would love to see you do a review of the model 19 carry comp. it looks like a really cool carry revolver.

  2. Ben Diehl on November 15, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Could you put older style grips on this, will they fit right?

  3. Adrien Dougere on November 15, 2021 at 10:03 pm

Great that this one is ok

  4. sacredmusicguy on November 15, 2021 at 10:03 pm

Sorry, I don’t like that this modern "classic" has the round butt frame instead of the square butt frame. You can clearly see the difference when the camera closes in on the original 19’s. Not 100% a deal-breaker, but combined with some of the other things you’ve pointed out before, I’d rather put my money into a police trade-in, original 19. Thanks for the vid tho.

  5. Jim G on November 15, 2021 at 10:05 pm

Pitiful excuse of a fine classic revolver. Anyone who owns an older Smith revolver or who has ever owned one will know.

  6. ZFlyingVLover on November 15, 2021 at 10:07 pm

They should issue this in 3.5" barrel to make it like a 27-2 reissue. 27-2 in roundbutt would be the perfect revolver.

  7. Frog Taxi on November 15, 2021 at 10:08 pm

the old smiths are not superior to the new production . now the 543 million youtube gun x perts that purchased they’re first glock 19 last week will tell me why im wrong.

  8. P Begich on November 15, 2021 at 10:09 pm

I know you’re not a gunsmith as I’ve heard you say repeatedly in your videos and your criticisms of the model 19-9 when comparing to the old model 19 are way off base. You might want to view GunBlue490’s take in "The new S&W Model 19 Classic – A S&W Armoror’s Review" which was published on 12/15/19. It supports all of my previous comments on this video and goes even further in lauding its improvements over the old model. Very good video and the reasons for praise are all explained.

  9. afc 1911 on November 15, 2021 at 10:11 pm

Sorry Hickok new S&W revolvers are not the best quality anymore. I bought all the older models on the after market after a new model 29-10 blew up in my hand. And every problem you were having with that .357 is identical to the problem I had with my .44 mag before it blew up in my hand. Good call putting it down when you did.

  10. AzAcer1 on November 15, 2021 at 10:11 pm

Watched them both. Thank you for the follow up and demonstration. Great video!

  11. pekolucky on November 15, 2021 at 10:12 pm

Glad to see that this one worked! Hope the hand heals as well.

  12. David 8719 on November 15, 2021 at 10:13 pm

I noticed the grips on this gun model 19 are deferent than the first video did they come out with 2 deferent color grips ???

  13. J S on November 15, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Watched your video of why you carry five in a single action colt revolver. Would this revolver go off if you hit the hammer too? does it apply to all revolvers or just single action colt?

  14. peteralexben on November 15, 2021 at 10:17 pm

hello .do you tell sometime what the problem was ,with the lock up and spitting of the S&W mod 19 classic in the first video

  15. danes85 on November 15, 2021 at 10:19 pm

Just picked one of these beauties up off of Buds, looking forward to getting to the range with it in a couple of days. Always have loved the look of the Model 19, and these videos definitely helped solidify my opinion of it and I feel helped me make an informed choice.

  16. ruben garza on November 15, 2021 at 10:19 pm

I’m getting one from buds this week love the smiths!

    About 941 jericho metal frame?

  21. Perkky on November 15, 2021 at 10:25 pm

ive had this gun for years its still pretty and well ive never had any problom

  22. Brokemule on November 15, 2021 at 10:26 pm

The new design locks up tight and the yoke has to be cleaned. The cylinder doesn’t have much wiggle but it has to be taken out and you have to clean the yoke more than a older Smith &Wesson

I love this gun. I have an N frame Patrolman my grandfather gave me

  27. oldtractorsandfarming on November 15, 2021 at 10:36 pm

    Very nice

  28. Lu on November 15, 2021 at 10:36 pm

I was considering the md 19 until you experienced issues on the first video. Have you heard back what was the issue with the first firearm? It would be good to know so we can all watch for it.

  29. Anton Markov on November 15, 2021 at 10:37 pm

I actually see the bullets when you’re aiming for the gong 😲

  30. Chef Di' on November 15, 2021 at 10:39 pm

They say these new ones are made better ….I don’t know about that…it’s a nice looking gun, either way sw is a great company and stand by their guns with a life time warranty…

  31. rednecknickell on November 15, 2021 at 10:39 pm

my favorite S&W. My dad carried his as a probation and parole officer for over 20 years, and still carries it after retirement. That was the revolver I cut my teeth on when first started teaching me to shoot a revolver when I was about 10 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Both of my DA revolvers are rugers, but i’ll always love that Model 19.

  32. bradley mckenzie on November 15, 2021 at 10:41 pm

  35. Peter Griffin on November 15, 2021 at 10:42 pm

They screwed this classic up with that barrel sleeve… I dont want one now. They cheapend up on the wood grips as well.

  36. Anthony Post on November 15, 2021 at 10:43 pm

I want to know more about the splashback. My 586 classic had the same issue. I am still a smith fan though and there is a model 19 classic at my LGS. I would be hesitant to buy it though knowing these issues exist.

  37. Bob Onthis on November 15, 2021 at 10:44 pm

Every gun company has their hiccups once in awhile. I purchased classic series 29-10 4" barrel last month and ran about 500 rounds through it so far, and not a single glitch.

  38. Charles Lee on November 15, 2021 at 10:45 pm

I had a S&W 357 mag at one point that I had bought used, and when I would shoot I would feel little pieces of debris. Well not being extremely knowledgeable with revolvers I thought this was part of shooting them.
However I eventually sold it to a guy and after shooting it he noticed a piece of lead between the frame and the cylinder. He took a picture of it and sent it to me and asked if it had ever happened to me. I told him no, but offered to buy the pistol back if he wasn’t happy with it. He kept it and talked to a gun shop who sent it to Smith and Wesson to have it checked out and they came back and said that the cylinder and the barrel were out of alignment. I have no if it was like that when I bought it or maybe it got knocked around or what, but thinking back, it’s pretty scary to think of what could have happened.

  39. kissfannnn on November 15, 2021 at 10:48 pm

I just bought a brand new one of those this morning

  40. Kyle Wood on November 15, 2021 at 10:48 pm

Shit happens…glad #2 worked out, I love the 19! Probably my favorite, that and the 686.

  41. Tommy Ribs on November 15, 2021 at 10:50 pm

I am not a fan of the Key Lock S&W’s, but this model 19 really looks like a great shooter.

  42. appalachian knight on November 15, 2021 at 10:51 pm

Listen’, I am 44 years old but when I finally grow up I want to be Hickok 45. God bless!

  45. peter gordon on November 15, 2021 at 10:53 pm

Love the hand cannons, a real thrill to blast away, can’t match your accuracy, you didn’t smoke pot, a fan favorite.

  46. Gs Wovoka on November 15, 2021 at 10:53 pm

Hey Hickock45. Just went to BunketBranding and they won’t tell shipping until you fill out all the forms. Well I left the site without my mug! Too bad. Thanks for all you have taught me about guns! I am a little older than you, but didn’t start out with pistols until I was 70. Now I am a revolver guy for the most part (1 glock 21). I owen 3 357 magnums. One is a model 19-4 that i just got. That gun makes me a better shot!

  47. antoniovega414 on November 15, 2021 at 10:54 pm

Can someone please help me out here.I have a Smith and Wasson model 19-1 and i would like to know how much is worth. Thank you

  48. Thomas Peak on November 15, 2021 at 10:55 pm

What type of ammo is he using

  49. Dan Drake on November 15, 2021 at 10:55 pm

Hickok, great video. You may want to try the Model 19 carry comp which is a 3 inch (your favorite) performance center version with a compensated barrel.
