How accurate are cheap 22s? (ft. Savage model 64)
How accurate are cheap 22s? (ft. Savage model 64)
What kind of accuracy can you expect from a 99 dollar 22? Well it depends on a LOT of factors. Today I am using a Savage model 64 and Remington Target .22lr ammo.

What a kind, thoughtful man you are Buffalo to take that little ole dog in.
Seems to me that your gun don’t like a dirty barrel. If you notice your groups kept getting worse the more you shot.
I have the exact rifle and I actually paid $99.00 plus tax about a year ago – My rifle likes CCi 22 LR HP Stinger. Way more accurate then what you are shooting now. Not as many flyers.
Use a laser to adjust the scope. The laser that sticks in the barrel! Nice shooten -pal!
If I single feed rounds into my 64f by hand, the groups get considerably smaller. That action is pretty hard on the bullets
That girdie looks like a good pooch definitely a keeper !! On the rifle I would rather have that than nothing at all thanks for showing
I for one certainly believe you, especially when talking about a base level rifle and not a fully built lazer rocking hand loads.
But there are some weapons with the correct shooter that can do some REALLY good Consistent shooting, it all depends on the accuracy of the rifle and the accuracy of the shooter.
But like I said I definitely agree with you especially about these $150.00 22s. I’m impressed with how well it performed And I have to say good shooting boss. that rifle is really accurate for what it is
Nice video, great to see Gertty too. Thanks
Do you think the .22lr if absolutely necessary can be used for self defense?
I think that is good shooting Buffalo but I am more impressed with your story of Gertie. That tells me your heart is as big as the outdoors. Thanks for a great, informative video.
I’m gonna get a Savage model 64 soon.
Great video!
Sheesh. I thought those targets were bigger. I hope to one day have good aim like that
That is a happy dog
The thirty that gave it a thumbs down are obviously welders! LOL
What scope did you put on there
Nice video review and comments of your Savage 64. I have exact same rifle ,about 9 years now. Only problem i had were magazine feed /load problems . So i had to file sand rough/sharp edges on all my mags. (9 total) . Maybe it was in mass production that quality/functionalities that were over looked. So after that slight modification i did nearly all ammo i shot through it was 100% except a few from bulk ammo . At first i thought it was junk because of magazine/ammo feed problems but no, it turned out to be a very reliable rifle after watching a video to actually fix the magazine for a Savage 64/ .22 lr. Also the free Tasco scope that came with mine was funny and not adequate . So i just mounted my Crosman pellet rifle scope and aims/target shoots great. Thanks again.
I got mine at six years old in 1996 haven’t shot it much in the last decade but it has had thousands of rounds through it and is still a tac driver
You’re awesome. Super nice guy. Thanks for the vos. Just picked up a sav 64 today. Gonna trick it out.
Good enough for varmint and target shooting for the adults and kiddos!
The gun is only as accurate as the shooter.
been considering one of these for a couple of months now… something tells me im gonna have another rifle
That old dog is a good hint as to the character of this man and his videos are top notch too.
At 50 yards, I think that is some outstanding shooting. I would want him on my team.
Just got one at Sportsman’s for 129. (No scope) That’s probably close to retail price. August 2021
I bought the camouflage savage 64 $182
It might be your scope
Cheap ammo and gun good groops
I’m seeing this late but I enjoy your content. Truly like listening to you talk. You seem like a guy anyone would like to spend the day out goin for squirrels or rabbits with.
I’ve been looking into this gun for a couple months but I never knew how good it was because of the price.
This is a .22LR not .338 Lapua, an small and slow bullet, any breeze can affect his ballistics, an inch group is really impressive…
This mine fully customized.. got it accurate as hell w my green dot!

Good video man. 👍
Great video and well said
Great little gun for squirrel. I love mine.
Thanks for the shout out Buffalo, I had two people so far say that you sent them. That Savage is a good inexpensive little plinker, I actually bought it for my daughter when she was ten years old. Mine has a Simmons magnum 22 scope on it and I think I paid $22 for it back when I bought the rifle
Hi names Ted I like this video thanks for sharing
I would love to see you do a cheap rifle with the really good target ammo and see the outcome. Great video Buffalo.
I just paid 215$ with a Chester scope. I love mine. Perfect for what I use it for.
Thank you for taking Gertie in, awesome
Sweet Pup! Thanks for taking her in. I was hoping to see the people who dumped her tied up on the target you were shooting at.
Awesome video, I stumbled upon this as I just bought a Savage model 64 to take Grouse in the early season when the leaves are still on the trees, and makes shot gunning them really hard at a distance when they are sunning themselves on a trail from far away. Using CGI stingers for my first pass through, but to be honest not much ammo options right now in 2021 and the prices seemed to have increased for those options.
What rings did you use? Great video!
What’s wrong with you! I can get 12 inch groups at 2 yards. When I wear my glasses, that is! LOL! When I don’t have my glasses on, I shoot at the broad side of the red barn. I’m not sure how many hits I get because there are many old nail holes with missing nails and that sorta messes me up. I do think I sometimes hit it though. I think my best group measured 12 by 16 (feet that is). Now how is that for accuracy? Should I be is some kind of record book or what!
I was able to get 1.5 in 10 shot group at 100 yards with my savage 64 using blazer ammo. Not too bad.
Thank you for all of your honest videos!!!
it costs 350 euros when the rifle gets to north/east europe… damn
well you never go hungry with those groups,
thanks for the video
The savage model 65 m in wmr. was one of the most Accurate rifles I have ever owned. Savage are renowned for Accuracy. I currently own a savage stevens in 223 and you would be hard pressed to find a more accurate rifle than it .Cher’s Dean
