N.R.A. – what the hell happened?

N.R.A. – what the hell happened?

The National Rifle Association for years was known as the best friend to firearms owners in the United States. These days, they are embroiled in controversy on many fronts. Attacks from gun control groups, alleged financial mismanagement, lawsuits, and disgruntled members present serious challenges for the future of the NRA.

I joined it ….and the junk mail and money requested were endless..
    Underwhelmed to say the least..

  2. Gentleman Farmer on October 28, 2021 at 8:28 pm

I said that the NRA was a sell out a few years ago, the amount of calls I get for money and they do nothing for the years of money I have given? I cut them off this year and until they get their act together, and what about supporting the law enforcement officers who need some representation?

    The problem? Simple….Wayne

    Screw the nra

  5. Johnparrilli on October 28, 2021 at 8:31 pm

We are missing a big point here. That being, that one should join or not join one organization or another because one compromises and the other doesn’t or some other, or any host of reasons. The point is to join ALL of the pro 2A groups and show our strength in numbers, without regard to if we agree with everything that the organization stands for. Not our picking of a favorite sports team. This is not a time for a schoolyard squabble. I have been an NRA member since 1970 and will remain a life member, but I will not send them any money until Wayne LaPierre gracefully retires. I will, however, continue my memberships in the other pro2A groups. I believe other gun people should as well.

  6. Ronald Perkins on October 28, 2021 at 8:33 pm

Count me among ex-NRA members who dropped out a few years ago. As you said GOA & other national groups seem to try to represent our interests as you stated. Good video.

If even a small % of ehat i have been hearing is true, Wayne and all his corrupt cronies need to be yhrown out on their tailbones, and prosecuted if appropriate. I upgraded to life membership16 or 17 years ago, mainly to make renewals easier at my gun club. So that was the last time they got any money from me, long begore all the current stuff happened. Years ago my PO box # changed, and i never told them. So i don’t get the magazine anymore, but i also don’t get the junk mail. I get enough other junk mail, believe me. It is time for a change. I can’t believe they are incorporated in NY- i assume that goes back to 1871. They may have to leave VA as well. They were trying to move to TX, but it also sounds like there is some chicanery going on with their request for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. In the news, a judge denied it, which allows NY’s suit to proceed. The organization is solvent, with assets listed at $50 million. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next 6-12 months

  8. The Hunter on October 28, 2021 at 8:36 pm

Wayno and his consorts stole it! After his Rodeo Drive shopping sprees and other expenses there was nothing left for the members. There needs to be a full-blown audit of Wayno & Co. Meantime suspend any payments to them…salary, pensions any bucks from the NRA till. This sh*t’s gotta cease, NOW,!!

  9. Eli on October 28, 2021 at 8:36 pm

Ultra greed is what happened to the NRA… there are people who are in the upper officer holders who think the NRA is their own piggy 🐖 bank 🏦

  10. James Darnell on October 28, 2021 at 8:38 pm

I’ve been a NRA member for fifty years but quit this year. When Wayne LaPierre leaves, I’ll come back. Meanwhile, I’ll stick with Gun Owners of America and the Illinois State Rifle Association.

  11. Rodney R Tennis on October 28, 2021 at 8:39 pm

    No longer a member.🤷‍♂️

  12. Dr. Doom on October 28, 2021 at 8:39 pm

Well I guess the NRA has lost 1.4k members because that’s how many comments there are from people quitting them on this channel. Look, I understand everyone’s frustration with the organization and it’s not right what’s apparently going on but if we don’t support them (at least publicly) and they go down then we all lose and the anti-second amendment people will never let us hear the end of it because the anti-gun crowd and the uninformed public only knows the most prominent name. The head zombie has already beat the NRA twice he claims and if they take us down again we will all be done. At this point I would suggest everyone "bite the bullet" and hang in there till 2022 after the next election then you can quit if the NRA hasn’t pulled their collective heads out of their asses.

  13. Chris Ferrell on October 28, 2021 at 8:42 pm

    They wrote the NFA

  14. Vladimir Lopez on October 28, 2021 at 8:43 pm

The NRA became a joke. The last two times I renewed I never even got my card let alone anything else the said they would send me.

  15. Rob Abbott on October 28, 2021 at 8:47 pm

Constant bombardment for money and knowing Wayne LaPierre’s $6MM/year salary hasn’t helped my incentive to send them more money.

  16. Howard Jeblim on October 28, 2021 at 8:48 pm

I agree with EVERYTHING thing you have said! They need to quit spending millions on sweepstakes and get RID of La piere with his 1.5 million a year salary and all expenses paid! And ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING to preserve 2A! I too no longer give them money but DO support the GOA!!

  17. We the People USA on October 28, 2021 at 8:50 pm

So Supreme court is wiping their ass with the 2nd Amendment what is the NRA gonna do…???
Jan 6th was 100k people with flag poles..
If this fake administration moves forward and the Supreme Court rules We the People will make jan 6th look like Sunday morning at church.

  20. archangele1 on October 28, 2021 at 8:52 pm

yep, all they say is "Your membership dues are not enough!"
    Not

  21. Jim Querin on October 28, 2021 at 8:53 pm

For the last 20 years, I’ve been telling people that the NRA could care less about your guns and your right to own them. All they ever wanted was your undying suppor and your money so that the powers that be can live like kings!…And they have. Do any of you supporters believe that the big names that have run the NRA would do what they do for peanuts? The more they sign up the more they take! Keep your money, anddon"t worry that someone is going to take your guns. They won’t!

  22. Donald Myck on October 28, 2021 at 8:54 pm

I’m a life member of the NRA and also with "Gun Owners Of America". You are absolutely right! The NRA better to get it together and be honest with the membership before they don’t have any membership left.

  23. rand mayfield on October 28, 2021 at 8:56 pm

Six years ago I joined and felt good about it. I payed for a year and then six months later get a renewal statement. I questioned it and got a bizarre double-talk answer that made no sense. In addition, the first six months was nothing more than a constant barrage of them asking for money. As the bad things happen to the NRA it’s their own dam fault because they did it to themselves. Good riddance!

  24. Brandon Wilborn on October 28, 2021 at 8:57 pm

    Agreed the nra has changed

  25. Brian Webb on October 28, 2021 at 8:58 pm

I GOT SO TIRED OF ALL THE JUNK MAIL i WAS GETTING. I didn’t care for the way they were spending my membership money.

  26. Punchin Fatboy on October 28, 2021 at 8:59 pm

junk mail king and always begging for money.

  27. Brandon Wilborn on October 28, 2021 at 8:59 pm

I feel the sane way feel like they were good like 5 years ago feek like part of the organization either sold out or is just pocketing money its sad. I beleive dana leish or whatever is a true supporter and colen noir. But i wont ever support the nra again

  28. J D on October 28, 2021 at 9:00 pm

Wayne is what happened, this individual single handedly destroyed the NRA and my lifetime membership, never another dime will my money support this organization.

  29. Jerry Davis on October 28, 2021 at 9:00 pm

Guess my gun range is under their thumb too as you have to be a member of the NRA to shoot there.👎👎👎👎👎

  30. cd4510 on October 28, 2021 at 9:01 pm

Up until now, I’ve been a member of NRA for 58 years. It was a belief of mine that the NRA truly cared for our Constitution and freedoms. Well that changed and it started since Wayne and LaPierre took the reins and wallered in the stink of Harry Reed. It was then that I realized NRA was no longer for the American people, but only for their own lavish lifestyles. perhaps I may rejoin when LaPierre and Wayne leaves and the NRA returns to being the solid dedicated organization of over 100 years.

That one picture should have said "THE LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH AND SHAMELESS"!!!!!!!!

  32. Tony Southern on October 28, 2021 at 9:01 pm

Imagine all the money they could have saved if they had stopped sending out all that mail asking for more money and all those drawings. That’s why I left!

  33. Hoosier Plowboy on October 28, 2021 at 9:02 pm

NRA Life Member, but recently donated to Firearms Policy Coalition, 2A Foundation, Judicial Watch, and joined GOA. These front line organizations need our support, as well…

  34. yoblob34 on October 28, 2021 at 9:03 pm

If NY would keep their criminals in jail instead of turning them out into the streets there would be much less murders and misuse of guns in their state this lawsuit is a misuse of political power and is simply stupid it’s no secret why crime is rampant in NY it’s the criminals not the guns.

  35. Morad Alamzad on October 28, 2021 at 9:03 pm

Gun ownership and gun-schooling is a right every nation , community ought to have in order to self defence and limiting state’s/government ‘s deep corruption ,abuse and complete takeover of power. Rest of the world must follow and adapt this American second amendment …your forefathers foresaw the level of corruption & power abuse …. Gun ownership and gun schooling for every decent soul on earth🏹👍🙏🎯

  36. Bruno's bay on October 28, 2021 at 9:04 pm

Yes !, what did happen. I’ve been a member for 25 years. Got a call the other day, stated my thoughts to the NRA person, received a robotic dismissal from her as she read a scripted pitch.
    No thanks.

  37. Dwayne 73 on October 28, 2021 at 9:05 pm

I wish I could quit the NRA but it is a requirement to be a member at my local rifle range. I prefer GOA and NJ2AS. The NRA has done absolutely nothing for us in New Jersey.

  38. Kpex 2019 Smith on October 28, 2021 at 9:05 pm

There’s scammers they just tell you things so that I want you to join to try to scary in joining ain’t nobody going to take your guns and less you get in trouble get a felony or something yeah I don’t worry about them

  46. Dan Wineinger on October 28, 2021 at 9:16 pm

You are able to get your name off the mailing lists, and it says a lot about members that believe interloper about funds and how they are spent.

  47. Carl Griffith on October 28, 2021 at 9:21 pm

When they supported the bump stock ban, they lost me. GOA and SAF seem to be the best bet for your money now.

  48. GREY ALIEN on October 28, 2021 at 9:21 pm

We dont need the nra to bear arms . I have 2 hands . I dont give any money to anyone . no streaming no internet no donations nothing why would u give away money

  49. CM on October 28, 2021 at 9:22 pm

The nra is the worst gun rights group, however they get the most negative attention, so it good to have them as a "human shield" to protect better groups.

  50. Ruben Moreno on October 28, 2021 at 9:23 pm

After 25 years of membership with the NRA I also let go.
