There was a recall on them. If cpd didn’t send them to get fixed. Who is at fault. They could have driven there to get fixed.

  2. Crystal Masters on November 18, 2021 at 6:26 pm

    Shelf it immediately!!!

  3. Sean O'Keefe on November 18, 2021 at 6:26 pm

So what happens if an unarmed innocent civilian is struck by a round from a weapon known to the city to be unserviceable ? What would the string of lawsuits look like if they continue to carry the weapon ?

  4. Rupert Johnson on November 18, 2021 at 6:27 pm

Has military had problems? I got the 509 for me I liked it better didn’t care for drop in trigger and bottom half to change fit for different size hands. I’ve not heard of them having this mpany problems which doesn’t mean much just saying. Was going to be my next purchase but, how I’ve got to go to my local shop and take a better look

SOUNDS LIKE A LYING COP JUST TRYING TO CASH IN. OR HE MAY JUST CASH OUT ???

  6. Lisa Negra on November 18, 2021 at 6:29 pm

Imagine this will now be added to the excuses given by officers when they murder civilians "accidentally"
Sig should counter sue the PDs still using these weapons as they will try to sue again.

    find that hard to believe

Someone might also collect a firearm for that reason . UFC Michael Bisping was asked repeatedly to be kicked by a UFC fan yes Michael kicked him hard but he the fan sued him intentionally . Some folk save cards during card games . Cheats . Recalls happen even to 1998 Honda civic owner’s year’s later . But does the public listen ? I’m more knowledgeable than a police officer when finding a firearm on school campus smh . And more knowledgeable than a Big5 or Cabelas store worker at least on par or above .

  11. Rupert Johnson on November 18, 2021 at 6:37 pm

Sounds hard to believe, could these mishaps be from Democrat usage, seems to me they don’t know anything about a firearms.

  12. Dmitrik Guajardo on November 18, 2021 at 6:38 pm

    Life changing injury?

  13. Charles Price on November 18, 2021 at 6:38 pm

Sigs had a problem with going off when dropped, not just firing for no reason. Sounds like police may be using this to cover their negligent discharges. Police have more negligent discharges than any gun owner, and they shot themselves with glocks all the time as well. It even has a name, Glock leg. Some tried to blame Glock for their own mistakes as well.

  14. Robert Cope on November 18, 2021 at 6:40 pm

Simple thing. Everyone seems to want the news thing. Even though the older models worked just fine. Just pick any consumer product. Doing away with safeties seems to be the new fad in handguns. Gun goes off "You pulled the trigger!" but with no safety any object moving the trigger will release the striker and bang.

  15. Steve Leung on November 18, 2021 at 6:40 pm

Normally one should look the firearm into the holster, meaning you check holster first before inserting firearm, checking after? hmmmmmm

  16. james chanin on November 18, 2021 at 6:40 pm

    HK is better

    p320 is a awesome gun

  19. Locke99GS on November 18, 2021 at 6:42 pm

Strange that, aside from the drop issue that has been corrected via recall, how none of these issues of weapons firing without their trigger being pulled occurred when the weapon was in the holster, but only when the weapon was in the _hand_ .

    HMMMMMMMMM

  20. Cowboy X on November 18, 2021 at 6:42 pm

And yet this is the new M17, which supposedly beat the FN 509?

  24. Larry Smith on November 18, 2021 at 6:48 pm

Almost all our military carries this POS. And yes I know about the recall and upgrade. Still a crappy gun. Ill stick with my M&P 2.0

  25. Nick V on November 18, 2021 at 6:50 pm

Striker fired guns should have a firing pin block, and a zero force trigger, so it is not "cocked" all the time. Quit trying to save money on dangerous second rate equipment.πŸ‘πŸ‘

  26. James Rogers on November 18, 2021 at 6:50 pm

Luckily there was a van load of people with badge cam’s. As we all know "no video, it didn’t happen".

  27. Grey Jay on November 18, 2021 at 6:53 pm

Too many unexplained incidents here, to exonerate Sig. There is a defect in the design or manufacture of this weapon. Were I in the Cambridge or Somerville PD, I would categorically refuse to carry a department-issued Sig. There are other semiautos and revolvers (both foreign and domestic)
which are safe, in the hands of an experienced user.

  28. GOOD CITIZEN on November 18, 2021 at 6:55 pm

    I carry the Glock 10mm .

Sig P-226 mk 25 has worked for me… (as well as the 365 SAS) buy your own gun, or FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS RECALL AND GET YOUR WEAPON MODIFIED.

This is the handgun the military chose over the M9A3? 🀣

  33. Brian Johnson on November 18, 2021 at 6:59 pm

Why was their a failure to send it back and have them fixed, looks like someone is out for an early retirement to me

  34. Dan Stone on November 18, 2021 at 7:02 pm

These officers I believe are lying through their teeth!
    Not surprised!

  35. Dave Cummings on November 18, 2021 at 7:03 pm

Glock handguns have been in use with police departments, federal law enforcement agencies, and special operations units like the GIGN, the GSG-9 and the Israeli Secret Service for over 30 years. They have an incredible track record of reliability. While every other gun manufacturer has tried to imitate the Glock, they just can’t compare to Glock’s perfection. So why bother purchasing an imitation?

  36. Josh Randall on November 18, 2021 at 7:06 pm

I’m calling BS. Glock fanboys at work.

  37. Kurt King on November 18, 2021 at 7:08 pm

There has to be more to this that is not being reported. Sig is a reputable company, if it were a hi-point I would be more inclined to believe it. I also know there are alot of cops that accidentally discharge their service pistol and shoot themselves. Mainly do to the fact police officers aren’t that smart. In my local PD I know of 4 incidents 2 shot a finger off "cleaning" the gun and the other 2 shot upholstering 1 through apartment floor the other through wall into neighbors house. The one thing in common their finger was on trigger which you are tought not to do unless your gonna shoot. My experience with guns 35+ years they dont fire unless you pull the trigger and I shot 100’s of different gun

  38. Matt Marzula on November 18, 2021 at 7:08 pm

You know… This is a story that goes back four years and is essentially three years old.

  39. CharlieRocRevolution on November 18, 2021 at 7:10 pm

You can fix that bullshit by purchasing Glocks. Just sayin’.

  42. brian adkins on November 18, 2021 at 7:17 pm

he said he removed it from holster looking for something blocking it. was in hand when this happened!!! why did he remove from holster in first place in a car full of people? sounds like something there not saying.

  43. Anthony A. on November 18, 2021 at 7:19 pm

    They should have bought Glock.

There was a recall trashachusetts! Moron cops!

  46. Robert Baker on November 18, 2021 at 7:19 pm

I hope sig sues them and has to pay legal fees the police won’t admit they had a negligent discharge

  47. ghost walk on November 18, 2021 at 7:21 pm

These guns have been a nightmare for years now, stick with Smith & Wesson, you’ll never hear of a Shield firing on it’s own

  48. Jon Hardin on November 18, 2021 at 7:21 pm

Should have bought FNs, better price and better product.

  49. Warren Jansen on November 18, 2021 at 7:21 pm

Wasn’t the recall regarding an issue with drop safety, and not the gun firing magically on its own? I have a P320 and had the trigger update performed by Sig. There’s also a striker block that should prevent the striker from contacting the primer unless the trigger is pulled. How does this happen without a trigger being pulled or the gun being dropped. Interesting that it went off on its own but the guy is handling it while looking in his holster for something? Sounds suspicious to me

  50. Heart2HeartBooks on November 18, 2021 at 7:22 pm

And this is why I own Beretta apx’s. Best hand gun EVER!!!!!!!!! They were beat out by Sig Sauer. I don’t know why!
I just bought another today! The Apx Centurion and the Apx. 17 rounds plus one in the pipe!
