Law Enforcement Can Sell Confiscated Guns

Law Enforcement Can Sell Confiscated Guns

For decades, weapons confiscated by police in Texas were supposed to be repurposed for law enforcement use — or else destroyed. Starting next month, some will be available for purchase. This story is part of our 31 Days, 31 Ways series, a monthlong look at how the bills and budget passed by the 83rd Legislature will affect Texans’ lives starting Sept. 1.

So they recycle them ? The company’s make them you buy it from a gun store a burglar breaks in and takes your gun gets confiscated one day by police only to be sold again and another break in happens or theft and same cycle

I know some people should not have guns. If I used my gun to stop an intruder in my own house, does the police have the right to confiscate my gun? And why can’t they just take a picture of it for evidence? You guys have too many guns (9000).

I’m assuming it’s STATE legislation that ALLOWS a CITY to sell seized guns. Chances of that happening in liberal Austin: 0. They’ll all be destroyed, just like the late hubby’s M-1 Garand that Granny brought in during the "buyback."

I’m wondering how I would go about buying one of these from the police, is there any paperwork I have to sign? also are automatic weapons that are pre-86 and transferable available for purchase if I buy the $200 tax stamp required?

Maybe defunding the police isn’t such a bad idea. They can just sell all those guns that they stole from people. Just like the drug money they seize, they use it to finance their agencies. Scum of the earth. The most organized and ruthless notorious gang in America, the POLICE.

To answer what we’re all thinking, hell no you don’t get your firearm back from them. No matter how petty the crime. The police confiscate your firenarm, you got about. 10% chance of ever getting it back. It’s wrong but what can you do?
