The tri beam is by baby. I’ve leveled my character to be able to at least use most guns, but the tri beam is always my go to, especially the Gun Runners Arsenal version with all mods. It’s just a perfectly consistent weapon.

I have 12 gauge pump action and an over under franchi trap gun both are 12 gauge
I always use slugs or flechet rounds for shotguns so, is the big boomer still gonna be useless?

You can also obtain the tri-beam laser rifle by doing a missing laser pistol quest for Torres (BOS) she gives you the rifle as a reward.
Pretty sure you can get the Big Boomer as a quest reward by saving Rex.
one time I was doing the black mountain quest I just realized I had a shotgun named "Dinner Bell" looked it up and it turns out its one of the best shotguns and I did the quest not for that shotgun but because I wanted to so yeah.

Old Lady Gibson is one of the best merchants in the game, right nearby the best home-base in the game (NOVAC) so uh…no, it’s not worth it to kill her.
She holds 7000 caps at a time. Has great Caravan cards, and consistently sells raw materials for building Weapon Repair Kits.

I’m late but the hunting shotgun, both it’s upgrades, gun skill 70+, shotgun surgeon perk, 2 shots to the head with vats, death claw done.
I like 16 gauges 12 gauges and the american pride 10 gauge double barrel
I use the Single Shotgun because its easy to keep it in good condition. I have a caravan shotgun but it needs to be repaired before I start using it.

There is a whole shotgun that you forgot. It’s been 9 years will. Don’t forget the single shotgun.
The Grabbing glitch still has not been officially patched. If you’re playing Fallout: New Vegas through backwards compatibility on Xbox One, you can still use the glitch to acquire a number of weapons from the Silver Rush in Freeside. Moreover, if you have any Weapon Repair Kits, you can use them to repair any weapons you manage to steal, and sell them back to the vendor if you’d like to purchase something that isn’t on the weapon tables (including anything added in the Gun Runner’s Arsenal DLC).

No, that’s the Hunting Shotgun with the choke mod. Of course, that’s only if you don’t use "True Iron Sights" because in that gun they’re misaligned (I assume they’re also in the DB, never used it) like in some of the rifles yet there doesn’t seem to be a fix around for some reason.
I prefer the lever-action shotgun and use it like a high caliber, armor piercing “rifle” (since it’s technically smoothbore)
– Cowboy Perk for +25% damage for revolvers and lever-action guns
– Shotgun Surgeon for -10 DT
– Slugs + Steady for long range
– 20 ga MAG for close range
