That’s just a nasty freakin round. As a traditional hollow point guy I dunno how I feel about it honestly lol but I’m grateful for the info tho. I think Tommy’s the best ammo review channel ever.

Hi there , i am a new subscriber to your channel. I have been to many channels about guns and types of bullets that are very effective for self defence ammunition. Since you do videos on this topic you understand how much bias and un founded opinions there are out there and as a husband and father i take self defense very seriously so i dont have time nor patience (which my kids already test my patience but we love them ) for all the noise from all the opinions and back and forth bickering (let me say there are many awesome gun channels who do valuable work and research into weapons and i am grateful for them ) I finally however made it to your channel and not only do you convey and illustrate the facts and do it in a way that is easy to follow and understand , but you use the scientific method very effectively , all the numbers and gun gargen actually become very fascinating and as mentioned above easy to follow. Thank you for the good work you do, i understand how challenging and how much goes into making just one video so just know it does not go un noticed.

More gimmicky bullshit thought up by the gun industry

January 13, 2021: $22 on Federal website for 20 rounds.

  13. james smith on November 29, 2021 at 9:12 pm

I have these in .40 caliber. The larger pieces of the .40 round should give a definite advantage over the 9mm.

  14. 《KiNG》 on November 29, 2021 at 9:13 pm

Keep these loaded in my and my wifes carry 9mms

  15. Michael Treu on November 29, 2021 at 9:14 pm

Wow. Federal does an amazing job engineering their loads. Exactly what they advertise and what the consumer wants. This type of technology is what makes subsonic loads effective so I’m hoping to see this type of projectile from Federal for the .300 blackout and hopefully future 8.6 blackout. The success of these loads is the tailoring of bullet to caliber, velocity and expected use.

    RIP is a joke

I thought this ammo was interesting, it’s hard to come by now but luckily I had bought quite a bit of it a few years ago. This test definitely makes me happy I did, very cool to see it in action.

  20. mcantu197 on November 29, 2021 at 9:17 pm

What happened to all of the rifle bullet test videos? Your 5.56 videos were the best on youtube

  21. Steven Hargis on November 29, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Maybe I’m wrong but I thought you’re never supposed to shoot at flat steel?

  22. Glonks on November 29, 2021 at 9:18 pm

I’m a fan of the Federal Synetch for a training ammo.
It’s cheap*, reliable & makes it safer to shoot steel.
    * Was cheap before the ammo shortage of 2020.
Hopefully that turns around soon as I miss being able to shoot higher round counts without having to switch to .22LR.

  23. XTHE12THMONKEYX on November 29, 2021 at 9:18 pm

We need you back! I’m sure more than a handful would donate to a patreon to keep these going!

  24. Artemisflame on November 29, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Want to see these 9mm bullets in a 9×25 Dillon load. Wonder if they would explode immediately once fired, or if they’d actually survive to the target lol

  25. Johnny 1982 on November 29, 2021 at 9:20 pm

I always thought this Ammo was something special. It’s not it’s literally powder coated cast projectiles. Just like what I make now

  26. Ballista on November 29, 2021 at 9:20 pm

WE MISS YOU. PLEASE COME BACK

  27. Paul Son on November 29, 2021 at 9:21 pm

  28. Serega on November 29, 2021 at 9:24 pm

It was minimum 12 inches-was best ammo ever invented

  30. CAROLINA PATRIOT on November 29, 2021 at 9:28 pm

I’d imagine once lung tissue was accessed by the fragment, they’d penetrate further than in gel, since lung tissue would have little resistance to penetration.

  31. Michael Schoemann on November 29, 2021 at 9:28 pm

May I say you are my number one source for ammo test videos. An an engineer I truly appreciate just every single detail and measurement you do. I carry 147 gun HST in my 229 legion, and that’s all I’ll ever need, thanks to you. Eliminated need for +p or any other catch all new marketing.. however, these I may have to try……. bottom line: would you carry this or 147 gn HST ?

  32. Madbiker Wolf on November 29, 2021 at 9:29 pm

I wish you’d come back. The Youtube gun community needs your logic, rigorous testing methodology, and lack of foolishness.

  46. lgwappo on November 29, 2021 at 9:50 pm

This will replace my Federal HST carry ammo if I ever find it. HST is great but this may be better. I just watched a video of segmented .22LR bullets penetrating hams & chickens completely so I did a search for segmented centerfire ammo & landed here. I hope Federal offers this in other calibers too.

I carry these in my EDC Glock 19. A bit pricey in my area, but def. worth the money IMO. Amazing round.

  50. Edgar Martinez on November 29, 2021 at 9:53 pm

Hope you’re well tnoutdoors9! Great ammo. Paid $29.99 at my LGS for box of 20. Not the best price, but happy to see it works well!
