In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at the S&W booth to see Smith & Wesson’s new 5.7mm pistol. The M&P5.7 is a great new addition to the lineup of new 5.7 pistols coming to the market and is loaded with features. According to the press release from S&W:
“Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., a leader in firearm manufacturing and design, is proud to announce the new full-size M&P®5.7 pistol with a 22-round capacity. In an effort to enhance the performance of the increasingly popular 5.7x28mm round in a polymer handgun platform, Smith & Wesson set out to deliver a new and innovative design that will offer a more reliable, accurate, and consistent shooting experience.
Designed within the M&P5.7 is Smith & Wesson’s new gas-operated, locked-breech, rotating Tempo™ Barrel System. Developed to harness the speed of the round, this new 5-inch barrel allows for a quicker extraction once the bullet passes the gas port, creating a more secured fireform effect. This key feature allows for increased precision following the first trigger pull and works to utilize the ballistic advantages of the 5.7x28mm round. “The M&P5.7 is an exciting new pistol from Smith & Wesson that incorporates a gas-operated Tempo™ Barrel System to effectively harness the 5.7x28mm round, creating a lighter recoil for an overall better shooting experience.
Like all Smith & Wesson firearms, the M&P5.7 is proudly made entirely in the USA and is backed by the Smith & Wesson Limited Lifetime Service Policy. Whatever your purpose, the M&P5.7 is versatile, fun, and a must-have,” says Andrew Gore, Product Manager, Handguns. The M&P5.7 is slide cut for optics to accommodate your preferred micro red dots, has a Picatinny-style rail for added accessories, and includes a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle with thread protector to allow for suppressed shooting capabilities. Its single-action flat-face trigger maintains a crisp break and is designed to allow for consistent finger placement that translates to more accurate and repeatable shooting. This pistol boasts a 22-round capacity and ships with two magazines.
MSRP is $699.00”
I’m most exited about the fact that more 5.7 pistols will eventually mean cheaper 5.7 ammo
Did James do a bunch a blow in the back before the interview?
James the f*ckin man! He crushed that interview. Had to help this S&W rep through his own gun. Mic toss. OUT
I want one but "perfect for training at the range"??? Not at $1.50/rnd
Title: 5.7mm!!!
(Outro shows MP7 in 4.6mm)
Do a tiny rifle!! like the lc carbine!!
Any rumors on a future rifle version like Ruger?
Sweet pistol but suppressing a 57 is just stupid.
What an aggressive mic drop! This guy…huh 🤯
Maybe the Ammo will get cheaper 5.7.yes.👍😁
PSA / Ruger mag compatibility?
Smith & Wesson’s motto: if they can do it eventually we can too. Although usually we won’t
Is it going to have the same issues as the M&P 10 mm? 😬
The shield RDS ugh
Make this in a compact carry that would be sick and have a threaded barrel option
Would buy today if available but it’s not
Get a PSA Rock 5.7 Guys 😉
Me sitting here staring at my ruger 5.7 like shit here we go again.
James knows more about the product. Mic throw was hilarious.
So correct me if I’m wrong. Was James the Smith & Wesson sales rep ?? We are blessed to have a James out there providing all of us insights and great videos. Keep it up James !!!
I hope they make a variant with a 4 or 4.5" barrel for carry, that thing is a hand cannon
I love this but the ammo price keeps me away
Never seen an interviewer sell the product better than the salesman 😂
I’m so fuckin hyped for this. Done deal
This guy talks like he doesn’t like the gun and doesn’t care whether you like it either
Aren’t there problems attaching a suppressor to a rotating barrel?
“…I’ll allow it!!!” , then throws
the mic @ the camera! -priceless
Love this. I need to start saving for one
Just buy a FN57.
Why do people like the 5.7? pro’s & cons?
You can have it in any color you want, as long as it’s black
this gun would be great for people like myself who are sensitive to recoil but also looking for a self defense gun
S&W makes some great products, but until they take the woke lock of their revolvers…my money will go to other endeavors in the weapons world.
If they went for 15 rounds and made it a subcompact size, I’d be even more interested.
I guess S&W doesn’t hire reps that really care about firearms.
A SMITH AND WESSON…. 5.7 PISTOL… FOR JUST $699? What a world we live in folks
why are all the 5.7s hammer fired?
I had no interest at all in 5.7×28 before this… but this new gun looks AWESOME! I may have to consider one.
“i LiKe BlAcK” listen to Henry Ford over here 🙄
Damn nice, would like a metal frame option.
That interviewer is a monster.
He should host a syndicated show
on cable or a big platform. Great energy and professional competency.
I am actually considering buying a S&W M&P….
This dude is not the on-camera dude. Someone should tell Mr. Smith and Mrs. Wesson.
My only question about this one. There was a video on this handgun i saw where the ‘gap’ at the front end between the barrel/slide and the lower half of the pistol was noticeably wider than it was in the ‘still’ images. Is this a sign of ‘wear’ on the firearm or did it simply ‘look’ like it was loose?
I would like to make a trade exchange ☺️
I hope next year zev or Glock make a 5.7 pistol
Its sub 1k and holds 23 rounds? damn this might just turn out to be the best 5.7 on the market right now.
Anyone else notice that the front of the lower, the picc rail is bent downward? I’ve watched 3 different videos so far from 3 different channels and all 3 firearms looked to have a bent rail right below the barrel.
Looks like an interesting grip geometry, will be interesting to see some reviews from the range.
Honest out law like it .
