REVIEW: Walther Rotex R8 – Compact Hunting Airgun – This is the latest rifle from Walther Guns in Germany. A famous brand name through out the world, so when it launches a new PCP air gun, we have to take a look.
The rifle packs an impressive punch, and is an 8 shot pest smasher.
This video contains a review of a pellet / BB rifle. Its powered entirely by spring actioned compressed air and uses no gunpowder and must not be confused with any form of tactical firearm. My Targets are paper and tins.
Always shoot safely and show consideration to others around you, this review is designed entirely as an independent review.

I know this is an older vid but…. owned one of these in .177, and on an indoors 50 metre range, using JSB Exacts with the right head size, looking at nearly one hole groups. Maybe 3/4" on a good session. Like the way you make your vids – looking to buy a new rifle and think your opinion is worth listening to.
hi – i hope you dont mind me asking. I have an RM8 .22 and when I fill it with air I get a small amount of leaking air around the quick fitting. Did you experience that or is that sometimes normal with PCPs? thanks for your help
Whoever designed the stock has spent too much time watching the opening of Eastenders. It meanders as much as the bloody Thames. That’s my first thought 1 minute in, not to watch the rest of the review to see if its any good…
I’m a shotgun shooter but looking to get a non FAC air rifle for rabbits. This looks like it might fit the bill, but I’m way more impressed with the quality of the review. That’s a heavy gun at 8.5lbs, more than a lot of springers.
They don’t come in via ARMEX NO MORE, John Rothery is the only importers of this rifle.
Not impressed with accuracy tbh. I’ve seen you shoot much better. The 25 yard group looked all over the place.

The Rotek looks very similar to the Hammerli CO2. Are the magazines interchangable?

I have the Rotex .22 bought a couple of months ago. Looks and feels good and shoots ok. But cocking mechanism is not very smooth and doesn’t always fire.
Bought a Weihrauch hw110 for my son. This has a side lever action and my seven year old son can easily cock the gun. Far better than the Rotex. So I’d recommend saving your pennies a bit longer.
Where do I buy this in the USA?
Before seeing this video was advised to buy one of these , just getting back into air rifles after a break of 30 yrs, a lot has changed in law and guns , and guns themselves,, so after my pittance, every month from my part time work , due to heart attack , gonna save and save ,, so hopefully in 3 months will be a proud owner , ,, haven’t helped myself ,, bought a cp2 last wk end and a webley dmx dr the wk end before ,, following your video on that gun ,, cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
