Stoner said you don’t need that crap. Only the Army disagreed is what I was told.

When I do the forward assist, I put it in the vise up side down and drive the pin from the bottom. That way if you have a little scratch it doesn’t show. Good videos, and good instructions.

  7. Dude...Are you sure?? on November 11, 2021 at 12:51 am

sorta confusing the way you tried explaining how to install the forward assist… you could just put it simple and instruct your viewers to have the hook part pointing towards the bcg and which will line the flat side of the forward assist facing in… the flat side is where the roll pin would hold ithe part in place….

What vise block is that? Mine is a clamshell-type and covers the ejection port…so I dont know how to secure the upper while installing the dust cover.

  9. Northern Home Inspection on November 11, 2021 at 12:52 am

Is the roll pin the same size as the one for the bolt catch? I ordered a stripped Aero upper and the forward was missing the roll pin. I have a spare for the (bolt catch) but was unsure of the correct size for the forward assist. Will it fit, or should I go get a new pin? Great video walk through all the same. Thanks!

I swear…. NSZ85 has some of the best videos online for showing others on how to build AR’s. You can understand every word clearly. A good quality focused camera. Great job!!

You did not put the fwd assist button?

Nice, easy and straight to the point. Exactly how all videos should be. Great job. It would.definitely be appreciated, if other videos, would do the same, and edit out the crappy graphics, music, editorials, etc….Thanks for keeping some relatively simple, but helpful……..watchable!!!

  26. stefan speidel on November 11, 2021 at 1:09 am

C clip does not make any sense. It is supposed to hold the pin in place. Put it in between the dust port cover and the hole.

This channel is, without a doubt, the best AR15 build channel online, bar-none!

  29. Quinn Moore on November 11, 2021 at 1:14 am

5:30 a more available guide tool are plain Allen keys. Most people just have those on hand in multiple sizes, so it’ll work on multiple holes. Also use something brass if you’re tapping on it

Thanks for the lesson. I’m a very beginner and just bought a 7.5" ar-15. I wanted to change the muzzle brake (looks like there’re many options that is better than birdcage it came with) but the part I need to unscrew is bit inside of the hand-guard (just inside to piss me-off, sorry). Is there a way to unscrew the birdcage w/o the taking whole damn hand-guard off? I appreciate your response in advance. Thanks!

Where did you get the white receiver block used for torquing the barrel ?

  40. B Hewitt on November 11, 2021 at 1:29 am

Use some painters blue tape and when your punch misses the pin. U won’t have a mark on the upper. 😎

  41. Eric Laird on November 11, 2021 at 1:31 am

Made my lower watching your video! gracie, gracie………this will complete the upper as well, Thank you Amigo…….. KEEP ON ROCKIN IT!…………….. nsz85

  44. ihavehotmail2 on November 11, 2021 at 1:33 am

Can the forward assist roll pin be put in from the bottom ?

  45. BattleChemist on November 11, 2021 at 1:35 am

Great video; nice and short and exactly what I needed to install my Aero Precision kit for these exact components.
I had to install the dust cover pin first before the C-Clip, though, since it was going onto a can launcher that has the launch tube blind-pinned onto the upper receiver (which also meant removing the C-Clip before installing the pin, since Aero Precision is kind enough to do that for the 99% of people that aren’t doing what I had to). Putting the dust cover pin in from behind is a bit rough, as the forward assist housing is slightly in the way… but, as Garand Thumb might say, I was able to get it in that tight fit by forcing it in from the rear… just like my Navy guys like it. LOL!

  46. BelieveTheHype on November 11, 2021 at 1:38 am

I like how you dont show how badly you marred your upper after you installed that forward assist roll pin. Im sure I will end up doing the same thing. lol!
