All but the last two are Fudd-guns. I like pretty stuff from yesteryear as much as the next guy. But, Jesus …

  3. PJsjustclownin on November 5, 2021 at 5:53 pm

Smith .357 J frame Airweight… a gun you can actually carry every day. Guessing not many 4" Pythons being concealed carry on a regular basis.

what about the colt python 😆

  6. Todd Walker on November 5, 2021 at 6:02 pm

Since when is $1500 or more for a 357 mag revolver reasonable…

  7. Ten Draftsdeep on November 5, 2021 at 6:06 pm

I’ll take my Smith and Wesson 1992 .357 magnum over that Colt any day. But any way, great video!

No bro, not a teething problem. Colt screwed up. I’ll pass. Got many a Smiths.

Sorry I’d sell plenty of these things if I had them.

The Python’s are oversold on how "good" they are. What people forget is because they were hand fit, some were fit better than others and thus some triggers and operation are much smoother than others. Many people had theirs worked on after the fact too. The problem is Pythons are prone to going out of timing and now there’s not many people left who work on the old Pythons and part stock is low if not unavailable. The new Pythons at least being mass produced means more part stock if there’s something wrong with it.

A Henry Big Boy I can somewhat agree with. A good lever action is a good lever action and one shouldn’t sell a good one unless they just no longer have an interest in the caliber or lever actions.

The Ruger M77/357, I guess if you like bolt actions in .357 I wouldn’t sell one but I personally never saw much value in one myself considering lever actions offered high capacities and were far more affordable. As far as accuracy is concerned, I’m sure being an M77 it was an accurate gun but the distances you’d be firing at would be short and the lever actions on the market would do just fine. So I’d have no trouble selling one off.

The CZ is the same way, it’s a .17 HMR. A good one and an accurate one, but finding good accurate .17 HMR’s isn’t hard to do. Got good options with Savage, Ruger, and other companies I don’t see what makes it so special comparatively speaking to it’s competition so I see no reason to hang on to it and never sell it if you’re a .17 HMR shooter.

The Marlin 39-A I can agree with to an extent. It’s a classic gun, a good design, and a solid .22 LR lever gun. However, so are the Henry’s and even the Rossi’s these days and they don’t fetch the same kind of asking price a used 39-A does just because it’s "no longer made". Which to me is sometimes unattractive as if parts break, fixing it may be a problem like the old Pythons. So unless you’re just hung up on having a Marlin I also see no reason not to potentially sell it.

The Buckskinner really only applies to people who shoot black powder and do muzzle loading. That’s not my forte personally, but I can safely say that more modern muzzle loaders are plenty capable and once more fail to see the appeal. But perhaps since it’s not my forte I could be missing something with this particular rifle and I’ll leave room for that possibility.

Personally not a Remington 870 fan. I prefer Mossbergs, but honestly there’s nothing that special about an 870. Maybe a specific model that’s collectible or something but a stock 870 Express? No reason to keep it unless you just want to. While Freedom Group era 870’s had horrific QC issues, RemArms that bought them out has been making decent ones using their old part stock. The fits and finishes are noticeably better than Freedom Group era Remington was, but now they want $400 or more for what used to be a $300 or less gun. The Mossberg Maverick 88 does all the work the 870 does, weighs less, has better placement for the slide release and safety and only costs $200. And stepping up in costs, Mossberg 500’s and 590’s are far superior for the money.

The Benelli M2 is a very solid gun once broken in and sometimes worked on a bit. They have an excellent reputation and I’d never tell anybody NOT to buy one if interested. But I also see nothing super special about to never want to sell it either. Stoeger M3000’s are M2’s at less than half the cost and have proven reputations. I won’t say it’s "as good" it’s clearly not as smooth right out of the box, but 500 shells later most shooters can’t tell you which is which in a blind shoot test. Now, if you got a Super Black Eagle or something or even an older M1, I’d say keep those because of rarity but the M2 isn’t too hard to find, just expensive. But if you’re buying Benelli I don’t think that’s a concern to you.

The Beretta M92 is another one of those guns I’d have no issues selling. There are more advanced models out there for them for the standard to hold much value that way. Even in the realm of hammer fired semi autos, there’s plenty of better choices than the M92 but to each their own on that one I’d say. Again, no issue with selling.

Lastly the AR-15. For many people AR’s are a hobby. So buying, selling, building, etc are all part of the game. I can understand easily why somebody would want an AR-15 but there’s nothing inherently special about them for the most part. I have bought and sold many AR’s and the ones I currently have are nothing like the ones I first had. As time has passed the AR just hasn’t been what’s interested me in terms of firearms but I still understand it’s place.

Sorry Dude the Browning Hi Power led the way in hi cap 9’s.

  12. 51Dss on November 5, 2021 at 6:19 pm

The 2020 Colt Python? really? I don’t think so. For a revolver there are at least two Smith & Wesson models that are tried true and reliable and accurate as they should be. The SW 686 available in a variety of bbl lengths and the J frame model 36 are just two SW models that a person should never sell or trade. Keep it and hand it down to your son, grandson…
Then you include the Beretta 92? really? Fine gun but big as a boat anchor. There are a lot of other 9mm pistols that would be far and away better than that gun.
I disagree with you on most of the guns you presented in this video. About the only one I would agree is the Marlin 22A – its a high quality gun and it is historic. There is nothing unique or special about any of the other guns you talked about here.

Sponsored by the 2020 Colt Python?

  22. Richard Colligon on November 5, 2021 at 6:35 pm

I have several of these firearm’s, but I got one of the early model’s of the New Python and wasn’t thrilled with it and returned it, but I guess I’ll have to look at the newer one’s now that CZ own’s Colt, but the also have Dan Wesson revolver’s. Unfortunately Remington killed several companies. The old 870’s are great, but in their later year’s the only model I would trust was the police model’s. But the new company is up and running and I’m pulling for them. They had messed up the Marlin brand also, but I think Ruger will bring them back to their glory day’s. Of course beside’ being a Henry and Ruger fanboy I have a Henry for every situation and can get same hole accuracy along with my 77/44 and 77/357. With the 357 Henry’s you have to make sure the 38 special your using. Ruger CEO said about month ago that they the Marlin’s should start shipping by the end of December. I’ll give them sometime to work out any bug’s. But I won’t the 45-70 CB cowboy rifle because it hold’s 9+1 of pure whoop ass. Well to all my 2A friend’s I wish you a great day! Sincerely Ruger Rich

. I ll take all my scary black rifles cambered in 556, 6.5 CM, 7.62×39, 6.5 Grendel, 308, 9mm, and 458 Socom. My kids and Grand kids will know how to fix and build all these MSR platforms from stripped lowers, springs and detents, to replacing any trigger platform….barrels… anything…

  24. TheJHMAN1 on November 5, 2021 at 6:37 pm

A Beretta 92? really. The real surprise was the Ruger .357/77 which is a really great rifle not very popular but a good choice.

So many people don’t proof read what they post and some of the comments are like they were written by someone that’s half drunk or talking in their sleep.
It’s a shame too because you might have something interesting to say if we could only understand what you’re saying.
P.S. those 3 dots to the right of your post will allow you to edit your post and make complete and coherent sentences.

Did colt python sponsor you or something lol. Should be called best 2020 python companion guns you should never sell

  29. mechredd on November 5, 2021 at 6:43 pm

Trade the Remingyon 870 Express for a Remington 870 Wingmaster.

There’s a reason the Wingmaster costs twice as much as the Express. Remington puts time and effort into the Wingmaster while the Express is thrown together to meet a budget requirement.

The guns are the same design but you’ll swear that their different after handling both.

How am I supposed to buy them if you keep them?

  32. michael sarkisian on November 5, 2021 at 6:44 pm

If you are going to mention the AR-15, then you had better mention ALL the calibers available for the platform, ie 450 Bushmaster, 6.5 Grendel, 350 Legend and on and on! Given there available caliber, there are very few game animals you can’t take with the AR platform!
