I won’t go into details but due to an injury, my hands were reconstructed it was pretty bad so a 380 sounds nice at this time, the EZ sounds like a very good possibility !!

I could only afford to get one handgun for around the house and I saw this gem for only $400 brand new in the box and my god am I glad I got it. It’s so easy to shoot/manipulate and I just absolutely love it.

  3. whooops61 on November 24, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I had the same malfunction with mine in the first day shooting it. Just had to happen during my C&C test.
    I still passed !!!
    Love this little guy!

  4. Robert Peters on November 24, 2021 at 10:16 pm

The last round in the magazine would be as far forward as it could go, maybe that has something to do with the malfunction.

  5. Shane Bradley on November 24, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Always enjoy this man’s videos. I would love to have the chance to meet him. Always awesome views on guns of any kind. Very helpful

Just beginning to have an interest, need for one. I am a first time gun looking woman in my 60’s and want to have protection. Never fired a fire arm. Just beginning the search for what would be easiest and safest. Any thoughts. Watching your info on the S&W m+p Shield EZ…… This one looked good any other recommendations? Thanks for your videos!!!

I bought one of these in 2019 (the performance center version) because I have some arthritis in my hands, I can rack the slide with 2 fingers easily. I LOVE THIS GUN! Have had a few ejection failures on the last shot but I replaced the springs in the mags and voila! No more problems!

    Lol @ smoke sum pot

  9. Jeff Fradsham on November 24, 2021 at 10:20 pm

When I opened mine, new inthe box, the barrel was dry. I had to oil ,the whole firearm. The malfunction my be caused by the tilting barrel not returning to the loading position correctly, cauding the cartridge to hit the end of he load ramp.

  10. hickok45 on November 24, 2021 at 10:21 pm

We had already filmed this video, but a viewer wrote and shared that his Shield 380 EZ did the same thing with the last round, with both magazines. Guess it’s something to watch for.

I do hate the grip safety.

  13. TXGRunner on November 24, 2021 at 10:25 pm

…and that’s why a gun needs to be fired a few hundred rounds before counting on it for self-defense. I just picked up one of these for my ex. For some people, this gun is ideal. Just test it, get familiar with it, and work out any bugs first thing. S&W customer service is excellent and they’ll get any issues resolved quickly.

  14. Heisenberg on November 24, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Really good gun for the money.

  15. Gary Greene on November 24, 2021 at 10:30 pm

I bought this for my wife, who has MS. She has no problem manipulating the slide, whereas with other firearms, she had trouble. The .380 is a lighter shooting round as well, so she can handle it competently.

    Nice for me old guy

  18. J Katt on November 24, 2021 at 10:34 pm

A different weapon I know. But 35 years ago my Dad had a .30 carbine and it would eject a unspent round along with the spent round. And we were told it was the spring in that magazine. We stopped using that one and problem disappeared.

  19. Charles Vickers on November 24, 2021 at 10:36 pm

My bersa 380 would do the same ,kicking a live round out the top

    💯

  23. troygl65 on November 24, 2021 at 10:45 pm

I bought one I love it!

  24. Kris 401 on November 24, 2021 at 10:46 pm

    In terms of power etc.. it goes . 22 .25 then .380 Then 9mm so it’s basically a .30

  25. Jennifer Jones on November 24, 2021 at 10:49 pm

I’m a 51 year old woman and I bought this gun a week ago (this is my first hand gun) and I like it. It has made me more comfortable around guns and I signed up for a series of trainings to make me a trained and responsible gun owner. I bought a shotgun before I got this gun but I had difficulty racking the shotgun so my Instructor recommended this to me.

  26. Richard Lacker on November 24, 2021 at 10:49 pm

Due to old age and failing health I recently bought one of these guns, I
like it a lot. However when it arrived in came without any safety.
Does anyone know if it is safe to carry with a round in the chamber with
only the grip safety? I have an inside the waistband holster that is
    very tight.

  27. Roger Williams on November 24, 2021 at 10:51 pm

I just sold a new SCCY 9 and bought one of these. My sister-in-law has one and i liked it. I have some arthritis in my hands also. And being older the wrist aren’t as strong as they use to be either, so the 9 kicked too hard. I really think this 380 EZ will be the answer.

  28. TheClaudfry on November 24, 2021 at 10:51 pm

You are terrific! Such an awesome shooter!

  29. Kyler Rogers on November 24, 2021 at 10:51 pm

    Nice guitar.

  30. Darrel Parlapiano on November 24, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Bought one last year and love it

  31. Jeff Gary on November 24, 2021 at 10:55 pm

It’s very easy to limp wrist it apparently. I only have issues when I try to top off the gun, but I’ve brought people shooting who have limp wristed it and it didn’t fully chamber often enough.

  32. Ty Crane on November 24, 2021 at 10:57 pm

All pistols should be considered defensive, As far as I’m concerned

  33. Les Neumann on November 24, 2021 at 10:58 pm

    95gr. HP FMJ BEST

  34. Mike Hamilton on November 24, 2021 at 10:58 pm

I purchased mine in 2021 – January and have 500 rounds (Hard Ball and JHP) through it with no malfunction. It’s a sweet shooter.

  35. Brad Birch on November 24, 2021 at 10:58 pm

My first gat as of today, I asked my friend working the counter for a "gun for old ladies or infants" and this was the only thing I could rack back

  36. Thomas McCallister on November 24, 2021 at 10:59 pm

I get the same malfunction on my .380 EZ w the last round. Could be the spring but it’s happened twice in two range tests in a row. No other malfunction. I just drop, rack and load, then rack

  37. Ohmyqwad on November 24, 2021 at 11:02 pm

I have the same issue with mine, both mags. wish I knew what the problem was, it’s too unreliable as is

  38. Christi Villegas on November 24, 2021 at 11:02 pm

I just bought this gun and let me tell you, its a wonderful gun, i think its good not only for beginnerss but for everyone ! Easy to shoot, easy to rack, and the re coil is wonderful, not to mention its the perfect size! Im a 28 year old male by the way!!!!

  39. dayangross on November 24, 2021 at 11:02 pm

Bought one of these yesterday as a carry piece in .380. Put 100 rounds through it today of carry and defense ammo and no issues. Super light to carry and fun to shoot. Like the idea of 2 safeties and thumb safety well positioned. Rode thumb safety comfortable when firing. For my small hands, easily able to access controls 1 handed without changing position on grip. At 7.5 yards, if I did my part, holes in paper touching. Shot a few at 15 yards for fun and had acceptable grouping. Also needed no sighting in as was spot on with factory settings. Need to cover the target with sights. Highly recommend for new and order shooters.

My wife carries the Shield 380 EZ. I personally carry the Shield 9mm EZ.

  41. Rick Johnson on November 24, 2021 at 11:02 pm

I own a 380 ez and had the same malfunction of a round jumping out of the chamber. That happened within 20 or 30 rounds. I have put 200+ rounds through the weapon and have not have a repeat. It seems to be a function of breaking the weapon in. On occasion I still have the slide not stay open on the final round of the mag. The one other problem I have encountered is that when you have one in the chamber and a full magazine sometimes it is too tight for the second round to chamber properly to fire. I need to call S&W to see if they have a resolution to that particular problem. Right now I go with 7 in the magazine with one in the chamber and have no problem. Otherwise I find this a wonderful gun to shoot!

  42. Benjamin on November 24, 2021 at 11:05 pm

Bass pro got it with a m&p range bag and 5 mags for $499 👍🏻

  43. AgentBacchus on November 24, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Checked this video out before buying one. I love mine very light recoils almost none. Barely noticed

  44. caladbolgx2002 on November 24, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Hey @hickok45 I have cerebral palsy so my left side has very limited mobility and is weak and I hoping to get my (good) hand on this gun. I can let you know how a disabled person like me can use it sometime down the line

  45. TheClaudfry on November 24, 2021 at 11:08 pm

Wow….You sound just like your Dad!

  46. Jessica Martinez on November 24, 2021 at 11:09 pm

What is the price range ?

  47. Steve H. on November 24, 2021 at 11:09 pm

I would never utilize those ugly rails.

  48. Kyler Rogers on November 24, 2021 at 11:10 pm

    Nice intro shooting those "guys".

  49. George Gee on November 24, 2021 at 11:11 pm

My only complain is capacity. You have smaller 380 pistols with higher capacity than this.

  50. Jesus alejandro Rosas on November 24, 2021 at 11:12 pm

I think malfunction is caused because low force ez slide return.
