I went to a local gun store looking for a 9mm glock and ended up buying this thinking it was a glock lol. It’s my first gun and I’m not disappointed.
The size and weight of the gun are good the trigger is good enough to shoot with price is decent as long as its reliable and doesn’t fail to run smoothly the fit size and weight are good.
Good Review. I’m selling the Glock 45 and getting one of these. Checked it out at the shop today.

i just hate how the barrel sticks out of the slide it just irks me so much LOL
3 17 rd d magazines came with the FN 509 I purchased in 2021. Shot very well out of the box. Trigger seems a little "crunchy" to me, but I too am a 1911 guy. I have an assortment of Glocks in every caliber except 10mm and 22lr…..never have "loved" any of them. I think once I run 1000 rounds through this 509 I will be hard pressed to carry any of my glocks routinely again.
Great review. I like Glock quite a bit. I have a 19x, and a g44. I carry a Sig. 1911 Emperor Scorpion.
It has major flaw that if it’s submerged that it won’t fire after.
I have a few “done up” Glocks. I haven’t touched any of them since I moved to the 509. Once the trigger breaks in, it’s incredible.
Only ding I can give the 509 is the exorbitant price of magazines. Too bad Mec-Gar doesn’t make Mags for the 509
My vote now goes to the Polymer80 PFC9. Just got it last week and I’m already considering buying more to make it my home “system” defense gun. Second place, for me, goes to the Sig P365XL. For me, the PFC9 feels right, shoots right and is just an all around joy. We’ll see how it does over time.
I had an FNS9 that I really, REALLY wanted to like but it’s one of those pistols that I just couldn’t quite effectively reach the trigger on. I handled a 509 when they came out and it didn’t really feel much different so I never “pulled the trigger” on purchasing one. I’m the flip side of the “huge bear paws” coin.

I own a full size 17 rounds mag plus 1 in the chamber FN 509. I love it! I lawfully carry it everyday. I agree with the review of this video totally. Excellent presentation!

I have the mp9c and absolutely love it but find myself slowly gravitating toward the fn509
The 509 has a faulty striker known to break mine did 2 time in uder a year then realized why the it faoled the military trial for the mhs program it hydrolocks when directly out of water uno 95% or more nodern handguns will not only fire wet but fire even submerged completly under water thats just highly concerning on this planet anyways. Ni thanjs fn. Dropped the ball on this one fn

Just picked me up one today. Matches it’s lil brother the 9 compact in desert tan. FNH are some of the best firearms in my opinion. I got the MRD model with the red dot mount on top.

I have a different perspective, not as a critic, but as an owner/user. I own the FN509 C MRD and the CZ P10C. I had to purchase an Apex striker pin for the FN509 since it broke. Also called FN customer support and was informed that the FN pistol should only be dry fired occasionally. Same recommendation was provided by Apex. I’m still waiting for the FN trigger to smooth out. The FN pistol shoots extremely well with a red dot, but the P10C is a much better product.

Just picked this up for my first handgun. Went in wanting a Sig p320 and I’m so glad I got this pistol instead. Absolutely love it
Got this gun as my everyfay carry. Only modification I made with it was I swapped the sights for some trijicon fiber optics. They have no dots in the rear so it’s only the front sight that glows and it helps me stay on target.
I was all sold on a cz p10c. Now I’m thinking fn 509

I have a question. I just moved from Texas to Colorado and the magazine capacity is limited to 15 rounds no matter what kind of firearm, so why do the gun shops sell drum mags?

There are 50 states in the union, each one with their own style. I wouldn’t like it if every state was like Cali, but I wouldn’t like it either if every state was like Texas. The best thing about the US is that you can live in the state that best meets your style. That being said, if you don’t like Cali, then don’t move to Cali. Some of us love guns, but we also have a life. The only people in Cali, who have problems with it’s gun laws are the people with intentions to harm others. The rest of us don’t mind abiding by the law. I still get to shoot all of my guns and have a blast doing it.
