Taurus 800 Series Pistol Disassembly

Taurus 800 Series Pistol Disassembly

Taurus Firearms – 800 Series Pistol Disassembly Instructions.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FIREARM IS SAFE!
Follow these simple steps when disassembling semi automatic pistols:
1. Remove the firearm from the box and point in a safe direction.
2. Remove the magazine and set aside.
3. Pull the slide back and lock the slide in the open position.
4. Once the slide is locked in the open position, CHECK and MAKE SURE that the chamber is clear by
visually looking at the inside the firearm from the ejection port of the firearm into the chamber.

W A R N I N G
Taurus Pistols are manufactured to perform properly with the original parts as designed.
It is your duty to make sure any parts you buy are installed correctly and that neither replacements
nor originals are altered or changed.
Your firearm is a simple tool but it has many parts that must relate correctly to other parts.
Putting a firearm together with wrong or modified parts can result in a damaged firearm, danger and injury or death to you and others through malfunction.
Always have a qualified gunsmith work on your firearm.

D A N G E R
Pistols are capable of firing with the magazine removed. Injury or death may result.
NEVER POINT A LOADED PISTOL AT ANYONE OR ANYTHING YOU DO NOT INTEND TO SHOOT.

ATTENTION:
No further disassembly is recommended unless done by a skilled gunsmith.

I agree with Dilogna, also those people probably haven’t shot any Tauruses. My 809 handles like a dream.

I have an issue with the mags being fully loaded in the gun there’s alot of play when it’s inside the gun ? And it moves around a lot

You don’t even have to hold it back with the other hand. I just need to hold the gun (with anything; i.e. a vice, between my knees) & with one smooth movement I pull back the slide, slightly, & with my thumb & index (or middle) finger I "slide" the slide forward & right off the frame. *ta-da* the easiest

@hahnyboy7 There is a difference between stating it and actually showing it.

@Kennyan11b it said that in the beginning. Unless you can’t read.

I have 800, it’s rear sight is slightly off center and has been shooting off as well. Any tips on loosing the set screw and realigning the sight? Came new this way

I picked up a PT809 a week ago. I did the field strip just like he did here. Easy as pie. Nice gun too.

If anyone owns one of these, please let me know how accurate it is and if you are happy with it.  I’m looking to get another 9mm, but I’m also on a budget.

I just picked up a PT 845 today. Hoping to take it to the range tomorrow and fire off a few rounds of the 230 grain target load.
