I was telling a friend before I watched this that Barnaul I notice gets great results. Tula is way off and for some reason poly wolf is too. Got 5 Hundred rounds for 2 Hundred at gun show during Corona. Thanks for the test Robski! Very helpful!

I called wolf and asked them what the difference was between wolf military classic ,wolf poly and the orignal wolf. The orignal wolf was made at tula along aide tula ammo (tula also holds the same zero in my ak as the orig wolf) the other are made in the barnul factory. With barnul ammo. I think monarc is made there from what i heard.

Barnaul vs vympel? It seems like barnaul is more accurate and consistent but vympel has the boattail for better bc and terminal performance.
I agree, I use it in my two SKS carbines. It and Red Army Standard are the most accurate hands down!

What about their 7.62×54 ???
for a 7.62×39, pull a bullet and look at the diameter. often factorys are using the std .30 bullets so .002 SAAMI spec won’t measure up. there you got the spread

Hi Rob, great video and thanks for posting. I have a question and I need your help. I just purchased some Barnaul’s 125 grain soft point to use in my WASR 10 and PSAK 47 Gen 3. Do you foresee, or know of any issues with this grain bullet vs the 123 or lower grain bullets?

But how about quality wise. I don’t see the neck or the primer sealed like Golden Tiger.
That ammo has fed well, performed well with no issues. Not only on my 7.62×39 but my .223 platforms too.
Ruger mini 30 with wolf hammer spring and the enhanced firing pin loves this stuff too

Remember to keep testing to be sure they keep up with the quality level. Years ago I had a favorite German 22 long rifle high velocity that shot dime size three to five shot groups at fifty yards out of a customized Ruger 10/22. It was a hunting gun so a brick would last a while. Ran low ordered two more bricks and it was garbage. With 1300 fps at the muzzle the extreme spread was over a hundred fps with occasional round being two hundred fps slow. Found a substitute, waited three years and ordered a few boxes of fifty. Absolute garbage. Will never order any RWS ever again. Went to Eley and had to deal with the soft wax lube round but accuracy was great. Shooting sitting squirrels in the head at fifty yards doesn’t leave much room for error.

Barnaul makes the bears. I have been rotating out wolf and all my crappy red army standard for it in my stock.

I love this ammo. It is super dirty, and smells like cheap fireworks. But it does seem to work well. Accurate and reliable. I guess the caveat is that you need to clean your rifle more. The gas tube was nasty.

Local shop had 500rd boxes of hollow points. Going to run them through my sks this weekend. Will have results when I get back.
I have never seen this ammo on the shelf. Only Wolf, Tula, Red Army Standard, Golden Tiger and Silver Bear.
Sad news people. Just tested the latest batch and its not as good as their older supply. Comparable to Wolf now. I should have stocked up on the older stuff.
Is the Bear series (Brown Bear, Silver bear etc) comparable? They are all made by Barnaul
I’ve seen all over the web that Monarch 7.62×39 (academy house brand) is just rebranded Barnaul. Can anyone confirm? I’ve have excellent results with those rounds.

2300 FPS sucks! I thought RAS was weak. At that slow speed, who cares about SD.
