Shooting and discussing the Hi Point pistol caliber carbine, the 995 TS in 9mm. This model includes a laser sight; I just did not open it up and attach it. There is one unopened in the box.

Just ordered one after watching your video and Matt’s video over on Demo Ranch. Glad to support an Ohio business. The pistols are ugly, but this carbine is honestly more enjoyable to shoot than either the Keltec or Ruger versions for half the money.

I just saw the video of the test with the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine 995 TS. I thank you from Barcelona, Spain, for the magnificent video you have made and how well you have explained it. The filming has been equally great. One question please. Have you done a test with the CMMG MK9mm LE? Thank you. Jorge Ríos

I’ve got a 4095 and it looks like a gun Bronson Pinchot would have sold in Beverly Hills Cop 3. But it’s a fun gun to shoot and their customer service is the best. I lost the tool to disassemble the rifle and they sent me a replacement tool free of charge.

Excellent review: Thus I conclude that the Hi-Point brand of Carbine’s are just Too Unpredictable? Seems like pot luck? It might Misfire or Work?

Bersa thunder 380 vs. Walther PPK.
Bersa~under 300.00/ PPK 700.00, & the bersa completely outshoots and out performs the PPK,..(.Fixed barrel, better slide, better trigger, better sights,..and a nice beaver tail at the back)….wouldn’t sell it for the price of the walther now…hands down NO.

I’m far from a good shooter, but the first time I shot mine I hit a 4" gong at 25 yds, an eight inch gong at 50 yds, a half sized silhouette at 75 yds, and a twelve inch gong at 100 yds, all off hand. Four for four. I don’t think I own another gun that I could do that with. I just love the thing : )

A kid Marine saw me looking at one of the carbines at a gun store. He said "That thing looks Kmart as hell…."

  12. G W on November 4, 2021 at 10:11 pm

I have one and it is a shooter, very accurate and I’ve had no problems with it. A good one to keep in the trunk in long trips, just in case!

  16. Thomas Marked on November 4, 2021 at 10:14 pm

Hi-point gets a bad rap from gun snobs…the carbine is excellent dead accurate out of the box it will eat anything you can feed it…👊💯

  17. Isaiah Smith on November 4, 2021 at 10:15 pm

    Time to extend the range

  18. T.C. Abby on November 4, 2021 at 10:15 pm

this is now 2021… about 5 years ago they fixed the issues with the mags and firing pins… the reason I have one is that I don’t need to carry multiple calibers, my EDC is a 9mm… and the 995TS will reach out to 100yrds if needed… it’s practical and functional and inexpensive with a lifetime transferrable warranty.

  19. Electric Gamez on November 4, 2021 at 10:16 pm

It’s a shame they made it a single stack mag

  20. Edward Santiago on November 4, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Thank you, you made me a believer and I bought one for $349, it’s 2021 now so, inflation.

  21. D Schulz on November 4, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Definitely the Mag… obvious feed failure. Great Inexpensive gun. 1000’s and 1000’s of folks cant be wrong, most of the time lol

  22. Daniel E. F. on November 4, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Not a bad shooter regarding accuracy and budget.

  23. Patrick Kem on November 4, 2021 at 10:18 pm

    Hi ya Hickok,
What a useful weapon. Question any chance of seeing some binary trigger systems maybe put a bug in the Boss’s ear.
I will sent some smoke signals out Hi-points way also! Happy shooting!

  28. Ernest Walden on November 4, 2021 at 10:27 pm

I think it be a fun camping gun. As long as you don’t live where bears are around.

  29. Mr. Ramjangles on November 4, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Will you do a video on the hi point carbine that recently came out in 19 inches? Thanks!

  30. Michael Cmar on November 4, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    Hey beauty is subjective 🤣

  31. chase c on November 4, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Has anyone else had issues w/ FTF? I’ve had quiet a few feeding issues and it seems to be the wonky magazine causing issues as the cartridges won’t sit tight against the lips at the top….

  32. Sambo Rambo on November 4, 2021 at 10:30 pm

I’ve never understood everybody’s angst for Hi-Point Carbine their fun and very durable and clearly as you can see in this video pretty goddamn accurate!

  33. Town Fool on November 4, 2021 at 10:31 pm

Good grief just the charging sound is awful! It sounds like a retro lunch box.

  34. Elian Reyes on November 4, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Looks like you can hit stuff with it

  35. deadfan1976 on November 4, 2021 at 10:35 pm

Had the older version. Traded it for a Taurus 9mm pistol plus got some cash. It was sitting in my gun closet for 6 years. Took it out with the guy before he bought it. Ran like a champ and was very accurate up to 75yds. Only cleaned the barrel. Traded the Taurus for a 9mm Ruger Carbine and gave some cash. Worked out for me.

  36. Clayoto on November 4, 2021 at 10:39 pm

Would heavily greasing the bolt help?

  37. nomercy on November 4, 2021 at 10:43 pm

Seems like an interesting little carbine.

  38. Ryan Lamp on November 4, 2021 at 10:44 pm

I own this same rifle. I also own four of the aftermarket RedBall 20 round magazines. I’ve put thousands of rounds through this rifle, most brass casings, and even some steel casings, and I’ve never once had a misfire or a jam. NOT ONE TIME! Every single time I’ve pulled the trigger, the round has fired as expected. So yeah, why on earth would anyone want to rely on a rifle that has a perfect record of reliability? That would be silly, now wouldn’t it?

  39. Yhante Lunsford on November 4, 2021 at 10:45 pm

Is this considered a rifle or a handgun

  40. AfriKingGen2 Uno on November 4, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Kinda cheating with the 6x tac scope lenses he’s rocking 🤔 jk he is a laser with that thing 👌🏿

  41. Steven Young on November 4, 2021 at 10:48 pm

First targets shot should be the “smoke some pot” clay pot targets, in my opinion, to ensure that all the other targets are hit!!

  42. ScottT on November 4, 2021 at 10:49 pm

I’ve seen a good number of your videos and looks like you enjoyed shooting this more than some other guns. I just bought my first 995 and can’t wait to shoot it. I’ve heard from some it’s their favorite gun to shoot.

  43. Sam Smith on November 4, 2021 at 10:50 pm

These things are hard to find now(like everything else) but I found one at a local shop and scooped it up even though it was a bit marked up. Very fun to shoot…

  44. Daniel heater on November 4, 2021 at 10:51 pm

Hickok45: I have this gun but my operating handle does not hold when trying to hold open. What does that mean or what can I do sir to fix that?

  47. Cameron White 007 on November 4, 2021 at 10:53 pm

    Tbh I love this gun

  48. Kurt Froberg on November 4, 2021 at 10:54 pm

Howdy, Hickok! It’s an honor to talk to ya.

Well, I can’t speak for the folks at Hi Point (since I’m not an employee or anything). All I can say is that I bought the 995 for dirt cheap, and so I decided to put it through a ‘torture test’ of sorts: 1,000+ rounds through it without ever cleaning it. Thus far, it’s never jammed on me once.

This gun is built like a tank. Straight out of the box, it hits a quarter-sized 10 round grouping at 50 yards on the irons (minus the occasional Human Error flyer). Hi Points, however, were never built for distance. They’re strictly home defense guns, built for 15 yards or closer- AND built for folks like me who can’t afford to pay for much range time. You just Aim & Shoot at anything within 45-50 feet with a Hi Point (even if you’re a relatively uneducated shooter), and your target goes down. Sturdy, reliable, and balls-on accurate. That’s about all you can ask for in a home defense firearm, which is why I recommend the 995 to all of my friends.

  50. James Branham on November 4, 2021 at 10:56 pm

So it functions and seems very accurate.. hmmm not sure why anyone wouldn’t have one.. it’s one of my next purchases.. I have a 18x and c9.. I like shooting both the same.. and same reliability and accuracy.. longevity.. remains to be seen.. but for 400 dollars less.. less is more
