Quick Tip: How To Replace Hammer Springs on Hiperfire Triggers
Hiperfire’s Hipertouch AR-15 triggers have earned an excellent reputation for enabling the AR shooter to put a smooth, precise, clean trigger on his or her rifle. Unlike traditional AR-15 triggers, the Hipertouch system uses TWO coiled springs for the hammer, and Hiperfire includes multiple pairs of hammer springs with each trigger, so you can swap them to adjust the pull weight. Heavier springs will help ensure reliable ignition of ammo with hard primers, while lighter springs will give you the best trigger pull. The goal is to choose the lightest springs that still give you reliable ignition. But HOW exactly do you replace the hammer springs? Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb Savant shows us how to make the swap. The good news is you do not have to remove the trigger assembly from the rifle. You’ll need a punch to release the retainer that holds the hammer springs in place. Swap the springs. Then reinstall the retainer – which is a slightly fiddly process, but Caleb shows us the trick for finagling it in place. Do a function check, then hit the range to test out your trigger’s new pull weight!
Is Black Rain AR any good? Quality worth the money? Will you recommend me getting a Black Rain?

Excellent triggers with a ton of options around the $200-250 price point. I run this on my main long range AR setup with the 3.5lb springs.
What is that bench rig you have?
Dang Son where were you a month ago. At 70 yrs old and terrible arthritis I was ready to beat those springs into wheel weights! I appreciate you.
You forget the coffee sip at the end!
Always great stuff
THANKS
Good information! Thanks!
As someone who has only known milspec triggers, all I could think initially was:
“What kind of sorcery is this?!”
