I will discuss in this video, however there are other good slings I would use such as: The 5.11 VTAC 2 Point Sling by Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics; the D3 Sling by Travis Haley of Haley Strategic; the MS4 or MS3 Sling by Magpul Dynamics.

Thank you for doing this video, I need to learn how to shoot left hand as my right eye doesn’t see anything but a chunky blur at close range. i.e. closer than 20 feet, so left it is, left eye is my dominant eye.
The Vickers on Amazon doesn’t have attachments on either end. I want a sling that’s ready to attach to the firearm right out of the package.

I have a90’s SKS from my grandfather with a sling. Leather straps from the cloth sling to the gun. It’s not as ergonomic as yours, but after this video and a couple hundred rounds, it’s actually really nice now I know how to use it.

If u wear two triple mag pouches on the front of your plate carrier, it will not gonna hit on your pee pee.
I always used a old seat belt as a sling
I think for new shooters that is the one thing they never think about is a sling and I’m glad to see somebody explain how important they are

Loved the video! Personal gear is definitely an ‘evolutionary process’. Both my wife’s AR and mine utilize 2-point slings for the very reasons you demonstrated.
That was the training i got in the Army, alway keep the rifle on you, keep it slinged on your back while doing tasks, or stack arms with a guard watching the weapons if we are erecting a tent and camouflage netting. You sleep with your weapon in the sleeping bag.

Is wrapping a sling around your forearm for a really tight grip a thing of the past? Just how I was taught very many moons ago, 1st AR is due in few days. Know there really light…just asking, how I shoot the 03A3, it’s a beast!

a single point is designed for a short distance move, such as for Police or SWAT team, it makes it easy to fire at any moment, however, if you have to walk or run for a distance, such as infantry unit, yes, you are right…it is a joke! about the triple points, I do not have experience, I think it is for climbing the rock or sky diving of special force. After all, selecting the right sling for the situation is very important to carry your best friend!

IDK I have used a single point sling quit well with out hitting my boys and it drops to the side just like the 2 point you showed but maybe Im setting mine up different?

Rail mount sling mount right behind the rear iron sight. It cocks the rifle to the side like a two point does and the manipulation is bad ass.
