Always good to get a refresher, even as an experienced shooter.
Thank you. I don’t own a gun yet, they gave always scared me. But I thinking seriously about. Safety is first on my list! And, yes, Long Live the Republic indeed!
Hey Sootch I recently bought a LEO trade in on a S&W 40 full size. I was going to buy a Sig 357 barrel from Brownells is this safe and ok to swap them out???
Excellant video for guys and gals! Thank you.
Great video as always, sootch00. Been following you fer years.
Loved it when you showed off the Ruger single-action with a Cowboy hat 🙂
This was awesome! 🙌🏻
I’m ten years old and I have a gun but thanks for the safety I watch this every time treAt the guns right people 😀😀😃
So basically don’t be a dumb*ss
I recall when I was in the Territorial Army for the basic weapon training with the god awful SA80s, that the main thing they taught us was be safe. Always assume any weapon you come across is loaded and ready to fire. Keep your finger away from the trigger. Remove the magazine. Clear the weapon of any potentenial bullets already in the chamber by racking the slide to remove the round. I always cycled three times. Then Visually check that there are no more rounds in the weapon.
New owner here. This was informative! Thank you!
These guys were jumping around to different spots at our local range and finally got kicked out for doing stupid stuff. My brother left his camera up by accident and caught the whole thing (we moved from the 25 yard to the 50 yard). He’s the one walking up at the end of the video…

hey Sootch, I’m a new shooter and I learn so much from you. I didn’t see your affiliate link to USCCA – can you help? I want to tell you also that I love and appreciate your sign-off, too
Good information
Just got my first handgun a 22LR watching all safety and use videos before I go practice…this one is great video.
Thanks for such great content.
Safety is no accident 🔥
I’m not into guns but I want my son and I to take a safety course for beginners. Good video, thank you.
Thanks much appreciate
That is so tragic that story . I don’t want that to happen to anyone that’s why I’m here educating myself
I’ve had one of the guys at the gun counter point to me saying I was next in line with a pistol even though I knew it wasn’t loaded I still was not happy about it. Edit: He was an employee not a customer.
What about in the movies where they clearly point them at people?
sootch there is bird poop on that gate FYI
Hai,,can i have?
It’s good to go over basic firearms safety and function.
Thanks im getting a bb gun and i don’t want to hurt people so thanks for the basics
Great video!
Thanks for sharing! 👍🏾
https://youtu.be/7es3zYRYLTs are these guys at the YT channel "OfficialDuckStudios" episode "gun in dryer"
I just don’t understand how this is still on YT
I am a kid and my dad bought a rifle and a pistol, I cant remember the names of them but I have a question. Does 22 ammo have a lot of kick back for a kid or does it matter about the firearm?
Did we forget about the safety??????????
0:27 That’s almost identical to how my great grandfather passed away. Huh.
I hope that firearm is registered.
Great video! Sent this over to my dad who is going to the range for the first time ever this week.
FOLLOW THE FOUR. Great Video. People need to learn good safety ! 🙂
I like to put my finger BEHIND the trigger inside the trigger guard of the respective firearm.
That grandfather story sounds like a murder to me, beware or so called “best friends”…
also, stand behind the shooter at all times, dont stand beside the shooter cuz of muzzle flash. handguns dont have alot of muzzle flash but its always good to be safe
Foam ear plugs are the cheapest, but great at dampening gunshots even shooting at first person. But those electronic headphones, that block out high decibel sounds, are fantastic if you are in a large group of people, or in a busy lobby and taking classes for gun accuracy. If you go to any indoor or outdoor gun range, I’d invest in some headphones
idk why he says "pop" instead of harm or injur or kill
I have a Air glock 17 gen 4 and haven’t shot it yet
"You’ve almost got to be paranoid about it"
**Me with OCD** My time to shine.
This is really nice, I liked when you telled the stories also when you told us the different types lol
It looks like you put the trigger lock in front of the trigger. It should go behind the trigger. I just tested on two of my revolvers and on both, if I put the guard in front of the trigger I can pull the entire trigger guard back – pulling the trigger back and firing the gun. If you really squeeze the two halves of the trigger guard together tightly before locking you can’t do this (at least on the guards I have), but I don’t think we should take the chance. I believe the guard was designed to not allow trigger movement, not just to keep a finger out of there.
Great video, helpful information for a new firearm owner, thank you! 👌🏽
Cannot thank you enough for this video. I have friends and family who are fairly new to owning firearms and I’ll gladly reference them to this video.
Teacher’s at school used to tell us it was rude and disrespectful to point your finger at someone .
Let alone point a firearm.
As he shows you and the unseen clips of the video how dangerous Guns are and why he puts up videos of safety.
Good refresher vid Sootch…thank you…
At 7:14, what type of handgun is that?
Thanks man
