M&P M2.0 4" Compact Optics Ready | Smith & Wesson's CORE redone!

M&P M2.0 4" Compact Optics Ready | Smith & Wesson's CORE redone!

The Smith & Wesson M2.0 CORE Compact is the Glock 19 gen 5 MOS rival for fighting concealed carry pistol with optics ready capability. The CORE systems the M2.0 uses to mount optics to the Compact allows screws to be threaded into the slide.

what holster do you have for your m&p9 compact with red dot sight. please advice.

  2. r6duck on November 11, 2021 at 6:05 pm

I want to really not like this gun but I handled it and may have to shelf the 365 for one. Just on grip texture alone.

  3. Derek Radcliffe on November 11, 2021 at 6:06 pm

Why don’t they make the sub-compact size optics ready?

  4. P Wilson on November 11, 2021 at 6:08 pm

Bought one of these to transition to Carry Optics (had enough of major/minor). This is very easy to shoot, and feels natural in the hand. I was able to earn a higher class first time used in competition. You can find magazines for $33 (if lucky). And HYVE makes a base plate that will add 3 rounds, meaning usually only one reload required. Unless it’s crazy side match that includes spinner and couple of Texas stars.

  5. Signs Of The Times on November 11, 2021 at 6:09 pm

Did you use the shorter or longer screws that came with the holosun?

  6. Mike Kraemer on November 11, 2021 at 6:10 pm

The manual safety looks very similar to Sigs M18 safety, can you comment on that? I like a safety like that!

  7. Greaterpurpose 13 on November 11, 2021 at 6:12 pm

I have this same exact gun with an Apex trigger, Holosun 507c X2 red dot and Streamlight TLR 7A. FANTASTIC EDC!! I shoot this way better than my Glock 19 Gen 5 Mos. I did remove the thumb safety cause it interfered with my grip (super easy to do) …then all I did was call Smith & Wesson and had them ship me the free thumb safety plugs (if you remove them) but you will have to pay for shipping.
    SKU 13143 w/o thumb safety
    SKU 13144 w/ thumb safety
This gun is amazing!!! Highly recommend!

I don’t know I’m not all impressed with odysee. It’s hard to use their website, hard to remember to use their website oh, the only way this is going to work is if we all go there! And yes I’d like to see YouTube piss up a rope! Good video on the gun I’ll take a look at it!

Thanks for Great S&W 2.0 Review. Bill

  10. My Topic’S & Opinion’S on November 11, 2021 at 6:13 pm

I blacked out my back to sites and use some enamel paint orange color and filled in the front sight.. I don’t know why I paid for MOS on my Glock 19 and I paid extra for optic ready on my Smith and Wesson.. lol i guess its good to have.. to be honest I didn’t even know what MOS stage for but I bought it at Academy and this past year u got to get what you get at the stores LOL

  11. Aslan Bosnakoglu on November 11, 2021 at 6:14 pm

could you do a video on magazine reliability. i am having sand issues during competition 😤😤

  12. awoke one on November 11, 2021 at 6:15 pm

Surprise you actually reviewed a M2.0 but like always, great review and very informative. Love my 2.0c and 5", great guns. You should try a Floyd’s custom port 5" M2.0

  13. Opiemach1 on November 11, 2021 at 6:19 pm

    YouTube cares about modified firearms?

  14. j dash on November 11, 2021 at 6:21 pm

That’s okay…. Because the p30 doesn’t have an optic cut

  15. John Phillips on November 11, 2021 at 6:22 pm

The grip texture tears clothing and tears the skin on the torso when carried concealed. The localnpolice departments banned all thr M&P M2.0 pistols, because the grips tore up the seat belts in cars and the upholster in the police cars. S&W really messed up.

  16. Aggro'd Kreg on November 11, 2021 at 6:24 pm

I’m still rocking a Gen 1 5" ported M&P and Gen 1 Shield. People now look at them in competitions locally and go "respect". I find it pretty hilarious.

And yes, I do carry the Shield in a fanny pack. They’re completely normal in tropical islands. 🤣

  17. S Plunkett on November 11, 2021 at 6:25 pm

I have a Harry’s Holsters Singleton for this gun with a Vortex optic. Although the gun is bit heavy for me for EDC, the Singleton is an excellent holster at a fair price, especially with your discount code.

  18. 7ordank on November 11, 2021 at 6:28 pm

I can’t decide if I want the full size or compact I already have an original 2.0 compact

  19. Hank on November 11, 2021 at 6:29 pm

When you mounted the holosun did you use the screws included with the optic? Mine has detached in 2/3 range sessions

  20. Christopher Lawrence on November 11, 2021 at 6:30 pm

How do you like this compared to your Glock 19 MOS?

  21. Tommy J on November 11, 2021 at 6:31 pm

The mag cost is only a result of the pandemic. I got the non-optic version when in first came out and the mags were in the $25-30 range. Nice video!

  22. David J on November 11, 2021 at 6:31 pm

this is my favorite gun with the apex flat trigger and sro

  23. j dash on November 11, 2021 at 6:33 pm

What kind of eye protection is that

  24. Joe Bowman on November 11, 2021 at 6:33 pm

I have several M&Ps but plan to pick up my first CORE this week. I really like em.

  25. DTOM American on November 11, 2021 at 6:37 pm

I have 2 of these as the standard non-optic version. Great pistol. Been carrying it for 3 years. 1 of them has about 8k through it with no problems. Pandemic has messed things up. Mags were definitely cheaper before. Buddy bought one for $350 with the night sights and 3 mags from local rural king last year. Funny you are not able to run this gun as fast… I’m able to track sights and get consistent .18 splits if not a little faster at times…I’m debating getting the optics ready. Good review

  26. 1hardluk on November 11, 2021 at 6:39 pm

Your far more of a glock fan buy so why would you like the M&P over a glock ?? Some of use don’t like glocks in general .

  27. Just Fun Gaming on November 11, 2021 at 6:40 pm

thinking about making this my first gun purchase because i want to have a light and red dot with having to pay extra for the slide cut out

  28. Jonathan L on November 11, 2021 at 6:40 pm

How’s it compare to the CZ P10F OR?

  29. topcow23 on November 11, 2021 at 6:45 pm

    Nice new lighting setup

  30. J Kim on November 11, 2021 at 6:48 pm

    Glock triggers suck

  31. Dan89yj on November 11, 2021 at 6:49 pm

New Sub. Loving the channel and the Expert Insight. CORE vs Springfield OSP you’ve been shooting lately.
For all around fun shooting, range gun and possibly some competition…….down the road. Love the look of the Springfield I gotta say. You only get one ? Thanks, Dan

  32. youmasajp on November 11, 2021 at 6:50 pm

I find myself sinking deeper and deeper in this channel. A humble thank you (light pun intended) and keep up the great work!

  33. P on November 11, 2021 at 6:51 pm

    Another great review.

  34. Ghost Bear on November 11, 2021 at 6:52 pm

Anyone have any luck blocking the witness hole with JB Weld or just redirecting the gases away from the red dot?

  35. Wayne Lassiter on November 11, 2021 at 6:53 pm

What screws did you use for the holosun507c

  36. ETomatoeMan on November 11, 2021 at 6:53 pm

    Noob question:
What makes more expensive than my SD9VE beside the "optics ready"?
I’m just trying to figure out what would make anyone want to dump their SD9VE for this.

  37. lon242 on November 11, 2021 at 6:53 pm

I really like the M&P 2.0, that large backstrap just works with my hands real well. Anyone have a solution for the LCI dirtying up the red dot glass? I was thinking of getting an SRO. Its protruding hood doesn’t protect it from getting dirty, does it?

  38. Justin Time on November 11, 2021 at 6:53 pm

ACT Mag has a 17 round M&P mag available for around $20. You can pick them up at Greg Cote LLC. They are made in Italy by Mec-Gar, who is the OEM for a ton of mags out there including a lot of Sig’s mags. If you’re running a Floyd’s magwell on the compact optics ready featured in this video, the 17 rounders fit without too much of a gap. ACT Mag also has P320 mags around the same price.

  39. Chris F on November 11, 2021 at 6:54 pm

The fact that it comes truly optics ready (including sights) and has option for a usable safety really make this stand out

  40. Alan Pruett on November 11, 2021 at 6:55 pm

I like the looks of the M&P 2.0, but have not shot one. I’ll have to do something about that.

  41. phildnice on November 11, 2021 at 6:55 pm

Does anyone happen to have a ETA on a full size with front serrations,

  42. J Kim on November 11, 2021 at 6:56 pm

I prefer the hinge trigger over the flat one on other guns I put a OverWatch precision on my glock 19x and it bites my finger all the time

  43. Viperoutlaw1776 on November 11, 2021 at 6:58 pm

    Optic for a hipster FIG.

  44. Lamar Walker on November 11, 2021 at 6:58 pm

I wanna see him in competition with the #HonestOutlaw

  45. Brett Fett on November 11, 2021 at 6:58 pm

PLEASE make the new front slide serrations standard across the 2.0 lineup. I don’t even use front serrations that much, but the OPTION is what’s important (and they look so much better too imo)

  46. Steve Strawmatt on November 11, 2021 at 7:01 pm

I purchased this recently, seriously love it, no safety though.

  47. mo hawk on November 11, 2021 at 7:02 pm

I got this and am having hard time finding a holster. It has and extended slide catch/release and doesn’t fit any of the M&P holster correctly.

  48. 2A Cafe on November 11, 2021 at 7:02 pm

Great review – Just purchased an Ed Brown "Fueled" 4.25" Full Size M&P 2.0… The grip is worlds better than the other manufacturer. This could become my EDC as well! Just need to get an AIWB holster – which are pretty much 4-10 weeks away from … everybody

  49. John Kaste on November 11, 2021 at 7:03 pm

Family just picked one up for $670 in Illinois. O sorry “Hellinois”

  50. Lazvt84 on November 11, 2021 at 7:03 pm

You didn’t find a proverbial hair in the soup?! Actually, GREAT review….love my 1.0 with the Apex. Do the Shield Plus next!
