A Beginners Guide: What is XMP? and How To Enable Your RAM's XMP.

After buying/installing new RAM into your computer it’s important to know how to enable your RAM’s XMP profile (eXtreme Memory Profile) otherwise you’ll be missing out on performance you paid good money for. This video is designed to teach those new to PC DIY what an XMP profile is, why you want to enable your RAM’s XMP profile and how to do it. It’s actually a very easy thing to do but when you’ve never done it before I understand how it can seem a little intimidating. I hope to set you mind at ease by saying there’s nothing to worry about; as you follow along with this guide you’ll be able to easily get your RAM’s XMP profile enabled and have your new RAM running at full speed in no time.

I got issue, when i save and exit and reboot the pc it wont actually start, i mean i can see that the pc is on but the monitor stay off, and the only way to start it again is to force shutdown with bllding the power off button and then start it, but in that case the settings wont be saved… Any idea?

My asus z590 motherboard is running the ram for my i7-11700k at 2666ghz but I’m afraid to turn XMP on I heard people saying it will void the CPU warranty, is basically overclocking, etc and even if your cpu does support higher speeds (which it does, 3200ghz) i’ve heard you should configure the RAM manually since XMP is sometimes buggy and won’t configure the RAM settings right.

  31. Windy on November 22, 2021 at 7:13 pm

  34. Ohma on November 22, 2021 at 7:22 pm

Hey I’m still having issues, when I set my ram to it’s XMP profile (3200) it’s GSKILL trident z 3200. When I set the xmp profile my pc just keeps power cycling and then it doesn’t post/boot. Just keeps bringing me to bios and defaults the ram speed to 2133

  35. xxgamerfreakxl on November 22, 2021 at 7:22 pm
