I sold my FN-X 9 because I fell on some pretty hard times. Worst mistake of my life. I put probably 10,000 rounds through it and had maybe 5 failures. I even alternated +P and shit wolf ammo just as a torture test for a mag dump. Handled it like a champ. Every single FN product I have ever used was pure quality and reliability. I’m getting the 509 for my next pistol now that I made it through the struggles. I often told people if I had to trust my life on the line of a single piece of mechanical equipment it was that FN Pistol, and I have no regrets about that statement.

I went with the FN 509. It comes with a case and sight mounts in the box so you can install a red dot if you like. I really like how the mags are interchangeable, you can use the 10rd mag or you can slap in a 24rd mag. I really wanted to get a Glock but after checking out the FN I was sold

Really good video. I really like the 509. I am going to be picking up the mid-size MRD model soon. I was initially looking at a G19 MOS too, but I do like the feature better on the 509, and enjoyed shooting my friend’s 509. I still really like my Gen 3 G23, but being a lefty I also like the fully ambidextrous features of the 509, which even the Gen 5 Glock’s doesn’t have. It makes way more sense to have dual mag release buttons along with the dual slide relaese. I also prefer the picatinny under barrel rail over the Glock rail. Finally the trigger being better out of the box is just one more reason to go with the 509.

I picked up the 509/c/t in black. I also bought the large sized backstrap and now the pistol with the 12round mag is comfortable. I bought the pistol March 1st and didn’t fire a single round for 4months and out of 51 rounds of 115gr, none of the break in issue failures that I heard about due to ultra stiff springs which isn’t any big deal. I’m kind of wondering if the 4months of just handling the pistol to get comfortable helped break in the springs. I was trying to patiently wait for 124gr nato ammo to drop in price and eventually couldn’t wait any longer. The pistol is a very flat shooter for being a compact size and am very happy with this purchase. I know a lot of ppl like 3-5lb triggers but I like my duty style heavy trigger with long travel. If I could make my 509’s trigger heavier, I absolutely would. Lately, Ive been wondering if id have been slightly happier with the full size 509T

2021 and FN still doesn’t have much after market parts. Apex tactical has done a good job with coming out with a slide for red dot but at 700 dollars, I’ll pass and just buy another gun. I like my FN 509 but my recommendation is, buy the tactical model or just get a Glock that you can customize. It will be cheaper in the long run.

  6. Matt Conklin on November 30, 2021 at 11:12 pm

That price tag for the 509 !

  7. S Matthews on November 30, 2021 at 11:15 pm

At this point I’ve just come to the conclusion that I want them all. The only question is, in what order.

  8. Just Breeze on November 30, 2021 at 11:17 pm

    FN is quality enough said

  9. 123idreamjeannie on November 30, 2021 at 11:18 pm

  10. chadrageus on November 30, 2021 at 11:19 pm

I’ll have to get one when available. Thanks for the review!

  11. Brad Jensen on November 30, 2021 at 11:22 pm

I’m left handed although I can shoot with both hands I’m a little more accurate with my left. My gen 3 19 is a great gun but I might have to get a gen 5 19 as they are ambidextrous and I’ll take a look at the FN 509 and the SIG p320.
    Send it!

  12. I Love Cheesecake on November 30, 2021 at 11:23 pm

i’m a lefty and I want the 509c for CC

  13. Greatsoutherntrendkill79 on November 30, 2021 at 11:24 pm

You don’t always get night sights. Mine came without dots

  14. Steven Reyngold on November 30, 2021 at 11:24 pm

I have a Glock 19 Gen 3 and I think I am done with Glock. They are reliable and very customizable, but it just doesn’t feel right, no matter what you file off of it. The FN was on my short list as was the PPQ and VP9. I love my FNX 45 but that is a range toy and the 509 would be my workhorse EDC. The HK is $250 more, but it is an HK and there is just something about the way those shoot. The look, the feel, the quality can almost be absorbed and give you a more pleasant shooting experience. Not quite there with the 509, but once again, is that extra money worth the little extra tingle you get at the range?

  15. Phillip Martinez on November 30, 2021 at 11:25 pm

My opinion THE FN509 tactical is a better weapon 🎯🔫💯🔥💪

  16. Haile Sankara on November 30, 2021 at 11:25 pm

I say the Glock is like a German car(I’d like to say Chevy but imma stay away from GM) or a Toyota Hilux, you can expect it to do the damn thing .. just don’t abuse it unless you have to n then it’ll still more than likely go bang when u need it . Used to hate on glocks as a teenager than I actually got familiar with one and realized allot of its benefits

  17. muddyram on November 30, 2021 at 11:26 pm

My only complaint with my FN 509 is that I waited this long to get one. By far my favorite out of the box gun I have and didn’t break the bank buying it. My 19 is now my dedicated top of the fridge Glock.

  18. Chef Di' on November 30, 2021 at 11:30 pm

The Fn-509 triger stinks…..Theirs no surgar coating it..will it smooth out adter 1000 rounds yes, but it still stinks..Little top heavy for my liking…..Best trigger on market is the PPQ….

  19. jgarris0577 on November 30, 2021 at 11:30 pm

Can the FN convert to other calibers with barrel swaps.

  20. LARGEFARVA on November 30, 2021 at 11:34 pm

fingered a new 509 yesterday…it might have the worst trigger ive ever felt on any gun ever.

  21. Curve57 on November 30, 2021 at 11:34 pm

The FN is very under rated but change the firing pin

  22. shawn Janichek on November 30, 2021 at 11:34 pm

I have fn fns 9c for carrying and fn 509 tatical for home defense in my opinion they feel so positive in my hand and so well made I never looked back. Glocks are boxy ugly and way way over rated theres really nothing but weight that I like about them. So many other companies make a superior weapon them glock

  23. 392 Vonta on November 30, 2021 at 11:35 pm

    Where can I find the f & n 509 midsize ??

  24. Brad Ramcke on November 30, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Ahhh bullshit review for stock Guns Lefty

  25. Terrance Young on November 30, 2021 at 11:37 pm

I had a glock 19 until it was stolen. Then I got my 509c and I love it

  26. Seth Humphries on November 30, 2021 at 11:38 pm

  28. Eduardo Camacho on November 30, 2021 at 11:40 pm

I currently own a xdm elite , a glock , then the five seven . The FN is my favorite hands down !

  29. Will Z. on November 30, 2021 at 11:40 pm

    I have g19 gen 5 and FN 509
Only mod is sights on glock.
I literally flipped a coin yesterday as to which I was going to the range with…love them both, only 1 year and 500+ through each, can’t decide.

  30. Robert Allison on November 30, 2021 at 11:42 pm

As a former SWCC, combat veteran, the FN is absolutely battle proven, whereas the Glock is the literal "white girl" of firearms.

  31. The Anti Simp on November 30, 2021 at 11:44 pm

    Mine holds 17 rds

  32. John Gibbey on November 30, 2021 at 11:45 pm

This gun "509c mrd" can’t handle hst +p ammo so be careful what ammo you use. Bought mine last month, 2 weeks later took it to the firing range and the handle cracked. Sent it to FN and they said "sorry for your luck, must have been your ammo, warranty denied."

  33. Maximus Meridius on November 30, 2021 at 11:45 pm

    Glock all day any day.

  34. Blake Gleiter on November 30, 2021 at 11:45 pm

That 509 is so beautiful 😍

  35. OspreyBravo18 on November 30, 2021 at 11:45 pm

I like a nice trigger, but I don’t feel like a Glock is holding me back after having spent 4 years with one. I would like to get my hands on a FN though and see if it can edge out my P10F and G19…the P10F is nice, but there’s not a lot of support for it compared to a Glock or a Smith and the back strap system is terrible.

  36. GUNS R US on November 30, 2021 at 11:47 pm

FN 509 don’t like water, that’s it out of the picture.

  37. John Dough on November 30, 2021 at 11:48 pm

Glock sucks accuracy ok acceptable but not a ppq. FN really crappy trigger

  38. QUIETSTORM on November 30, 2021 at 11:48 pm

    Glock hands down.

  39. Project Reckoning on November 30, 2021 at 11:53 pm

    509 is tight

  40. Ansel on November 30, 2021 at 11:56 pm

I bought the Canik TP9 SFX and was very impress, but the FN 509 tactical is just another beast. It’s really a toss up between the two, but a Glock I believe is losing traction. The Canik is comp ready and the 509 comes out the box on GO. Glock is going to have too catch up no doubt.

  41. Denis on November 30, 2021 at 11:59 pm

One advantage of Glocks over fn is if you leave it on the table too long and dust settles on the gun, the Glock is still going to shoot FN is questionable 🤣😂🤣 now we have elemental and gauntlet test 😁

  42. Eve Kim on November 30, 2021 at 11:59 pm

it’s safe getting gun from *mrmasterglock on wickr* I was shipped Luger with glock from him

  43. Amar Deva on December 1, 2021 at 12:01 am

    Thanks for the review.

  44. Michael Gladitsch on December 1, 2021 at 12:01 am

Alright, so my buddy says G19 is the best out of the box right now, Nov 2021. His reasoning being good trigger, great capacity, good sights, the most reliable gun that can handle both side drop tests. In this video, and your top 5 g19 alternatives, as well as your 7 reasons to not get a glock, you have spoken about how glocks are not the most reliable anymore, they are as reliable as other contenders ( FN 509, HK VP9, W PPQ, CZ P07-10, M&P 9 2.0, Sig 320 l think and some others). You also said the contenders have better sights, triggers, grips out of box. Some being easier to break down( FN 509, M&P9 2.0), therefore easier to clean and maintain, and others being more reliable ( I think you said in 7 reasons against glocks, your CZ P07? was more reliable than 10+ of your Glocks, which you also said you are a slight glock fanboy which means a lot that you went against the glock faith to say that🙂 ). Long speech now made short, what is the best out of box? Is it Glock 17/19? Or not?

  45. fr8cture on December 1, 2021 at 12:02 am

I love the 509 except the trigger is awful. And harping on 2oz weight difference is useless. Nobody is gonna notice the difference there.

  46. Big Business on December 1, 2021 at 12:02 am

This dude is a living John Wick

  47. PeaceBoyRambo420 on December 1, 2021 at 12:03 am

Bro its obvious FN has lots more features and their guns are made better Glock might be cheap but FN is where it is at

  48. Dylan Hudock on December 1, 2021 at 12:04 am

What are yall’s thoughts on the 509C? I recently purchased it and love everything about it so far, minus the stock trigger.

I think once that gets upgraded, this thing would be hard to beat.

  49. Daron Moses on December 1, 2021 at 12:04 am

Fn509c vs the mr920 for edc??

  50. GUNS R US on December 1, 2021 at 12:05 am

Own both optics ready, FN looks nice, but they are very similar in size and the trigger pull very similar. Glock have more access to aftermarket parts. CZ way better than both, even Canik feels better.
