Unboxing: Beretta 1301 Tactical Shotgun in FDE

Unboxing: Beretta 1301 Tactical Shotgun in FDE

For this unboxing I wanted to film my initial impressions of my new Beretta 1301 Tactical Shotgun in FDE. This is a gas operated 12 gauge shotgun that is a competitor to the Benelli M4. This version is in the Flat Dark Earth color and to my surprise is a version with a removable choke.

Man I want one of those so bad saving up for one now

  2. Harold Moran on December 4, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Out of the case there is not an owner’s manual, I had to print my own. The paper enclosed is Safety information on a folded paper. On mine the limiter was installed at the factory and I had to remove it.

  3. Nature_slayer on December 4, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Why didn’t you just buy the 1301 with the pistol grip?

  4. Miguel Morillo on December 4, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Part of the video could not be seen, out of camera range

  5. karim khan on December 4, 2021 at 10:12 pm

I got the Langdon Tactical version and this is my first shotgun. I would appreciate a maintenance video and accessories installation videos. I really want a pistol grip on my shotgun.

Ehh, nice BUT I’ll take my 590A1 every day. Sure it’s heavier but it’s not like I’ll be ‘hauling’ it around. Plus I get the “racked” sound. The semi s/g I have is the Win ‘SX3’ so there’s that..

  8. Bobeeg on December 4, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Similar to Benelli…?.. 😀 yes they share some parts because Beretta bought Benelli in 1983. The M-4 is almost 2 pounds heavier because of the
1998 military contract that required a metal beef up of certain parts. I do think the 1301 is an incredible shotgun. Be well. Good Video.

I like the Mossberg 930 it’s a great shooter. Beretta makes great stuff too I had a 92D 9MM Double action only I couldn’t miss with that pistol. I’m so sorry I sold it. I put the money toward something better. My first gun was a Mossberg 500 more than thirty years ago. I did change all the springs and pins and some other small parts. I do have a Winchester because of the price and I needed a autoloader. My other shotguns are all Mossberg Good luck with the shotgun enjoy

Too cool. Thanks for the vid!

  11. Matt Walters on December 4, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Nice, he’s never seen one disassembled but he took her apart pretty quick!

  12. Sean Harrison on December 4, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Just got one today , how do you remove the magazine limit plug ?

  13. Jim Lehman on December 4, 2021 at 10:20 pm

This is an awesome shotgun, lighting fast!

  14. Hi on December 4, 2021 at 10:22 pm

The only choke I like is my chicken choked.

  15. irzyxelwj on December 4, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Been shotty shopping. Definitely looked at this. I’d been also looking at fde but now I think it may be a bit bright for me. Unless I did some dusting on it idk

  16. Bobby Moss on December 4, 2021 at 10:23 pm

The LE version has non-removable choke.

Don’t like FDE color, this version in particular make the shotgun look like plastic.

  17. Rollo Tape on December 4, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Is this one better than the regular model, for home defense?

  18. InkwellFoto on December 4, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Marine is nickel electrolysis, for use on salt water law enforcement

  19. beaker2000 on December 4, 2021 at 10:25 pm

I would suggest the Aridus Magpul stock adapter and CROM optics mount in addition to the Nordic extension. The Magpul shotgun stock is the best I have ever used. And recoil is not harsh at all, in fact it is quite manageable. I haven’t shot magnum loads though… Best Shotgun Ever IMO. ALso remove the limiter that is under the spring… The gas system is on the barrel you took off.

  20. v SIG on December 4, 2021 at 10:25 pm

I like it but it look so plastic made…I think for home defense its perfect.

  21. svtkilr on December 4, 2021 at 10:25 pm

Looks fun to shoot but I’m buying another M4 I sold mine 15 years ago and I need another been searching for a 3 position collapsible stock with a 7+1 mag tube I found one for $2300 but I just missed out on it! I’ll find one in the next week or 2. Maybe I’ll buy a 1301 after I get my M4 LE 17115

  22. eyetineetee on December 4, 2021 at 10:27 pm

    Lets go Brandon

  23. Bentley Joshua on December 4, 2021 at 10:27 pm

Just brought me the Marine version of the Beretta 1301. I’ll be watching you for all of your upgrades…

  24. Tim Hallas on December 4, 2021 at 10:28 pm

So the "gas system" is inside the magazine tube? Do some more research if you think you want to "explain shit" to other people. This looks like a $700 shotgun to me. You paid too much for that plastic case.

  25. Mike Honcho on December 4, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    Nice blaster

  26. 505 PRODUCTIONS on December 4, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Well I own a benelli m4,and you own multiple! You really have made me take a few looks at at this one!

  27. toadamine on December 4, 2021 at 10:33 pm

    That FDE is hideous…. lol

  28. Chris R on December 4, 2021 at 10:33 pm

I might get hate but that color is ugly.

  29. Mike Mendez on December 4, 2021 at 10:35 pm

  30. Toonah Feesh on December 4, 2021 at 10:37 pm

Did you ever end up shooting it?

  31. Magnum Shotgun on December 4, 2021 at 10:42 pm

    Solid 12ga.

I am planning to buy one also at the same color. Keep us updated about the shooting and cleaning

  32. Phantom Sharpshooter on December 4, 2021 at 10:45 pm

Great Shotgun! I did a vid on how to take out the Magazine Plug for those who are interested

  33. John Snider on December 4, 2021 at 10:47 pm

I just picked mine up from the FFL. It came in a cardboard box, no choke key but it did have the +2 extension tube already on it. $1400 out the door and shoots like a dream.

  34. Renzo Broglio on December 4, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Ma lo fanno anche in calibro 20 mancino

  35. Nathan Young on December 4, 2021 at 10:54 pm

The Gen 2 1301 Tacticals are threaded for choke tubes and comes with an improved cylinder choke tube.

  36. MbisonBalrog on December 4, 2021 at 10:55 pm

Base model has no sling ports

  37. Colonizer-Chan on December 4, 2021 at 10:56 pm

damn i want one of these really badly

  38. 556 Channel (HD) on December 4, 2021 at 10:56 pm

I can’t believe that I overlooked this firearm. I will be picking one up.

  39. Matt Walters on December 4, 2021 at 10:57 pm

I really wanna get one of those, you’d think that hard case would be used specifically for transport. I would be content with black but the OD Green would be nice. I think the shotgun actually has manageable recoil.

  40. Sir Lomax on December 4, 2021 at 10:59 pm

Just picked up mine today in OD green.

  41. Max Petroleum on December 4, 2021 at 11:01 pm

Is that FDE as bright as it looks on screen, or is it darker?

  42. Asher Dog on December 4, 2021 at 11:01 pm

Does anyone know if the first round in the magazine on an open bolt is automatically picked up and chambered like an A5 does?

  43. Jonathan Friedman on December 4, 2021 at 11:01 pm

All things considered, a pretty a pretty badly done review by someone who doesn’t seem particularly familiar with what he purchased.

  44. detroitchaldean on December 4, 2021 at 11:02 pm

You disassembled it pretty fast . I wish I could of seen you taking the choke on it and I would like to see your next video on the magazine extension tube . I just picked one up . I also would like to see if I can put a mossberg type of pistol handle on it.

  45. AlmostOn TimeHero on December 4, 2021 at 11:02 pm

I have not been able to find a Nordic extension or magpul SGA stock for my 1301.

  46. T Dunn on December 4, 2021 at 11:03 pm

I just purchased this shotgun in OD green. I was originally looking for a Benelli M4, the shop didnt have any on hand, but this Beretta was there and without knowing, I think i got a great value for the money and this machine can run. I had no idea the 1301 tactical would shoot and feel so good.

Did that hard case come with the gun or was that an extra cost?

    That color is FUGLY

  50. Steven Melikean on December 4, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Beautiful firearm! I just bought the "black Matte version" of this shotgun (MPN J131T18C) and I was concerned about the choke as well. Only Generation 2 versions come with the OBHP-IC choke adapter where you can switch out the fixed cylinder choke. Essentially, you need to ensure the letters C (my version), F (your version), G (OD Green Matte, or M (Marine) is on the MPN you bought or you have a Generation 1 shotgun. In effect, no choke adaptability and issues with the bolt release (resolved in Generation 2). In any event, thank you for your review, as you also confirmed the nice container it comes in, as I was still wondering about that. Looking forward to shooting mine at the El Dorado National Forest, approximately 4 miles from my California mountain home. Outstanding unboxing review and congratulations on your purchase! Per just about every review I have read and the voluminous research I did before purchasing this shotgun – this is the BEST semi-automatic shotgun on the market . . . yes, that includes the Benelli M series shotguns, albeit, they are very, very good as well, albeit, significantly more expensive.

Almost forgot, is there another limiter in the magazine? Again, thanks!
