For me it was suppressors, 1911’s and PLR rifles. Anything else I have references for. Best advice an old timer told me was, “If you love it don’t take jobs for money, take jobs that you love because those are the jobs that make you better than everyone else.” Great advice, Great video!

Great start! Solid advice without sounding like a lecture. I look forward to this series. Actual information from a manufacturing standpoint will be beneficial to many viewers. I have over 25 years of forging, machining in the Aerospace industry and would love to see this kind of knowledge shared. There is a mixed bag of information on this platform, some truly dreadful. Everything I have seen from Bob has been solid. I like the changes in presentation with the videos and see this going far.

Is AGI a good place to learn about being a gunsmith?

  12. MrViking on December 8, 2021 at 7:35 pm

If someone, without neither experience or education, come up with a real good solution or a design that has never been seen before, would a gunsmith or gun manufacturer look into it, or just ignore it because the person’s lack of knowledge?
In general, how does the gun industry meet new ideas from people outside?
As you know, there has been examples of ingenious designs by people without any education or experience, eg Gaston Glock. But there has also been total design failures, like the British SA 80.
    Great channel👌😊

I’m training to be a psychologist and I want to be a gunsmith 😂 (I also want to be a psychologist). I appreciate you talking about the importance of education as well as the shortcomings of education. I want gunsmithing as my retirement job. Probably long range hunting rifles. I’ve assembled several rifles and milled a few AR recievers but someday I want to build my own guns from billet.
