Been a S&W fan for decades. Good to learn the Colt lingo. Everything being named after some kind of snake. Although Colt revolvers are not sized exactly like S&W there are similarities. Most Colt’s seem to be in either the K frame or L frame S&W frame classification. I do think the Colt Python is a direct competitor to the S&W-686 and S&W-586, both L frame. Depending on the finish of the Colt Python. The S&W-686 is stainless steel and S&W-586 is blued.
The Colt Anaconda in .44-magnum is directly comparable to the S&W-29 or the S&W-629. The #29 is a blued finish and #629 is stainless steel.
I can recommend everyone get a revolver. Start with a .38-Special. add a .357-magnum later. And get yourself a good holster too. Life is too short for junk holster. Like those cheapo cloth holsters.
I owned a Trooper Mark III. Loved that gun, wished I still had it.
never seen a diamondback as cheap as 600 anywhere
I just got me colt python for my first gun
