Would cerekote last longer on polymer Frame than it would on a steel slide ?

Did the original tenifer finish wear off too much for your preference? Ive had a few guns with soft finishes and I always hate seeing them wear. Smith Wesson MP 2.0 and shield finishes seem to be great and very durable, I dont like parkerized, im not super impressed with the tenifer on the PPQ but its not the worst finish ive had on a gun.

  7. PhilEllis on November 22, 2021 at 9:18 pm

    Thank you very much
I’m considering doing something on my new AK to protect it from rust, so I’m between Cerakote and Duracoat.

Just found this today, 8/12/21. Nice video, well done IMO. I have a couple of polymer frames and a slide I’d like to refinish in another color. One is baby poo brown (FDE) and the other Titanium blue. The FDE frame I won and the blue one was such a good deal I couldn’t pass it up. Man if you take your friends to the range I wanna be your friend! Actually, I live on a farm, my range is my front yard and I have plenty of ammo. Just had a couple of grandkids here who shoot up a couple hundred rounds each of 9MM, 45ACP, 233 and 300 Blkout. Plus the one grandson shot a mag of .50GI. Fun day till I made them pick up the brass!

  17. Anthony A on November 22, 2021 at 9:29 pm

  19. Assante Lynch on November 22, 2021 at 9:32 pm

What size air compressor did you use for the sandblasting?

  20. Scott Campbell on November 22, 2021 at 9:33 pm

  25. Floppa on November 22, 2021 at 9:38 pm

i kinda wanna do a diy duracoat for an airsoft gun. i just got a glock airsoft gun and want a red slide. and to be honest, duracoat seems much easier.

  26. Jim Henderson on November 22, 2021 at 9:40 pm

Dude needs to learn to shoot left thumb gonna get taking off with a pop off round smh

  27. Jin Byun on November 22, 2021 at 9:42 pm

I like the information you put out. But please stop waving the muzzle around and showing me the muzzle view. That is BAD firearm practice.

  28. Stephen L. on November 22, 2021 at 9:42 pm

    Let’s see that video

  29. Jon L on November 22, 2021 at 9:43 pm

Clear, concise, HUMBLE, and OBJECTIVE!!!! Top quality vid, APPRECIATE YOU!!!

  35. Prometheus epimetheus on November 22, 2021 at 9:48 pm

In my experience, duracoat is best on rifles, cerakote is best on handguns. Cerakote chipped more and flaked off on several of my buddies guns. Duracoat is more elastic than hard.

  36. J G on November 22, 2021 at 9:50 pm

I’d love to see the Cerakote process. I have often considered doing it myself but the sand blasting step turned me off.

  37. jafount on November 22, 2021 at 9:54 pm

Great video. Enjoyed it, but damn your voice is so mellow you should be a hypnotherapist! Smooooooth pipes! lol!

  38. Stuck Behind Enemy Lines on November 22, 2021 at 9:55 pm

Do you use the duracoat spray cans? They seem very accessible to a newbie like me. Also have nice colors

  39. marquez van roeschen on November 22, 2021 at 9:56 pm

    @KingDOM
Thanks for the clip, it’s really helpful. I’ve killed my Duracoat plan and will go for Cerakote now 🙂
Quick question. As far As I have understood correctly, you are also sandblasting your stuff.
Which Air Compressor are you using? Do you think a standard 24 L, 8 bar comp would do the job?

  40. Flopsy on November 22, 2021 at 9:57 pm

    Thanks for the helpful video!

  41. Mark S C on November 22, 2021 at 9:57 pm

Kingdom you’re living the life I dream about ..

  42. Kevin J on November 22, 2021 at 9:58 pm

Let’s see the Cerakote how to video.

  43. SC hop out! on November 22, 2021 at 9:58 pm

Can you remove duracoat from a Glock slide ? Or will it ruin the factory finish on the slide ?

  44. Mike Ellingsworth** Mr Stepping Stone*** on November 22, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Does cerakote have a finish that replicates deep gun bluing
    Thank you

  45. bill jensen on November 22, 2021 at 10:04 pm

Another question sir is it for steel or does it work the same for aluminum

  46. Slim Carter on November 22, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Absolutely a tutorial of the painting

  47. Art Thurman on November 22, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Such a chill, yet on point offering. My kind of guy. I wonder if you have tried an airbrush application of CeraKote? I am just getting into a strange array of parts coating…motorcycle, guns and whatever pops up.

  48. Filippo Corti on November 22, 2021 at 10:07 pm

    Good video. You sound good.

  49. Chertong Moua on November 22, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Great video but it’s scary how you and your buddy hold those pistols at the range.

  50. eVisible Marketing on November 22, 2021 at 10:10 pm

I’m thinking of getting a 1911 cerakoted. Have you found a way to make it truly matte? I’d like to go with a matte black on matte black finish as well.

But since you were talking about the PPQ… is there any reason besides aesthetics (and "because I wanted to") that you chose cerakote over the factory finish?
