Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40mm LR
I was looking through the ads on Kijiji a buy and sell site and came across a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40mm LR scope for sale in mint condition I texted the guy and bartered the price down and got a great deal then went and bought some Burris mounts and some Butler Creek scope covers. Looking forward to getting this new scope mounted on my Savage .270 and heading out for deer hunting this year.

Yup upgrade the rings , that’s well worth the upgrade.
also you should upgrade your scope mounts to a one piece mount seeing the ones that come with your gun are cheap.
take a look at EGW mounts they are nice.
think they make one to fit your gun.
Definitely wouldn’t get "some play" in those Burris rings. They’re absolutely fine for the application. Good rings. I just wouldn’t run them on a 30-06 or magnum calibre. Anything else, and they’d NEVER fail.

Good choice for long range rest shots, terrible for short range snap shots. I prefer the over/under scope mounts which with some practice give you the best of both worlds when you run buckhorn iron sights.

You have to be careful buying leupold scopes like that from a person not a store. there are a lot of fakes out there you can call up leupold and tell them the serial number and see if it’s real

It’s pronounced "LOOPOLD," two syllables, not three.

You should perhaps invest in a $15 table top tripod, or maybe have all of your boxes open and packaging laid out before you start filming.
Nice score Darren. My deer hunting is thick bush , lucky to get a 100 yard shot, ok lucky to even get a shot haha . You must be out on the parries for long distant shooting .
Local store has this scope on clearance for $340….im about to go pick it up!
