Wasteland 3 Builds: Shotgun Sergeant

Wasteland 3 Builds: Shotgun Sergeant https://fextralife.com/wasteland-3-builds-shotgun-sergeant/ In this Wasteland 3 Builds Guide I’m going to be showing you my Shotgun Sergeant Build which uses Shotguns to shred its enemies by the dozen, all while buffing its teammates in the process. Wasteland 3 can be extremely overwhelming for new players and can cause confusion for veterans alike. In this Build Guide, I’ll explain just how to make this Build, including what weapons to use, what Skills to take, and which Perks to pick up. If you’ve been looking for a Leadership Build then check this one out!

The Shotgun Sergeant Build uses a combination of Shotguns, Leadership, Mechanics, and Survival to pump out tons of damage, thereby buffing its party members. By having lots of points into Leadership, the Shotgun Sergeant not only increases its party members’ Hit Chance but also Critical Chance and Damage when it kills multiple enemies or boss enemies. When combined with a Shotgun that has such a wide arc of attack, and extremely high damage, this is not hard to do at all. Especially when Shotguns usually only cost 3 AP maximum per shot.

But wait there’s more! Not only do these buffs apply to the Shotgun Sergeant itself, but this Build also gains increased damage vs. machines for each point into Mechanics, and increased damage into mutants and creatures for each point into Survival. Top that off with a couple of Perks in those vary same Skill lines, and you have yourself a force to be reckoned with!

man, ur tips like a pro

  2. Andre Melo on December 6, 2021 at 8:08 pm

    lol, shitty build

  3. Neverwas on December 6, 2021 at 8:08 pm

I’m looking forward to an assault rifle build from you.

  4. Chris Harlin on December 6, 2021 at 8:09 pm

Very close to my initial character build minus the first aid

  5. Sandy Tamberi on December 6, 2021 at 8:09 pm

Imho charisma/leadership is a totally waste of point and shotguns are the worst weapons in game… And I am a shotgun lover, it hurts.
A flamethrower simply humiliates all shotgun with penetration, passive burning dot and engulfing foes and that skill for annihilate veichles…

  6. Kavin Ni on December 6, 2021 at 8:10 pm

This build is busted as hell. Finish a playthrough with it before it gets nerfed!

  7. matthew almond on December 6, 2021 at 8:14 pm

Does anyone know if damage boosts stack additively or multiplicatively?

  8. ZaneGreay on December 6, 2021 at 8:15 pm

is there any viability in a quickdraw/ handgun build. something with super high evasion and fast firing?

  9. Cheshire_Skatkat on December 6, 2021 at 8:16 pm

Please do optimal build for leader/fast talker. I want like a diplomatic character.

  10. Thomas Neal on December 6, 2021 at 8:17 pm

I wish I had built my leader like this instead of with AR focus.

  11. Christopher Mercado on December 6, 2021 at 8:19 pm

You’re carrying my girlfriend and I through DOS2 and will soon carry us through Wasteland 3!

  12. Diego Alejandro Higuera Sierra on December 6, 2021 at 8:20 pm

Which is the max level for the Rangers?

  13. R.E.Z on December 6, 2021 at 8:22 pm

    Barter/Charisma build?

  14. tommygunn504 on December 6, 2021 at 8:22 pm

So my W2 shotgunner leader was a similar build to this, except I maxed coordination from the start and lowered my speed. I’m just getting into W3. Similar setup to yours, but with other skills for roleplay/dialogue purposes.

  15. Hallowed 4th on December 6, 2021 at 8:23 pm

As the greatest shotgun sergeant ever said, “keep your friends close, and your enemies within range of your primary weapon!”

EDIT: I should totally build a red team squad…

  16. Reyner Montero on December 6, 2021 at 8:27 pm

I`m following your guides and I have a question: If I want a certain skill like weapon modding and I use it in a character then the skill is usable for the whole group? or only the character with the skill can modifie weapons? the same with lockpicking?

  17. VIPMVPanyquestions on December 6, 2021 at 8:27 pm

7 points into charisma would be more efficient for strike buildup. That leaves 3 points for more damage/survivability into awareness/int/str. With 7 points it will take 5 shots to build up strike and putting 10 points in only brings that down to 4 shots.

  18. Tyler Merritt on December 6, 2021 at 8:28 pm

Okay I love this build BUT shouldn’t we avoid survival for the random events across the map? Aren’t their really good things in those encounters sometimes?

  19. aaron kimball on December 6, 2021 at 8:29 pm

what about the explosive auto shotgun you get from zero pricely for having high hundred families fame?

  20. Michael Andreasen on December 6, 2021 at 8:29 pm

As always, great guide! This game seems about as complex as divinity2

  21. Vegar B. Vik on December 6, 2021 at 8:30 pm

Running this build on one of my starters. half the time multikill does not trigger. i can kill 3-4 enemies in one blast with the shotgun and still not get a multikill..

  22. Bellystraw on December 6, 2021 at 8:31 pm

I want to thank Jesus for the recruit system. My 2 dudes that I made will probably end up pretty mangled by my indecisiveness so having a bunch of back ups is mandatory

  23. lordkaerthon on December 6, 2021 at 8:33 pm

    Definitely using this build!

  24. simplesun on December 6, 2021 at 8:34 pm

Can we use this build and switch the shotgun to pistols? Maxing out small arms?

  25. Ryan Shi on December 6, 2021 at 8:36 pm

this build break game after get the final auto shotgun

  26. ForTheHonor on December 6, 2021 at 8:36 pm

bro this build is so good well done.

  27. 4ksandknives on December 6, 2021 at 8:36 pm

    Favourite build, so amazing.

  28. Nguyen Pham on December 6, 2021 at 8:37 pm

Getting close and personal? Count me in.

  29. AeonQuasar on December 6, 2021 at 8:37 pm

Question: Is it not better to focus on Intelligence and Strength first up to the recommended level to get max out of the +CON and +SKILL POINTS per level?

  30. Neonmirrorblack on December 6, 2021 at 8:39 pm

Biggest downside to this build is that it takes dreadfully long to get shotguns that pack a punch on Ranger or Supreme Jerk. They might hit a lot of targets, but until you get Devastation, the damage is only OK outside of precision strikes. This isn’t too dissimilar to my Leader build, although I didn’t dump a bunch of points into Survival and Mechanics during the early game. Was going for Hard Ass as his third skill to focus on, while the entire group will eventually get at least 3 into Mechanics. Will try this build on my next playthrough. It will likely do better damage earlier, but you practically have to forsake everything except Rally and Devastation initially to get it going.

  31. Jason Campbell on December 6, 2021 at 8:40 pm

You say max it out but there are dolls and gear that help max, so how many points do we add at the very start?

  32. xaap on December 6, 2021 at 8:42 pm

any way you can show us a starter team? and what builds to use on them?

  33. Bobby Woods on December 6, 2021 at 8:42 pm

How do these builds stack up on supreme jerk

  34. ALEPH NOLE on December 6, 2021 at 8:42 pm

If you put two range extending attachments on your shotgun then it quickly becomes a 24-30 range wide spread sniper that can easily kill 3 enemies a turn even if they are behind cover.

  35. DQuake on December 6, 2021 at 8:42 pm

Does it matter if you have 2 leaders on a team?

  36. Jacob Sauers on December 6, 2021 at 8:43 pm

I have a question, does leadership activate if you have a mechanic that gets a kill with their turrets? Thinking about messing around and trying to find a “Engineer Leader” build.

Also, do the turrets pick up the stat boosts the character has? For example, if the character has +20% damage to humans, do the turrets get that buff also?

Unfortunately, realized the definition of “multi-kill” is multiple kills in one attack. Not multiple kills within a round. Therefore the shotgun makes more sense for a leader. Turrets weren’t as effective as I wanted them to be

  37. mike the Cob on December 6, 2021 at 8:45 pm

How about smg and assault build?

  38. Roy van Dijk on December 6, 2021 at 8:48 pm

I’m late to this game, but I’m trying this build on my second playthrough, but shotguns are pretty weak early game. I’m barely doing any damage at level 6 on Ranger diff. Hoping it will get better

  39. Jount on December 6, 2021 at 8:49 pm

I love these guys and there videos like this.I do but what difficulty are they playing?? Anything above easy you gotta adapt, this stuff goes out the window you can use this as a little direction thats all.

  40. InfiniteSinX You on December 6, 2021 at 8:52 pm

nice video but seems rally is bugged after latest patch

  41. Adbeya Ramadhan on December 6, 2021 at 8:53 pm

can this build use automatic rifles? why shotgun?

  42. Alpha Wolf on December 6, 2021 at 8:53 pm

I must admit I love your builds. I’ve been using them for a co op run with only slight adjustments for an entire team made of them and I’ve had fantastic results.

  43. Spacecowboy2020 on December 6, 2021 at 8:54 pm

Are there balaclava in the character creator?

  44. JW Choi on December 6, 2021 at 8:57 pm

2 Pump is bugged… sets your crit at -15% (regardless of INT or previous crit chance) and doesn’t lower -hit. Hence its a pretty bugged/terrible perk.

  45. Mrip on December 6, 2021 at 9:00 pm

where do you find the spectrum assault set? im level 18 havent come across it yet

  46. Andrew Handles on December 6, 2021 at 9:02 pm

Anyone else realize kwon is op n he’s the only rifle you’ll need? Lol what a kiss ass

  47. Khristian Kellum on December 6, 2021 at 9:03 pm

Well it’s not DOS2 but I’ll take it

  48. Rathalos King on December 6, 2021 at 9:05 pm

I’m playing on wastelander and have friendly fire off but there’s still friendly fire when I’m playing with my friend

  49. Good Money on December 6, 2021 at 9:06 pm

I have an assault rifle leader . I love him !!!
