This video goes over a brief history of Egyptian Military Firearms of the late 19th and most of the 20th century. I did not go over British firearms given to Egypt, just the guns that Egypt purchased for themselves. In the video are the Rolling Block, FN49, Hakim, and a Maadi AK.

Just bought a Hakim bayonet and was wondering what rifle it fitted! Thanks Florida Guy!
Interesting Egypt history btw.
The Egyptian FN49s are awesome. Too bad mines was stolen. The one I had was in very good condition and the bore was fine. The FN 49s are plenty accurate and a pleasure to shoot. Right now I am in the process of looking for one until my original turns up.
I like learning about Surplus firearms. I am from Ontario Canada and Surplus arms are becoming my favorite. Great vid I really like your channel.
But what about the Pistols??
Good story.
you skipped allot of wepones
does egypt has history
Good overview..👍🏽
Appreciate the amount of effort you’ve put into this video. Decent research for both weapon and country histories.
Long live Egypt 🇪🇬
One of the placesI lived was Maadi, a suburb of Cairo. A fdew yeasrs later I heard of the Maadi AK and had to have one. I went to high school in Maadi and we were evacuated in May 1967, Just before "The Six Day War". My mother and I went to Athens, Greece where I graduated in 1968. I loved Egypt, it was alot of fun.
Egypt is a really cool region. In my Non-western humanities course we learned about Orientalism and Europe’s obsession with the Middle East in the 19th century, from Orientalist Art (which is argued to by full of stereotypes and misconceptions), and colonialism like what you said with the British takeover of Egypt. it’s a really cosmopolitan area too, because you had ancient Egyptians during the old and middle kingdoms, then Alexander the great the Greeks came, then the Romans, then the age of Islam. lots of people came and went, which I find very interesting myself.
oh, and lovely Egyptian wood and steel is great too. lol. great video also, it was interesting learning about Post-Ottoman Egypt!
great video!

Nah those FN 49s that Egypt got were flawed, many misfired and some blew up when shooting. They claim that big part of why the Egyptian military took control and ended the monarchy in 1952 were the bad guns they got in 1948.
I need an FN49 so hard.
Hope you’re eventually able to find a Rasheed rifle in 7.62×39. It’s a very slick little indigenously produced piece patterned after the Hakim.
I look forward to more videos.Keep it up!
Can i translate it to Arabic, i think a lot of Egyptians will be interested
Where’s your Rasheed? They went from Rasheed to Ak47. Only 8000 Rasheed were produced, and about 500 got into the country. So the order goes from hakim to Rasheed and into the Ak47.
and now Egyptian army use beretta arx 160
Hakim rifle is a great rifle i have one of this crazy stuff
Another great video. Thanks!
Where the Rasheed at?
good thing I live in Egypt
Of these rifles.
Thank you for this video! As an Egyptian and something of a military history enthusiast myself, I highly appreciated it.
