Reliability Test! Hi-Point C9 9mm

Reliability Test! Hi-Point C9 9mm

You asked for it, so we’re testing it. We put the Hipoint C9 pistol through the MAC Gauntlet test. The Hi-Point is a very affordable pistol in 9mm, but how does it stack up to far more expensive models in our standardized tests?

  4. A Jax on November 12, 2021 at 10:32 pm

So basically if you learn how to take care of it(disassemble & clean) you can defend your life with a Hi Point.

  5. Michael Darby on November 12, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Take your prized pistol and do the same thing as you are doing with the high point…..

I mean yeah sure it’s a reliable gun… it’s just the ugly duckling of pistols and feels awkward to hold.

  12. Ernest Walden on November 12, 2021 at 10:38 pm

Told ya. But it did ok as long as it’s clean

  13. David Keetz on November 12, 2021 at 10:39 pm

I’d rather have this than nothing for sure – and I think a big selling point for this as a CCW weapon is that if you ever do find yourself in a situation where you have to use it, you’re not going to be too distraught over losing it to the evidence locker – which absolutely will happen with any firearm you have to use in self-defense – I think a lot of people don’t consider that when they’re using a >700 firearm for their carry gun. Even if it’s totally obvious you are acting within the law and you go through the courts and are acquitted and everything – good luck ever getting that firearm you had to use back – it’s just not going to happen. (*edit* – sometimes your weapon may not get confiscated – I believe this is rare though, as i’ve read more stories of people losing their gun forever than those who were able to keep it – because of this I think it’s better to assume you will have to replace any weapon you end up having to use in self defense)

These tests are extreme …in the extreme. Even simpler cap and ball revolvers and flintlocks wouldn’t survive this sort of test. I thought it did pretty good!

  15. enerZise on November 12, 2021 at 10:46 pm

Four of us have a single .38 special 5 shot revolver… this mathematically is not a viable situation. We were able to put together $400 to go buy another gun and drove to shops all over in an 85 mile radius. We walked into a store that had a Hi point 9mm and a Hi Point .380 and both were $159 each and they were new guns. We were able to buy both as well as plenty of ammo, then this week we went into another store and picked up another 9mm Hi Point for $159 brand new. We noticed the Hi Point .380 and 9mm magazines are identical. We watched a lot of videos on various hand guns and know about the magazines not liking 8 rounds in them. We like the Lifetime Guarantee Hi Point has. We are saving up and will be out over the next few months looking for Hi Point 9mm and .380 carbines and looking for a .22 LR Semi Auto to use for getting used to changing from revolver to semi-auto.

  16. Hal Harmon on November 12, 2021 at 10:47 pm

95% of people shooting a gun is not going to put it through that so I’d say it will work perfect

  17. Mark L on November 12, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Tap the back of the clip on the table it will straighten the rounds out a little and it may not try and chamber nose down

  18. Seth Hardin on November 12, 2021 at 10:47 pm

What’s hilarious is this thing outperformed the canik in this same exact test 😂

  19. Tim Stephenson on November 12, 2021 at 10:50 pm

Let’s see the glocks and other guns put through the same test.

  23. Darrell Fort on November 12, 2021 at 10:54 pm

this is the video that made me go and buy a high point c9. i love my gun

  24. James Morgan on November 12, 2021 at 10:54 pm

How did the glock do in the sand

  25. StonedMexican Guy on November 12, 2021 at 10:55 pm

I like my high point. I noticed it was very cheap for a 9mm . It was my entry into handguns and it still works well. I have never had an issue with it and I’ve shot over 2000 rounds out of it.

  26. JasonUSAF on November 12, 2021 at 10:56 pm

Nothing “little” about that boat anchor lol

  27. Ernest Walden on November 12, 2021 at 10:58 pm

Before I wach entire video Im predicting jam after sand gets in it. I’ll be back after video is finished

  28. Zay Solano on November 12, 2021 at 10:59 pm

Should’ve clean it at the end and shot it one more time for a final result

  29. Nathaniel Shrock on November 12, 2021 at 11:04 pm

A YouTuber that didn’t start the video by bashing the gun and just started running it. That’s refreshing 😄
I just bought a Hi-Point in 45 acp, can’t say I love it or hate it because I’m yet to get ot to the gun range.
I’d love to own a S&W 1911, and will in the future. However, the Hi-Point is what I was able to buy for now.
For my first handgun as well, it’ll be pretty good learn with

  30. big mike longwood on November 12, 2021 at 11:04 pm

I lov how ppl think you can pack mud an dirt in a firearm an expect it to function properly. It amazes me how really uneducated the ppl really are I garuntee you can take my 1911 an stil it in the dirt an blam it’s gonna fail

  31. P G on November 12, 2021 at 11:04 pm

It’s heavy ; but shoots well at the range. I actually like mine. Have a few other weapons that have better features but for 130 dollars, can’t complain. I’d trust it in a self defense situation.

  32. Jimbo Morrison on November 12, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Buy this gun!!! I’m a Glock guy,but I have 3 of these and if you load seven in the mag, ball ammo,it will shoot everytime. Very reliable,no joke. Plus cheap.

  33. Joe Yates on November 12, 2021 at 11:06 pm

I’ve had my Hi-Point 9 mm for almost five years now yes I had a few misfires or Miss loads when I first got it only because I was running 24 grain ammo which the gun shop recommended for it when I stepped up to a heavier grain I found out that the gunfire is much better I found that the heavier the load the better the gun for forms because of the construction and needs a larger grain bullet to make the slide work much better accuracy know it’s not a hundred-yard gun this is a close-range home defense gun since I start up firing heavier rounds out of it I have yet to have a misfire or Miss feed I’ve yet to have any problems whatsoever with his gun you don’t have to adjust or tighten up the barrel every couple rounds you don’t have to do any real work and it’s made in America and it has a lifetime warranty on it in five years I’ve yet to have to replace any part on my gun I love the high point

  34. Apk Darter on November 12, 2021 at 11:08 pm

It kills and it’s not expensive and most people on these channels probably should own one instead of their expensive firearms and save money to put their children through college rather than buying firearms they can’t afford.

  35. sqeekms1 on November 12, 2021 at 11:08 pm

What is this piece of crap high point keep getting recommended to me?

  36. Jonathan Garcia on November 12, 2021 at 11:08 pm

Would you recommend this one as a range gun to run my beginner reloads through?

  37. Jason Spittz on November 12, 2021 at 11:09 pm

Try PMC ammo they never fail in any firearm.

  38. Ha Raffael on November 12, 2021 at 11:11 pm

    The thing is:
That cheap cube is doing great in home defense, since there is no harsh conditions in a house.
All critic points I heard are made by the lack of its abitlity to military grade field stripping, the lack of long range precision as if your home had 50ft rooms, and the lack of military grade dirt and rain reliance as if you live in a WW1 trench

  39. N C on November 12, 2021 at 11:12 pm

Thank you this showed me that this is not the gun for me. You rock dude in testing.

  40. fubuh8r on November 12, 2021 at 11:13 pm

Bryco Jennings 9 remains King! My first pistol when I turned 21. Cracked a frame, firing pin broke, and the chamber indicator broke off and hit me in the face. At least the company took it back and refunded me.

  41. Hatred on November 12, 2021 at 11:15 pm

My Hi-point 995 monkey-gun exploded on my cheek on the 15th round I fired and they sent me brand new fully loaded 995ts.. I HAVENT SHOT IT

  42. Terrence LP on November 12, 2021 at 11:17 pm

HI-Point – affordable gun when you can’t afford the bullets!

  43. Kas Havok on November 12, 2021 at 11:18 pm

As long as i can keep the gun inside of a dresser and not have to worry about it jamming if i have to use it, it’d be perfect for me.

Update: nevermind all i just said…this gun has way too many damn firing issues…

  44. The Creature from the Seventh Chamber on November 12, 2021 at 11:20 pm

the only problem I have with Hi-Points is the cheat metal castings used for their parts. I think that really does a disservice to the people who need to reply on the weapons for self-defense. Especially when literally just dropping the gun can crack the slide. I’ve seen it before if you doubt me. There are videos of people throwing (not even hard) a Hi-Point against a rock and the slide cracking. They didn’t whip it as hard as they could either. I’m talking a toss.

  45. Dennis Gaudet on November 12, 2021 at 11:20 pm

When the bullet wants to go nkse down if you take a round file to the back side of the clip resolvedthe issuefor mine

Watching this whole holding my $130 Hi Point C9. No, I don’t plan on putting it in water, sand, or Doo doo.

  48. Knight Loltrec on November 12, 2021 at 11:23 pm

I think I am the only person on earth who actually likes how these look. The huge slide just looks powerful to me idk.

  49. Wayne T on November 12, 2021 at 11:25 pm

For that price it did pretty good in my opinion.

  50. James Savage on November 12, 2021 at 11:26 pm

I owned a Hi-Point C9. It was really just a heavy, misfeeding POS. It’s one of 2 guns I’ve ever sold. and the only one I don’t regret getting rid of.
