Very good video and very informative. Please remember that the "slide release" as you call it is really a slide hold or slide lock. Always rack the slide to release the slide lock. Keep up the good videos.😎😎

    Looks like a great gun!

I don’t think it’s that much easier to rack than a standard 9mm in my opinion but I do like the magazines for this handgun

The mag release is ambidextrous, you just have to change it yourself

I bought my wife a M&P shield 9mm. I wish I would have waited for the EZ. That slide is tight as a drum.

I have a hard time shooting this on account of the grip safety. I like everything else about it. Perfect size for me. My 2.0 Compact and Shield 2.0 are much better for me

I just bought my 9mm last month. Just started going to the range Sunday. I really need practice. I love the way it fires. Love it though.
    Thanks for the extra instruction.

The grip safety is there because that is not a striker fire gun it’s a hammer(internal) fire gun and that’s one of the drop safeties.

Check the serial number on Smith’s website to see if yours has a recall.

Great video. Do you have the video of its newer version of the Metal one? That’s the one I was asking you about. The new S&W M&P9 2.0 Metal. Have you tested that one out yet. And the Competitor version as well. The 5inch barrel version with the green fiber optic sights

I have 0 issues with the slide’s thumb release. It’s literally EZ. You can swap sides on the mag release.

    Have it, love it.

Personally, I love the grip safety. I’m new to CCW so it’s a lot more comfortable to appendix carry chambered with that I’m a little less likely to cheddar Bob myself.

It should be a requirement that you must display and prove a IQ of at least 90 to own a firearm. Sadly this guy would fail.

I always enjoy these reviews. The reviewer is a joy to watch because of his honesty, integrity and enthusiasm. I don’t watch them for his accuracy however.

As one other poster said, the fundamental difference between the M&P Shield/Shield Plus and the Shield EZ is…..M&P Shield/Shield Plus is striker fired which requires a much stronger recoil spring and the Shield EZ which is hammer fired with a softer recoil spring and a very short stroke single action only trigger. I wouldn’t even think of carrying an EZ without the grip safety and I probably would want the thumb safety too especially for appendix carry. Thinking about buying one. Yeah the Shields and Shield EZs have slide stops….whether they function as a slide release….not for me. The slide release on the Shield EZ are the “ears” at the rear of the slide whether there is a full mag inserted or the mag is out.

Hi, I like your humble and enthusiastic energy. Some good points here. What would you think?, Is this on the big side for a smaller person to conceal carry? I am thankful for you to review this gun.
