Thompson Center Arms – Black Diamond muzzleloader rifle

Thompson Center Arms – Black Diamond muzzleloader rifle

A quick look at my newly acquired Thompson Center Arms Black Diamond Black powder muzzleloader rifle. Very nice budget rifle for deer hunting. This one is on loan, but I think the owner is going to be giving it to me at the end of the season.

Can you do a part 2 vid on this ml. Bullet and powder preferences and any updates you may have done. I just acquired one of these and this is the only vid I’ve found so far.

I have three of these and all are scoped and have see through mounts. They are accurate and a bit of trouble to clean. Cleaning is easier and more efficient the more you do it. They come with all high end quality materials and systems and all made in the USA. I assume T/C quit making them since the market was flooded with cheap knock off made in Spain and could not compete price wise. The other great inlines still made are by Knight. I typically use 3-50 grain pellets of Pyrodex in my 50 cals. Still kicks less than a 30-06 and just as powerful to 150 yards.

The break barrel is a little bit better instead of the bolt it’s easier to clean and easier to shoot you don’t have to use a special tool and put the 209 primer down in there did break it open like you do a shotgun break barrel shotgun

I won this gun in a raffle in the eighties. Great gun. Taken deer no scope. Easy to clean.

I am 15 and my parents split and my dad had left some stuff that he couldn’t take and he left this exact same rifle but with a black barrel but he couldn’t ever get the action to come back and forth and so I took it completely apart(being my first time ever taking a gun apart) and surprisingly wasnt hard to put back together but i cleaned it thoroughly and got it to finally work but i dont know how to use it or what to buy for it someone help please!!!

Still use my Black diamond and I had bought it new when it came in a full kit when it was first offered by Thompson Center all those many years ago.

Thanks! Feels good to get one first day out during MZ season. Now I got all rifle season to relax and pick a trophy!

On Tuesday afternoon (11/29/16 ) I took my 11th deer with this model. It is kind of a pain to clean, but oh well.

grandson has same gun we sighted it in today, his has tru-glo iron sights and the  rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. loads were 100 grains of loose PyrodexRS  and Thompson Center Super Shockwaves. out of 8 shots he had 2 shots touching twice. I was impressed with the accuracy of a ML he got for 50 bucks in a pawn shop in like new condition.
