34:05 you can cut 5000 rope or someone throat. good right? works like promised. try kill aliens with it. bcoz why kill humans? cost like uff. mayby i start knife company. have build same before cnc milling "automatic" free money
I have to strongly disagree with you about Spyderco’s H1 steel being "awesome". I am a former diver and have used [a lot] of different dive knives. I own a lot of Spyderco knives with H1 blades and I will not depend on them. H1 stainless blades are [too soft] to hold an edge. I will take something that may need to be cleaned after every dive over something that needs sharpening after every use. I am a huge Spyderco fan boy, but not of their H1 blades. H1 blades are to be avoided if you really use your knife.
you dont want any of this
serrated blades are not hard to sharpen, its not a complicated tehnique. but requiere patience. most serrated blades can be maintained sharp with just 1000 grit sandpaper. the conic/ cilindric diamond rod is required only if the knife is really dull.
the only real downside is when the blade is black. then you cant use any kind of sandpaper or stone to remove the bur. only leather strop, and soft moves.
OH AYE, IF IT’S NAE A BEEFY-BLADE ! ! !
Why are they even interviewing this guy lmao. This is bladehq right? This guy doesn’t even give a shit about knives.
The fact that you give any credence to gerber is troubling
Lost credibility due to only one cold steel. No balls apparently
I like beards, I like knives, but I hate ratatouille’s racoon eyes
Restrictions are nice guns grass knuckles anything that could be used as a weapon fall under the second amendment and they shall not be infringed. The problem is that people keep obeying these unconstitutional laws that are past.
I have that exact same K-Bar same colour and 4 kids lol
Lot of fans of the Gerber, but I’ve found they don’t hold an edge for shit. Love Emerson.
Anyone know anybody who carried and used their issues M9?
CRKT M-16: You mentioned muscle memory earlier in the vid for a safety button, but not in regard to the M-16 auto-lock. My EDC has been the M-16 (with auto-lock) since it was introduced, and I always keep a spare in a box – in the event of damage or loss. I can flip it closed single-handed just as fast as anyone with a non-locking folder.
Stopped watching because I was embarrassed for Neil every time you reached over him to grab a knife. “Please pass the salt” mean anything to you?
I’ve personally never understood the logic behind wanting a super beefy folder. If I Want to prioritize durability I just want a fixed blade even blade even a smaller one that’s lighter and stronger than a folder will ever be. And if I carry a folder for the convenience of fitting in my pocket without a sheath doubt a sheath then I’m not going to plan on doing any major chopping or Bush crafting knife work with it.
Let’s waste 1,000,000 rounds of ammo so we can get 1,000,000 rounds of ammo to waste next time.
How government "works".
Just went to the hogue website. Wow! They have some incredible knives. Pretty positive that one of them will be my next knife purchase.
I have an M16 14zsf
Bottom line…. A knife is a knife.
What do you think of the Gerber silver trident?
He is so right about the Infidel. Fantastic knife, just after a while it starts to stick. Benchmade will repair and sharpen forever for free – but I can’t see this as a military carry knife.
I would have shown the Protech TR4. I think the blade design lends it self to more tasks.
Do you offer military discounts
As always people are confusing "Survival and Tactical" — how can a knife with saw teeth be "Tactical"?? Tactical is –Killing– not opening up soup cans and cutting a loaf of bread. The best "Tactical knife I’ve ever used (and I’ve used many) is the Fox Modras Dagger. It has perfect weight and does what it’s intended to do very well- Tactical things. You’re not going to chop a tree down with it or use it as a screwdriver, pry bar or hammer though.
not everyone is infantry.. imagine being a sartec trying to untangle a child from a fishing net under water at 2 am in-20 weather dangling from a helicopter
What is the best Knife for Fighting and War?
The trench knife wasn’t changed due to the blade being weak, it was manly due to the trench knife being illegal by rules of war, you couldn’t use the brass knuckles. Also it’s wasn’t very versatile, ww2 soldier didn’t need to knife to just fight but also be used in day to day camp life, making fire, opening cans, etc.
k bar is one great knife
7" mean anything!?
Been collecting for high end knives 35yrs here in 🇳🇴.Fan of your show’s 👌🏼(have a Dew Hara on Layaway at Blade HQ right now infact,) But I think if this gentleman doesn’t care about brand or just want a “tool” for the job..he might not be the perfect match to judge blades,)There are plenty blade wielding “knife brothers”..warriors,out there I should think.?But keep up the good work.Videos are appreciated 😎👍🏼
Had these issued at the armory in the USMC in the 90’s. Got a bayonet or a kbar depending on what your grunt MOS was. The 31’s/41’s/51’s got kbars, the 11’s got bayonets.
In the 80’s I was deploying a lot then there wasn’t the selections available as today. I purchased a gerber mk2 for my lbe. Went with the USA made product for peace of mind only to be let down in Panama on deployment the first time I pulled out the mk2 to use the serrated edge to cut some saplings to hang the mosquito net the blade broke at the beginning of the serrations, you could see the end grain the metal was crystallized in appearance. Upon return to the states I called gerber to see if they would warranty it and I was told it was abuse and that wasn’t covered. I would never trust gerber for anything again. Since then I have only used K-bar. Never had to check their warranty.
Blade HQ tried to scam me twice. Treated me like garbage multiple times through customer experience and were actually breaking the law in my state by bait and switch advertising. Select the sale product, check out and only the more expensive product is in your cart. Had to file a BBB report after the second instance. Why do you folks keep giving them your money, the6 treat customers like trash, and pre sell all popular exclusives to themselves friends and family. Not a good company imho.
is nobody else seeing the shotgun on the wall
Need tactical underwear too!
I used to think otfs were less durable but I really don’t think they are, the most likely thing to fail on a pocket knife is the skinny stop pin that stops the blade from opening further, that’s much less reliable than any otf design imo. There’s videos of people hammering otfs into 2x4s, relentlessly stabbing them into car trunks, chucking them at trees and plywood, stabbing full force into hardwood ect and they don’t fail. When they do fail it’s usually just the spring mechanism in some fashion and the blade still locks out and basically just becomes a fixed blade.
Should have hired me for this one. Sapper. Carried LMF 2.
The KA-BAR USMC knife needs to be updated. They could start by rounding the edges where the knife and the handle meet. With it being squared it actually produces weak points which is why that knife seems to break there under stress. If they would thicken the tang just a little it would still be a light knife, but it would add more durability in the long run. Just some random thoughts.
I had a protect knife and the lock was not very strong
Hold up a gosh darn minute! Is that top left pistol a blinged out yeet cannon
Unrelated topic is that an M79 on the weapon wall?
Army Ranger just called out "tactical" items as BS. He uses a simple unknown blade during deployment, while I keep seeing internet experts complain about the shit metallurgy in Gerber’s blades. Oh the irony…
k bar is the best punk
I took out 7 enemy combatants with a sharpened crouton. Go Army!
Gonna weigh in on the auto lock for a sec. I have had a liner lock fail due to prying and close on my hand. So, for utility use the liner lock is a finger saver for sure!
Where do I get a Benchmade Outlast ! no amazon or ebay options I can find.
you never had to use one
All in all I ll still take the vintage KaBar s over all the others for all real bush crafts and survival stuff and fighting and Ive been teaching survival skills for decades
I used to own a Gerber spring loaded basically a spike. It deployed with enough force to puncture a 55 gal metal drum. I can’t remember what it was called. I traded it years ago (dumbass). know of anything like this ?
