I think it is valuable to have comparisons like this and that depending on the application, you can spend very little to get what you need for the job. If you hunt deer on your aunt’s property at the edge of a corn field where the woods start, you may not ever need anything more than a 3x – 9x / 40 mm second focal plane with some kind of bullet drop compensator reticle (usually the descending hash marks on the simpler scopes are 4 MOA or in hundreds of yards.) You set and forget and just shoot holdovers in the reticle. If you are hunting 200 yards or less, you could zero at 25 to 300 or 50 – 250 and just aim for the middle of the lower half of a deer chest. it is an 8 inch pie plate for a kill zone.

Or you can step and get something more that both hunts and competes. And still spend less than a grand.

    Cool beans.

The only scopes that recently deserve a clean slate is UTG. A couple years ago I lumped them in with NCStar and only would considered their bipods for range use and wouldn’t touch anything else. Lately they’ve actually be turning out some ok stuff for what you pay. With that said, I’m still saving until I can afford something proven.

Man,. Brother you did an exceptional job on this video, I myself just got some Vortex and Burris scopes witch I am happy with. But my next tool will definitely need one of those high end parts. 👍 Thanks for the video 🇺🇸 GOD BLESS AMERICA

  18. Ricky Massey on October 27, 2021 at 5:46 pm

I got the riton conquer x3 and has held up and tracks great. I had bad scopes in the past. I had one that somthing inside came apart from all the reciol. What ever it was. You could see it when you look through the scope on the lenses.

  19. Rick Dunbar on October 27, 2021 at 5:47 pm

This definitely isn’t a best of the best list.

  20. Richard Ma on October 27, 2021 at 5:49 pm

What is your opinion on Burris scopes?

  21. Kent Botheras on October 27, 2021 at 5:49 pm

Question, have a good price on a (MIL) Riton Optics X3 Conquer 6-24x50mm for about $370 or wait for an Arken FFP 4-16x 50 FFP VPR for $399 , with your knowledge is one better than the other? I do also see a good deal on the Riton Optics X5 Conquer 5-25x50mm MRAD for about $650 as well as a the other? I am was really headed to the Arken scope before I found the Riton X3. Thanks for your thought and time. Kent

"These scopes makes my dick jump on hard." WHAT?

  26. pipedreams57 on October 27, 2021 at 5:57 pm

Hello Joe. Just recently came across your reviews of scopes and love it. I am getting too old to hunt and have always been a Winchester Model 70 man in 30-06 caliber for its versatility and reloadability. I don’t go for the black rifles much but I do have a Mini 14 with a nice Nikon 3x9x40 on it. The rest are bolt guns. I like to spend a bit more money than most people on a gun that will gain value over time and make a good family tool to hand down for generations to come. Never done much shooting beyond 300 yards before but would like to be able to visit a new range in this area that goes out to 600 yards. I just bought a new Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe Lazerguard in 30-06 and would like your opinion of the simpler Vortex 6×18 x44mm with 1" tube , dead hold reticle marked to 500 yd. and covered turrets for a middle of the road rig until I can afford a better scope maybe. Do you think 18 x is enough to shoot 600 yards or do I need a bit more magnification? At 64, this gun swill soon be my sons. I hope he likes it as much as I do..

I’ll take scope suggestions for my new 7mm Rem mag..bolt action, 24" barrel, 3+1.. etc.. thinking 10x fixed power… suggestions?.. my price range is $500-$1500.. I went with the 7mm rem mag because of ballistic coefficient for the rounds, flat trajectory, round velocity, etc etc etc.. optics thoughts?
(I feel like you get more scope for the dollar with fixed as the money spent to build it is put into everything thats not adjustable, considering that adjustable scopes has to have a ton of money put into it for it to work well with a scope for a high powered round with lots of recoil).. idk.. I know barely nothing about scopes so any info and suggestions are welcome.. this firearm checks a lot of boxes for me.. hunting, range, energy..etc and checks a lot of the same boxes for shtf scenario as well.. finally building my, what I like to call my "AT&T" rifle.. reach out, reach out and touch someone…. Not sure how at&t would feel about my hijacking of their slogan for a gun.. hopefully very upset..(edit, don’t want anything with batteries or internal electronics)

Hi Joe, I have to ask if you’ve tested these new scopes with built in video capability. I know you’ve reviewed the TACTACAM’s before, and I own two, but these are very interesting concept scopes! Thanks for your true honest reviews. Could you review the Cabela’s brand scopes, from low end to mid range?

  37. Lenz Adlberger on October 27, 2021 at 6:07 pm

When you want Real German or Austrian high End Optic Zeiss V8 or Swarowski Z8 dont look at the price when you look trough one of these you know what clean sharp optics do / in Sunlight every half good Scope can give you a good Picture but when the light is low short before the Sun rises or in the evening this is the Time of really good Scopes the best of Zeiss when it comes to Lighttransmission is the Zeiss HT 3-12×56 the best Scope for bad Light

In Germany you get the Zeiss HT for round about 1750€ the V8 the big one for round about 2500€ the Swaro is Equal in price and Quality only Personal Preferences are the diference
