I recently received a 7.62×39 AR Pistol from Radical Firearms. I’ll be honest, I was really looking forward to this little blaster. I like that the round is as cheap as it is and readily available, but the AK platform is admittedly not my favorite. So this has the potential to bridge that gap.

Having said that, things did not go as I would have liked. I’ll be following up with a full review later when I get time behind the gun after getting it back from Radical Firearms. And to their credit, when I reached out and said, hey these are the issues I’m having, they said go ahead and publish the video. Good on them!

First thing I did to both of mine (pistol and carbine) was add an enhanced firing pin and Wolff extra power hammer spring. Both run steel ammo without any misfires. 1000 rounds or more in both without issues.

    I wish I would’ve watched this BEFORE I bought this 🙁

🔴..I THINK THIS GUY IS INTENTIONALLY GIVING RADICAL FIREARMS A BAD REVIEW…THIS GUY SUCKS AND IS BIASED SLANDERING FOOL. STRAIGHT UP ..UNSUBSCRIBING X11 OF US .

  4. Jarrett B. on November 16, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Not the ammo. It’s the gun. I built a 7.62×39 AR and knew about these issues while building it. I put an extended firing pin and an increased power hammer spring and haven’t had one malfunction. Shoots anything I put through it.

  5. Just a Regular Guy on November 16, 2021 at 10:49 pm

modify the firing pin or buy a blackrifle arms ehacned one and youd be good ot go

  6. GeorgeGreen on November 16, 2021 at 10:50 pm

With DI it’s actually better to keep it very lightly oiled. The carbon acts as a dry lubricant but with too much lubrication it becomes sludge.

  7. Joe Gonzalez on November 16, 2021 at 10:51 pm

I had the same issues when I purchased mine. I had to take it back to them 4 times to get it functioning properly. Luckily I live 45 minutes from their shop. I was not happy.

  8. ROSCOE P on November 16, 2021 at 10:51 pm

I put the hyperfire heavy gunner trigger in a lower with a 7.62×39 radical upper. It ran great after that. Military x39 primers are harder

  9. Takumi F on November 16, 2021 at 10:55 pm

Are the rounds safe to handle when they’ve had light primer strikes like that? I see obviously you’re holding them with no issues but idk I like to error on the side of caution.

  10. Mtnbound on November 16, 2021 at 10:55 pm

man you sure got some cold weather charging handle manipulation practice in!

  11. BOO BIZZY on November 16, 2021 at 10:57 pm

    This guy is awesome 👍

  12. bobby o on November 16, 2021 at 10:59 pm

pull the firing pin put it in a drill sand the flang on the long side, same thing they do to a enhanced pin it needs to be longer for the steel ammo

  13. Kekistani Refugee on November 16, 2021 at 11:01 pm

Believe it or not I watched this video AFTER I bought one of these! Luckily I ordered an enhanced firing pin and heavy duty hammer spring right away and have not had one issue in over 100 rounds using both the 20 round and 30 round mags from c-products.

  14. MannyScoots (The Full Armour Of God) on November 16, 2021 at 11:03 pm

For lubrication and rust prevention I have used TW25B Grease for many years and can tell you from experience…..There is nothing that comes close to it…..It’s the best !

  15. Ignacio Ramirez on November 16, 2021 at 11:03 pm

    I didn’t see any ejections

  16. Bryce Harrington on November 16, 2021 at 11:04 pm

$10 enhanced firing pin fixes the issue every time: I don’t understand why all the companies that make the 7.62.x39 uppers don’t just use that out of the gate:

  17. Damian Lopez on November 16, 2021 at 11:04 pm

So was this issue here for not chambering a round?? I’m new to the AR platform…looking into building a pistol very soon! Checking out different companies for parts

  18. Mtnbound on November 16, 2021 at 11:05 pm

watching this in 2021.. so you just left the unfired rounds in the snow? someone’s going to get lucky once the snow melts! just hope they have an ak around instead of that thing!

  19. Richard White on November 16, 2021 at 11:05 pm

Just get you an enhanced firing pin from Black Rifle Arms out of Florida! Done deal, problem solved!

  20. M_ White008 on November 16, 2021 at 11:05 pm

light primer strike, on steel milspec hard primers. You need a hared hammer spring or and an enhanced firing pin

  21. MannyScoots (The Full Armour Of God) on November 16, 2021 at 11:07 pm

That buffer spring didn’t seem to be strong enough, on my AR 7.62×39 it’s hard to charge back without having to put effort into it from the strength of the the Maxim Defense H2 Heavy spring.

  22. Ciscokid Kid on November 16, 2021 at 11:10 pm

Bro love your music. I think we are about the same age or I am older 38. But love the Pennywise.

  23. beretta989 on November 16, 2021 at 11:12 pm

    Did it ever get fixed?

  24. 2nd Amendment Mike on November 16, 2021 at 11:14 pm

    Just buy an AK.

  25. Home Slice on November 16, 2021 at 11:14 pm

Idk man I just the same one and it runs all ammo without a cinch

  26. Laredo 90 on November 16, 2021 at 11:15 pm

I had the same problem after doing some research I ended up buying an enhanced firing pin kit that also came with the extra power trigger spring from BLACK RIFLE ARMS, and my problem was fixed!!!

  27. Oslo 10 on November 16, 2021 at 11:16 pm

spoiler wussy ar-15 cant make the russian ammo go boom

  28. M blue922 on November 16, 2021 at 11:17 pm

    Don’t use garbage ammo

  29. Cerakote Miami on November 16, 2021 at 11:17 pm

Gotta go to a stronger hammer spring with 7.62×39 if you want it reliable with all ammo

  30. James Schneider on November 16, 2021 at 11:19 pm

You have a crazy amount of patience. I would’ve lost my shit. Black Rifle Arms makes enhanced firing pins for these and they fix the light primer strikes.

  31. Gourmet Kamado on November 16, 2021 at 11:21 pm

I have PSA GF3AK never jams on Tula ammo. It seems this one jams way too much, even worst than .22 on my Smith and Wesson .22.

  32. Donald Stoute on November 16, 2021 at 11:21 pm

Wolf brand is literally the cheapest piece o shit ammunition brand on earth. Also 7.62×39 always gives issues I don’t trust this caliber period.

  33. Keith James on November 16, 2021 at 11:21 pm

Was about to buy one to run some surplus steel through. So glad I didn’t. All those clicks and no bangs.

  34. Chris Williams on November 16, 2021 at 11:23 pm

Did you ever fix the problem 2 years later

  35. Rainbo Sprinkles on November 16, 2021 at 11:26 pm

Old vid, but the hand guard on the upper is the same I have on several rifles and pistols. On sale for $40, I love it.

  36. Adam Adams on November 16, 2021 at 11:28 pm

I’ve been really happy with Radical as a company I’ve got 2 now they’ve been great and anyone I know that’s had to deal with customer service has been impressed they usually go above to make it right. Mine are mulit cal. .223 though never messed with the 7.62

  37. Howard Luken on November 16, 2021 at 11:28 pm

Looks like you got a bum gun. I bought a radical firearms 5.56 10 and a half inch barrel and didn’t have any light strikes but I did have some that simply refused to even allow me to pull the trigger. Tried the charging handle and tried releasing the bolt and nothing seemed to work on three or four so not sure if it was operator error or the weapon. I had one jam but that was because I was trying to use this brass catcher Chinese made crap from Amazon and then realized the damn thing was put together incorrectly! They had turned the velcro strap upside down when they put it on so it wouldn’t hold it in place and the brass was hitting the little frame of the bag. Amazon apparently knows that most of their chinese-made crap is crap so they said don’t even bother returning it and gave me my money back. Anyway I put like nine 30 round magazines through it and they were all within a few inches at 50 yards but I still need to adjust it properly. I didn’t do the 10 yd thing but did have a gunsmith who installed the Red Dot said that he adjusted it. I think most of them were going up and left like yours did interestingly enough. What the hell the average antifaturd body may be thin and effeminate but it’s going to strike them and knock them on their ass. Don’t need to shoot the wings off a fly at 50 yards.

    Wow. How frustrating!

  39. Randy Boteilho on November 16, 2021 at 11:30 pm

    Your memory sucks !

  40. Russell on November 16, 2021 at 11:30 pm

I’ve had nothing but issues with ASC magazines. D&H works best for me. Wolf make enhanced firing pin, it goes a bit deeper.

  41. angel gonzalez on November 16, 2021 at 11:33 pm

That’s pretty embarrassing to send a firearm out to test with a 5.56 mag and a standard firing pin.

  42. Jon Conger on November 16, 2021 at 11:34 pm

You need the enhanced firing pin

  43. Will Hayes on November 16, 2021 at 11:35 pm

Watching this is frustrating as hell. Click 🤬

  44. William R Gordon Jr on November 16, 2021 at 11:37 pm

  46. Daniel Dotter on November 16, 2021 at 11:39 pm

Radical Firearms is the gun company America deserves right now…:sigh:

  47. Joe W on November 16, 2021 at 11:39 pm

    That is why I won’t get a 7.62×39 AR…too damn unreliable…

  48. Aaron thornberry T and T Motorsports on November 16, 2021 at 11:41 pm

If the enhanced firing pin didn’t fix it a Wolff extra power hammer spring is your fix. Had the same issue with my 7.62 ar shooting steel cases ammo.

  49. Raging_Rhino on November 16, 2021 at 11:42 pm

Ivan I don’t know if ya solved the issue but I’m betting you need the Black Rifle Arms Enhanced FIring Pin… had same results, then swapped the FP then ran like it should!

  50. cubaniton74 on November 16, 2021 at 11:43 pm

That is a pretty safe firearm to play Russian Roulette with… al it needs is an extended firing pin, and maybe an extra power hammer spring.
Make sure you run C Products Defense (AKA Duramag) magazines, everything else is a gamble, and ASC mags are a piece of sh!t
